I see Aquaman as a two picture thing. The introduction to his world and villains etc. I'd definitely go with Orm and Orin both being sons of Atlaan and Orm trying to take his brother's throne.

Now, I agree with MoT that Aquaman could be a great lead in movie to JL, but I'd like at least one Aquaman sequel with Gamemnae

I could see Aquaman as more of a spinoff of JLA, mostly because is rep is pretty much destroyed in the eyes of the general public.

I think WB could do Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, and the Batman flicks, make JLA, and spinoff the likes of Aquaman, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, and even Plastic Man. It might make the fat cats at WB at little more receptive to the idea of superhero flicks if JLA created a more solid market for them.

maybe one day after they've done all that the milestone heroes can be introduced. am i the only one who thinks that would be a good idea? id love to see icon and static.

I'm right there with you.

Star Trek's rep was thoroughly ruined in the eyes of the public but they still managed to make a good and popular movie. I really believe Aquaman could be successful if done right.

I agree, but theres no denying WB's lack of movement on comic projects in the past. Every little incentive counts with them it seems.

I also think Star Trek was only really hurting in the eyes of younger audiences who only heard the jokes. People I would have never guessed to be Star Trek fans claimed allegiance to Star Trek flicks especially Wraith of Kahn

So I did some research (grueling trips to IMBD and Wikipedia), and it turns out I had the wrong impression about Alexander Skarsgard's age. I thought he was in his late thirties. As it turns out, he is 32. Bale became became around the same age.

With that said, my one and only choice for Aquaman is officially Skarsgard., atleast for the next year or two. And while I again point out that I like going with younger casting choices, it's usually because I want most superheroes to be fresh faced for an origin. But after the origin movie is told, I wouldn't pay attention to age anymore, or atleast I think I wouldn't. At that point, the actor has become the character if there performance is good. Would it be a gamble to go with a 32-33 year old, yes it would, because in hollywood one of two things happen as an actor ages. One, they virtually look the same despite aging and going into there late thirties and early forties. Or, the older they get the more they fall apart. But Skarsgard being the awesome m-fer that he is, I think it's worth that gamble.

Plus, it would silly for Aquaman battling to become King of Atlantis while be playing by a babyfaced 25 year old. You need someone who looks older and established. And for Aquaman to be successful and taking seriously, an actor who can bring the rugged nobility and sense of purpose like Skarsgard.

And although I still need to read up some more before I have a true grasp on the charactes, my eaarly choice for Vudko is Anthony Stewart Head and Scout Taylor-Compton as Deep Blue, I've had a thing for Compton since watching her in Halloween. I think can be a somebody. Not a JLC like star, but a somebody who will get alot of roles throughout her career.

I wish Kings had never got canceled it was one of my favorie shows the whole time it was on.

Great cast Eddie, but I'm not to sure about Gemma as Mera though. I hated her character in Quantum of Solace, she shows up supposed to keep Bond in line wearing a so-so short brown trench coat that makes her seem like she's naked underneath, who can't see what or whose (Bond) coming next?

But she's supposed to be in Clash of the Titans with Liam Neeson & Ralph Fiennes, so I guess that was just one off setting role to me. She probably can act, but her role was just so obvious in the bond flick, all the "I'm not going to take crap from you Mr. Bond" poses & dialouge just seemed so weak. But again, great cast. Sorry if I come off like an ass. I'm not trying to be a smartass or anything, but she just off set me with her performance in bond. Maybe it was filmed like that as joke?

Haha, no problem. I loved her in Quantum of Solace and found that she was attractive, charming and the owner of a lovely bottom. She seemed to be a real throwback to Pre-Brosnan Bond girls. She also seems to be doing pretty well for herself in Hollywood with Prince of Persia and Clash of the Titans, but each to his own.

Damn this cast is awesome. I'm torn ass for my top choic between Fassbender, and Winchester

I think if they get good characters, actors, writers an aquaman series treated seriously could last a good couple of films.

She was definitely hot, there's no doubt about that. I also agree with her upcoming work like Prince of Persia & COTT, but I think you nailed it. She might've been the throwback bond girl Pre-Bronsan. I guess I wasn't expecting that in modern Bond, but now from that perspective it doesn't bother me as much. Hell comic fans love throwbacks, lol. I kinda got that the feel, but I just thought it was something else. I should've went with my first mind.

BTW, what do you all (Everyone) think of having appearances by other obscure Aquaman villians. I know some of them are lame, like the fisherman but in the Sword of Atlantis series they made him a parasite like alien that latches onto people's head's kinda like an alien face hugger. If they all got upgrades like instead of fish gimmicks would it be ok for everyone if they atleast made an appearance as henchmen? Because I got somecasting choices in mind for these guys.

Thats a great choice for Manta. And the rest of the cast is capable/solid.

Good cast, but shouldn't your Ocean Master be younger, considering he's Aquaman's brother? Sean Bean could probably play Fassbender's father.

Your probably right considering there's like a 20 year difference between the two, but Sean Bean is so great at playing bad guys it's hard to exclude him from the role. Maybe Rufus Sewell or Dominic West for a younger name?

Sewell would be an AWESOME Orm! I'm going to post my new Aquaman cast soon :).

No, not the giant Star fish thing that the JLA fought, this guy.
fisherman%204.jpg

I know, pretty lame. But in SOA they made him a parasite creature.

This is from wiki on his new incarnation:
A new, more deadly version of the villain appears in Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis #48-49 (2007), written by Kurt Busiek. The Fisherman's helmet is revealed to be a xenoform parasite, a Lovecraftian alien that attaches itself to every incarnation of the Fisherman and uses it to instill fear in his victims.[1]

I agree it would be a interesting way to bring that character in.

^Ok, I'm glad you think because since it's basically a lovecraft like creature, I was thinking Tom Wood could play him. He's well known in the sci-fi/horror genre for creature films as he's not only created creatures but played them aswell, like this famous monster:

So I think Tom could create something to create fear with the fisherman.

Everytime I see Alexander Skarsgard, I'm more and more impressed with him as an actor, and I don't want to be beat the figurative dead horse, but thats why I want him as Aquaman. I think he is the kind of an actor an Aquaman movie would need in the lead for the general audience to take Aquaman seriously and not as a joke.
