The FantheFire reviewer liked Green Lantern. Nuff said.

would be nice but pretty much every negative review is gonna get picked a part to the letter.and anything that doesn't add up to the fan is gonna get blasted.I expect him to take heat alone for giving TA a rotten while calling green lantern
"A fun movie that you can lose yourself in for a little over 100 minutes and get a thirll and laugh or two along the way"
and with that let mortal kombat begin

*turns into the Mortal Kombat version of Thor*.......Raiden

He also gave IM2 a 4/5.

Somebody went in this one looking to hate i think.

Imo sometimes should the radio stations or the newspapers be more careful with the selection of the critics. It makes no sense to send a guy who likes drama to a fun movie and vice versa.

I'd hate to see professional critics picking and choosing which movies to review depending on their own personal preference of genre. They should be able to review everything from Bambi to The Human Caterpillar all in one day. And if they happen to generally not like a certain genre, yet give one of those movies a glowing review then I tend to sit up and take a bit more notice of that film.

Well, if he thinks that "Sorry fanboys, we hated this one too" accurately summarizes his review, this disqualifies him right there.

Sorry, Sam Bathe, I can't take you seriously.

You are completely right. But there seem to be a lot of professional critics who aren't objectively especially with this sort of movies.

There were times I watched a movie more than ever because of the bad review. It weren't the worst decisions.

Here's some stuff to help us forget about the Sam Bathe review:

(some spoilers in these links)

"Ultimately, what Joss Whedon and Marvel have done is give us The Avengers Movie. It’s missing (almost) nothing. The script is funny when it needs to be, bad ass when is has to be and even manages to tug at the heart strings even when you don’t want it to. This is the movie I was expecting, and more, superb and well worth multiple viewings on the big screen."

"I loved this film for a lot of reasons, but rather than list them all I’d rather just say there wasn’t anything I disliked about it"

"Avengers is not only a formidable spectacle of blockbuster moviemaking, it's genuinely fun."

"I think this is a BEAUTIFUL movie"

He made a positive review for Green Lantern and Green Hornet. lmao!

Guys, come on. He's allowed not to like it. Look, Green Lantern is not a good movie in the slightest, but I enjoy watching it. There's just some moments in that film that just click for me...and that's just the nature of film criticism.

Some things work for a particular person. That same thing might not work for another. Who's right?

He said he 'hated it'. Pretty strong words. Raises our curiosity when he also praises a trainwreck of a movie with GL.

Add into this how the review seemed written to intentionally provoke its readers. "Sorry fanboys.....?"

I think we will see a few more reviews like this written. The lure of web traffic to these blogs and lesser sites is too much. Positive reviews will be lost in the shuffle. Negative reviews will draw the ire of the fans.

I don't understand why some unknown jackass has to try to make a name for himself by giving this movie a bad review. Its clear he doesn't know what he's talking about. He's just tryingto be difficult so he can get more traffic to his website.

This is starting to remind me of the Frasier episode where he has a focus group. 11 of the 12 in the group think his show is great but one person hates it, and Frasier gets completely obsessed with the one guy who doesn't like him.

Seriously, any film with literally hundreds of critics writing about it is gonna get some criticism. But Drew McWeeny and pretty much all other reputable critics enjoyed it and almost all the posters on here think it's amazing... so, really, it's all good. =)

This episode was classic. Had Tony Shahloub has the critic, Frasier ended up burning his newsstands down.

A languid, misdirected, badly written adventure, our negative review caused quite the uproar online, and I’m sorry fanboys, we hated this one too.

Wow, what a ****. :down

That very quote has "catch me if you can" written all over it. He wants the attention we might as well ignore him.

Yup, I stopped reading after that. So much for professionalism.

edit: I remember this ass hole now. He thanked people in the comments of his **** Thor review for giving him so many hits. What a choad.

Ridiculous... And , even worse, he liked the horrible gl movie.

I'm definitely not one for conspiracies regarding bad reviews or anything. If a critic didn't like a movie that I wanted them to like, well I'd be sad and I'd move on.

I've gotta admit that Sam Bath review does come across as kind of baity. Also, I've never even heard of him until today, when that link was posted.

Ah well... can't win 'em all.

I really don't follow movies like this, so i have questions. Will RT eventually put up all the good reviews? or do they just select which ones to put up? why do they put up the bad reviews so much faster?

Not a review, but I love this tweet:

Got to see #Avengers again. Seriously, if you have stock in Pfizer, SELL. Viagra is about to be replaced.

Isn't Zeb Wells writing Avenging Spider-Man currently? If so, he's really funny! Like following him on Twitter too.
