Marvel Now - Part 3

Honestly the last time I've seen Marvel fire on all cylinders like it is now was back in 1998 when they brought back all the heroes from that Heroes Reborn crap.

Those were same damn good comics. Busiek on Iron Man, Waid on Cap and Jurgens on Thor? Dream come true.

There's so much Marvel going on its amazing I'm able to get anything outside of their comics! But I like the abundance of Marvel...minus the double-shipping.

Around the time of Dissembled was good...if I remember rightly.

Only double-shipping book I get is Superior Spider-Man. I give that a pass because a) I love it and b) ASM was doing it before it became Marvel's standard practice.

Nearly everything's double-shipping now. Not officially, but most of Marvel's comics come out about 18 issues a year.

You remember wrongly. :oldrazz:

I know you love Bendis and all but you should really try checking out Busiek's Avengers or even Geoff Johns. They were outstanding.

Bob Harras was another guy with a terrific Avengers run under his belt. He should stick to writing and give up on being EiC. He wasn't all that good at running the creative end of Marvel and it sounds like DC fans want to string him up from a tree these days.

While I enjoy Bendis a great deal, I'm hoping he eventually jumps to editorial. Despite what people think about his writing, I think most everyone seems to like his general ideas. If he could do that and then allow people like Remender or Waid to execute the ideas, I think they would likely please a lot more people.

New York, NY—March 29th, 2012— This July, red hot writer Sam Humphries (Uncanny X-Force) and artist Andre Araujo (FF), shine an entirely new light on an all-new, all-android Avengers team – Avengers A.I.! Spinning out of the critically acclaimed event Age Of Ultron, Avengers A.I. sends fans deeper into the synthetic core of the Marvel Universe, great for new and lapsed readers alike!

A brave new world is unleashed and only one team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes can save us from the future. Gathered together by Hank Pym, The Vision leads Victor Mancha, Doombot, and the mysterious Alexis in a race to contain an unfathomable Pandora’s Box of destruction! And which side will Monica Chang, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., find herself on?

“Springing out of the increasingly razor-thin crawlspace between the organic and synthetic worlds comes 'Avengers A.I.'," said Axel Alonso, Editor In Chief, Marvel Entertainment. “When one of the Marvel Universe's preeminent brainiacs, Hank Pym, embarks on a long road to redemption, he must assemble a team unlike any other, a team composed of heroes that will challenge the very definition of 'Artificial Intelligence' and the way you look at super heroes."

Following the harrowing events of Age Of Ultron, can Hank Pym & The Vision lead a team into the digital unknown?

"I could not be more psyched to be ushering the Avengers and the Marvel Universe into the Age of A.I.” explained Humphries. “This book is futureshock crashing into the world outside your window. Once the A.I.s are unleashed, there is no turning back. Even the phone in your pocket could be a threat against humanity. It's an exciting and dangerous new era for Earth's Mightiest Heroes."

Each issue of Avengers A.I. features special augmented reality content available exclusive through the Marvel AR app – including cover recaps, behind the scenes features and more that add value to your reading experience at no additional cost.

This July, Sam Humphries and Andre Araujo redefine what it means to be Earth’s Mightiest in Avengers A.I. #1!
It will be intresting seeing Pym, Vision and Victor together I guess. They should swap the Doombot for Machine Man, Deathlok or something.

yeah that about sums it up...wake me up when Gaimen is writing Dr.Strange or something.

Will this be the first interaction of Pym and his "grandson"?

Heh. Pretty much. He'll probably be the first to "die".

I never really though of that, or Vision and Victor being "brothers," even.

Anyone know when Marvel will be re-releasing the 700 free #1's?

Eh, I'll pass. So many boring books right now. I've really whittled my current titles down now. :(

A Doombot is featured in a book but U.S. Agent, Hercules and Moon Knight are nowhere to be found. (At least that I'm aware of, I'm a trade waiter now) But WTH?

Good news if you're a Vision or Hank Pym fan. I know they haven't found too much love in Marvel Now.

I wonder if the people who used to moan about too many X-Men titles will complain about too many Avengers books.

They had some interaction in Avengers Academy. Hank told Victor not to call him grandpa.

U.S Agent lost some limbs. Last I saw of him he was acting as warden of the vault in Thunderbolts.

Moon Knight is in Age Of Ultron.

Have no idea where Hercules is.

The only thing that really draws me to that title is Victor Mancha, and Vision to a smaller extent. Particularly, the family aspect (including Pym). But I think Marvel dropped the ball on the rest of the cast. The Doombot could be interesting, so I don't mind that, but two other new characters was a bad call in my opinion. When you have Machine Man, Jacosta, Jim Hammond, and so many other artificial characters in the Marvel Universe that could draw readers, you go with 3 new characters (including the Doombot). Eh... I'll skim the book but will likely pass. Victor's the only thing really making me curious, but not at a time when I'm maxed out on titles.

They could of just put Pym, Vision and Victor Mancha in one of the Avengers titles they already have and do some storylines without having to start another title.

True. Honestly, this could easily have been the follow up to Remender's Secret Avengers since that dealt with AI taking over.
