The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Amazing Spider-Man - Tie it in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He's just getting up there in age. He'll be 50 when Avengers 2 comes out. meaning, he'll be nearing 53 when Avengers 3 hits.

He might stay on after Avengers 2, but I doubt we'll ever see him in another solo IM film. His role will likely be reduced to that of Nick Fury or the Hulk, appearing only in crossovers or specific film appearances when necessary.

I could be wrong, but I just don't see him continuing beyond Avengers 2, Avengers 3 max. Though TBH, I fully expect a wide "reboot" of the MCU following A3 anyways. Same continuity, but refreshed. Probably with new actors brought on board.

his age is probably not what will make him stop being iron man, id say its whether or not he wants to sign up for another 2 or 3 films is the issue

he doesn't like the whole contract thing apparently, but he likes the character so who knows, im sure marvel won't be in a rush to lose him, and infact i hope andrew garfield stays on for a while also

Yeah. Downey's contract expires with Iron Man 3. He no longer obligated to appear in any more films and he likely won't sign another long term contract.

I think he'd stay to Avengers 3, because after starting off the whole Avengers/Marvel machine, he may want to bow out with the other two of the big 3 of Marvel, while Ruffalo stays on as the link between the "1st generation" and "2nd generation". Not to mention, he genuinely loves playing Tony Stark and said he'd continue on as long as Marvel will have him.

Anyway, Spider-Man could maybe be shown in a cameo when talking about new recruits to the Avengers initiative and Fury just flat out denies and says "No, he's too young, I made a promise to a good man I wouldn't bring him into this" (oh ya, btw the Parkers would work for SHIELD). But, finally Spider-Man would have a small role in Avengers 3.

Just have him in A2 and then straight to A3, if they really must include Tony/IM. Otherwise, they can kill off Fury in A2 (or make him appear killed off, comics and MCU-style) and have Tony be Director of SHIELD, sans the *****ery. That way you can have him cameo in almost every Marvel flick and keep the universe together.

i don't think they are finished with fury yet, there is alot we don't know about him, i can't see them killing SLJ fury anytime soon

they will talk downey into coming back for avengers 3 even if he doesn't make a IM4 i think downey will most likely be willing too appear in TA3

I honestly don't understand this preoccupation with making every single Marvel property - even ones licensed to other studios - part of the MCU. I like the Marvel Studios approach, but don't see any reason why it should become the defacto status for all Marvel properties on film.

Having TASM and its sequels existing in the MCU would in no way have any measurable impact on the story of said films or on the films and TV stories that do comprise the MCU... and no, Marvel wanting to put little Easter Eggs like Oscorp Tower in The Avengers doesn't count as a reason why the TASM films should be part of the MCU.

Agreed.I'd rather have Spidey go at it alone. It would in fact lessen the impact,I think.

It is the best of both worlds IMO. I'm assuming that if they include Spidey in the MCU, it will simply mean that Spider-Man will appear in Avengers and other big event movies but will still have his stand-alone franchise with no interference from the rest of the MCU or with really small easter eggs (i.e. Spidey swinging by a Tony Stark billboard - nothing like Tony Stark himself appearing in the movie).

Also, not every Marvel character has to be in the MCU but I personally feel that Spider-Man should be there. Spider-Man has always been the face of Marvel. He is just as iconic as Batman and Superman. Having a Marvel universe without him feels really odd IMO. Imagine if they made a shared DC Cinematic Universe with no sight of Batman or Superman (the faces of DC) or if they made one big Disney crossover between all the characters they've had over the decades but with no sight of Mickey Mouse.

That being said, if I had to choose between a poorly done integration of Spider-Man in the MCU and no Spider-Man in the MCU at all, I would go with the latter. I do want Spidey brought in and done right. If they're going to throw him in there just for the sake of throwing him in there, I will take issue with that.

Merchandising falls under Marvel. Video games are in that bracket. The only thing Sony has are movie rights. That logo means absolutely nothing.

Wouldn't call it "nothing".

The particular logo on that billboard is obviously the Oscorp Industries logo from TASM, I.E; Sony, so it might be something.

That isn't just an ordinary Oscorp logo. That is the logo from The Amazing Spider-Man. Sony owns the rights to that logo.

wow could this be a sign that they are connecting TASM to MCU =O

to be able to use that logo it must mean something

Yes. ^

I seriously doubt Sony would let one of their own logos be in a frickin' Iron Man game, without a TASM / MCU crossover in mind.

I really don't think this means anything. In The Incredible Hulk movie tie-in game, if I remember correctly, some trucks had the Raimi Daily Bugle logo on it. It's happened before.

I could see the logic in making it known that the TASM films take place in the same overall universe as the Marvel Studios films, but I don't understand this desire to take the character and do blatant crossovers (such as having him show up in one of Marvel's 'homegrown' movies). It's completely unnecessary.

It's just an easter egg most likely. Just like their plan to include the Oscorp tower in the Avengers (which didn't happen anyway). If they were to consider adding Spider-man to the MCU we wouldn't be hearing about it from an easter egg in a game.

^ Easter Eggs, IMO, are the ONLY way they should connect the TASM films to the MCU.

what are sony getting out of this easter egg ?

they are still using the oscorp logo

I can't recall that.

I would be fine with that because Spidey would still be in the MCU in that case and that void feels fulfilled at least to me.

I wouldn't mind him showing up in an Avengers movie as long as the story requires him to be there. For example, if Avengers 2 or 3 will feature Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet, a couple of Avengers are not going to be enough to beat him. You'll need as many superheroes as possible. In the comics, it took the whole Marvel universe to beat Thanos when he had the Gauntlet. That would be an example of Spider-Man working naturally in a Marvel Studios movie. But I do agree that in an Avengers movie where the Avengers are battling someone like Kang or Loki, Spider-Man being there wouldn't exactly feel natural.

Our point is that it hints that Spidey is in the MCU, not that it is a definite yes.
