The Atheism Thread - Part 5

Are you seriously telling me that the theory is final? Even the top scientists will say that incomplete fossil records mean we don't know. Come on, we did this at my school and I'm 16.
As I said, I think it is very likely, and I do not believe we were made by a higher being. I believe God is man made and very powerful. However I am not going to say "there is no God and I am sure of this", because I have no way of proving it. Just as any scientist will tell you they have no way of being 100% their theories are correct.

Did I seriously say the theory was final? Did I seriously say there is definitely no God? Did you know that atomic theory is just a theory. The atom bomb never happened, it's all a lie, teach the controversy.

Evolution is reality. Obviously, the concept is going to get more refined as we discover more fossils, and learn more about genetics, but the theory as a whole is irrefutable.

But by all means, feel free to try. Creationists are still looking for that precambrian rabbit. That and Noah's Ark...

Don't forget the crocoduck! Also, the Grand Canyon was carved by the great flood in 5 minutes. There are mountains of evidence to support this, it's all accurate and correct!

With each Piper Maru post, you have to accept the snarky. And not to take it to heart![/BLACKOUT]

I'm not a creationist, I recognise that scientists discover new things all the time, so it's inevitable that something we think is right now will be wrong in a 1000 years.

Not if it's demonstrably true. People in the Middle Ages knew sex led to pregnancy. 1000 years later, that still holds true.

Tbf...you can become pregnant without sex today.

Thank you. Human knowledge does not become defunct by default, but rather becomes refined. The work Babbage did in computer science has been built upon at an ever speedier rate, but he remains the giant upon whose shoulders dwarves stand. The same goes for Darwin.

I wonder what we'll know centuries from now? Assuming we're still around.

If a 'god' exists then logic dictates it would be a natural phenomenon. If there is a 'Creator' then there will be science to back its existence.

'God' IS a supernatural (Spirit) being...outside the realm of the created right?
So....You CAN'T put your soul and spirit in a beaker right?
Nor can you put 'God' under the microscope...
We are all under "The Creator's" microscope so to speak.
God is not subject to the laws of nature and man...we are.
God only submited to the laws once in HIStory and he paid for it.

I do think people somewhat overemphasize Darwin. No one ever mentions Wallace, who reached the same conclusion around the same time independently. Maybe it was his other whacky ideas.

In an odd way, Wallace's theories are now more widely accepted than Darwin's. Theistic evolution, that is.

Which god is this now?

We try to keep him amused so that he doesn't try to throw his faeces at us.

Don't mix up fantasy with the laws of nature. If a 'creator' exists it's bound by the same laws you and I inhabit. I suggest people who think otherwise put down their copy of the bible, most of which isn't true to the actual written scriptures, and pick up a science book, or at the very least actually learn about the history of not only your own religion but other religions as well. It might be eye opening.

No. Why would I?

Then why do you waste your time in asking "which God..."?
Seems.........foolish.

If you were truly and honestly wanting to have understanding...
You would start with the basics...
Could there be a Creator? Obvious answer is yes.
Take baby steps to get to know if there is a God.

And to answer simply "why" would you....

The same reason a child comes to understand that he or she came from a Father and Mother and KNOWS it to be true.

Again...
Baby steps.

Sigh....
:doh:Really?

Noooo.... I believe I explained it pretty clear.
If you choose not to use your conscience and reason....
I can't help you.

GOD is not subject to the laws of nature...WHY??? BECAUSE HE CREATED THEM.
THE....LAAAAAAWS....ARE...'SUBJECT'...TO.....GOD.
Not the other way around.

God is a Spirit....not flesh and bone.

Hope this helps..
Take it or leave it.

It's all good.:word:

I am using my conscious and reason, I am also incorporating logic, study, history, science, facts, evidence and common sense in my views. Like I said, I suggest you learn more about your religion outside of what you read in your holy book. I suggest learning ancient Greek and Hebrew and studying the actual written texts many of the holy books are based on, but something tells me you might not like what you read.

Speaking of God and laws I am surprised an Atheist hasn't sued God yet(for poops and giggles and prove a point about God). You think anytime we have an "act of God" such as a hurricane or tornado, they could file a case against him creating destruction to their property and sue him for damages
