The Amazing Spider-Man v.2 - Part 3

There's just that disconnect between SA's Venom/Flash and Venom's Venom/Flash. He's only in two books. You think they can keep some consistency with him. Especially with Remender being the one who established Venom. I know there's a new writer for his series, but even before Bunn took over the Venom book, while Remender was on both SA and Venom, Flash's Venom had some inconsistencies.

Seriously, I don't even bother with those kinds of questions anymore. Like, if they neutered the symbiote, then why over in Venom Flash has 100% control of the symbiote and he's not all kill-first-ask-later, while at the same time over in SA he's still turning into crazy-killer-Hulk-OutOfControl-Venom and is just so ready to kill everyone?

And it is this exact lack of ability to maintain continuity between ONLY TWO COMICS that prompts me to dump it all. I mean it just seems as if all the creators are more intent on what they want to present than how it jibes with other books. Also shows a comPlete lack of leadership from the EIC. Again, sad.

I have a question. In the latest issue of Amazing, they mention Norman Osborn is in a coma. When did this happen? Last I remember of Norman was in his miniseries where he and some others broke out of a secret institution, but Norman turned himself back in.

Eh, it's just dumb nitpicking that overshadows a good reading experience.

I haven't followed it since Siege but wouldn't that have been that most recent story in Avenger or New Avengers? I just assumed they were talking about that.

It happened in Avengers #24...

Norman had someone fused all the powers of each individual Avenger into his body... and it kind of melted his mind...

No... really... something like that...

It's was Bendis...

That happened about 6 months ago our time...

:yay:

So here it is, the Superior promo with all creators attached this time. No doubt about it, this is the replacement for ASM after 700.

Glad Camuncoli is sticking around. Ramos and Stegman I could take or leave either way. I'm sure most are thrilled Stegman is on a Spider-Man book after Scarlet Spider....

I really wish Stefano Caselli was a regular artist for Spidey. I love his stuff and I think it fits the character perfectly.

I still wonder what Superior means, though. The Superior Spider-Man? Doesn't have the same ring to it. We'll see, I guess.

Not a nitpick, a legitimate question.

Osborn joined Hydra and became some super adaptoid thing.

OK, thanks, guys. I vaguely remember something like that. Getting old, memories going...:oldrazz:

Personally, I really like Ramos. Also like Stegman after his stint on Scarlet.

Not sure about this "Superior." Why can't it be Amazing Spider-Man 701? :csad:

Here's an idea, what if on the cover they make read:

701

...and continue that way, emphasizing the last digit (eventually last two digits at 710). This way it can sync up with Marvel Now, then go back to original numbering for milestones like 750 or 800 with minimal fuss! :yay:

Marvel used to do the current number/real number thing early on in Quesada's tenure.

That method worked fine for me, it showed you had a relatively new take on the title but could tell its history at the same time. But I am looking forward to this new #1.

I would love for Caselli to be the regular on Spider-Man. His first page on 666 is one of the best drawings of Spider-Man period. I'm fond of Ramos as well, his style haa grown a lot since his Spectacular run. If he's drawing Spider-Man I got no complaints.

So this must have been what had Stegman all giddy on Twitter the other day. I'm not exactly sure how Superior is going to fit for Spider-Man. I'm a tad disappointed because then maybe the people who are saying that someone else is going to be Spider-Man after 700 could be true also.

And as a Clone Saga fan if they couldn't have Peter replaced by his FREAKIN' CLONE I don't see how anybody else is going to work. :oldrazz:

The word "Superior" doesn't necessarily mean the book will be called "Superior Spider-Man"...

We've had a few teasers; killers, family, extended, soldier, chimichanga, etc... that are not part of the book's title...

I would think it's a reflection of a power-boost... or maybe a mere point that at his core, Peter Parker is simply the better super-hero out there... there was a scene in OMIT when Dr.Strange was pleading Peter's case with Tony and Reed, and he simply used the words "because he's better than all of us"... or something like that...

I'm just throwing that out there...

:yay:

Oh I don't think they'll call it the "Superior Spider-Man" I'm just a tad bit confused why "Superior" would be associated with the Spider-Man book out of all the superheroes, villains, and various galactic threats in the Marvel Universe.

Superior would be more suited for say...someone in the X-Men universe since mutants have been referred to as "Homo-Superior". It's just an odd word for Spider-Man.

Is that stupid Alpha kid still around? Maybe it has to do with him.

Maybe it stems from the Alpha stuff where Peter decided he had to take away Alpha's power. After this thing with Doc Ock, Peter feels the moral obligation to decide for everyone what is right, and he takes over Ock's Octobots to "right all the wrongs". Hence the "Superior"

He doesn't get to keep them when he's out of the Lighthouse, apparently. He's still been in the wheelchair in his own series, hasn't he?
I seem to remember something along the lines of Flash not thinking it would be right for him to suddenly walk around with high tech legs because of the questions that would surface over what makes him such a special veteran that he gets those and no other vets do. (The whole secret identity thing)

Not a nitpick, a legitimate question.

I'm sorry, but to have it "turn you off to both series" is ridiculous.

Ok... CConn, you're getting your posters confused...

Spider-Gnome asked this question as seen below...

I have a question. In the latest issue of Amazing, they mention Norman Osborn is in a coma. When did this happen? Last I remember of Norman was in his miniseries where he and some others broke out of a secret institution, but Norman turned himself back in.

You had responded AT THE SAME time with this post immediately following Spider-Gnome's question...

Eh, it's just dumb nitpicking that overshadows a good reading experience.

... because YOU were responding to this comment stated above Spider-Gnome's question...

So the "dumb nipicking" response legitimately foes to Spider - Man... and not Spider-Gnome... and Spider - Man is the poster worthy of this response...

I'm sorry, but to have it "turn you off to both series" is ridiculous.

... not Spider-Gnome.
Spider-Gnome did indeed ask a legitimate question... in my opinion.

I hope this clears things up for both parties involved before it turned into something stupid...

:yay:

Oh wait. Yeah. I was replying to Spider - Man, not Gnome. We posted at the same time accidentally.
