Where does it say in that Instagram post that he left Scotland?

Okay, I changed my opinion. For the first half of the movie he can be like that. :hmr:

I also find extremely ironic that people demand heroes to die and when actually one of them dies (QS) they try to form scenarios where he comes back or demand him to come back in the comment sections. Just drives the point home that fans shouldn't be in charge of those creative decisions and they are better watching the movies...

The Quicksilver death was horribly mishandled though. There was next to no emotional weight to it and he literally went out with a quip. It was pathetic. It should have been Hawkeye that died saving Wanda, at least that would have meant something.

Avengers stars dine out in Edinburgh:
http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.c...tars-wine-and-dine-across-edinburgh-1-4433642

Stars, who have been filming scenes across the city for the next instalment in the Avengers movie franchise, have taken a break from saving the galaxy to try out the city’s top eateries.

Self-proclaimed foodie Scarlett Johansson and the Avengers crew stunned punters when they stopped for a pub lunch in Leith. The hungry actress ordered assorted wild mushrooms sautéed in a garlic and parsley olive oil, served on toasted homemade bread and topped with poached eggs, at the family-run Roseleaf pub on Friday. A member of staff said online: “I nearly fainted. My heart was in my mouth.”And Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlet Witch, has also been taking advantage of the city’s larder. She celebrated friend and Harry Potter actress Jade Gordon’s 30th birthday with the multi-course tasting menu at fine dining restaurant The Table, on Dundas Street.

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who joined them, said of the experience: “It was an unbelievable meal.” Snaps taken on their mobile phones showed the stars joking that they would like to marry chef Sean Clark.Between her busy filming schedule, Ms Olsen also managed to squeeze in meals at Leith’s The Kitchin and Gardener’s Cottage.

She was spotted filming an intimate scene with Paul Bettany on Cockburn Street earlier in the month, hinting at a major new plot between characters Scarlet Witch and Vision. And actor Chris Evans, who plays the clean-cut superhero Captain America, swapped his shield for a beer when he rolled up with a friend outside the George Street club on Saturday night in a Range Rover. The actor grabbed a few Heinekens before heading to the VIP area for a few more. General manager Shandy Martin said: “He seemed super cool, super chilled and just out for a few beers. We have had a fair few famous people over the years in Opal, but Captain America is up there with the best. It was great to see Opal still a firm favourite for the A-list to hangout.”

So he already filmed his bits there?

He's been there about a week. They may have all moved on to Northern England.

Confirmed: Filming at Durham Cathedral is for next Avengers film

The Avengers crew have blown their disguise

An investigation by The Tab has confirmed links between filming at Durham Cathedral and upcoming Marvel Studios production, Avengers: Infinity War.

An article published by The Tab on Thursday revealed the Cathedral to be full of film equipment, but could not confirm speculation that it was for the Avengers film, until further evidence emerged today.

While carrying out their investigation, The Tab were made to delete their photos by the project’s Head of Security.

These remaining photographs, which were published yesterday, depicted privately contracted vans at the rear of the building, marked with cards which read “Rigging” and “Construction”.

Closer inspection of these cards reveals the moniker ‘Mary Lou’, which was previously revealed by a production contact listing website to be the working title of Avengers: Infinity War, thus confirming speculation that the film will shoot in Durham.

Private security firm SRM are operating with a heavy presence across the premises.

With the Cathedral closed for a “major event” from Thursday 4th May to Saturday 6th May, and covered cameras set up outside and green screens inside, filming is expected to take place this coming week.

The film’s astonishing all-star cast includes Tom Hiddleston, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Hemsworth, Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, and Elizabeth Olson.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, it is scheduled for release on 4th May 2018, and has been subject to intense speculation.

An image tweeted by the brothers, which has since been deleted, showed them scouting a filming location, subsequently confirmed to be Durham.

Filming took place in Edinburgh earlier this month with over 400 crew, but Marvel have kept silent on whether the “major event” at Durham Cathedral was also for their Avengers production.

No cathedral staff or employees knew what the event was.

With the writer of yesterday’s article now barred from the Cathedral, we can’t help but consider the appearance of the film’s working title on location to be conclusive evidence that Avengers: Infinity War will be filmed at Durham this coming week.

Evans has said he doesn't start filming until May and it's still April :oldrazz:

Thanos is a big fan of gymnasts?

Evans still has the beard. I wish Cap would keep that all the time. :funny:

It seems to be coming from ppl who constantly think the MCU has no 'stakes' something that seems to have heightened after Civil War last year didn't feature a hero death.

The "stakes" in action movies generally arise from imminent danger, either for the heroes or others. The focus is always on averting the impending disaster. A movie can have high stakes and no deaths. In the case of AOU, there were high stakes and a meaningless death, proving once and for all that character deaths don't automatically make a movie more impactful.

Gonna have to disagree. There were stakes in that something really bad was gonna happen, but the movie so badly mishandled Ultron as a threat that I never really felt a serious sense of danger or peril. Even during the finale, the Avengers are tearing through Ultron's drones like tissue paper.

That's something they need to correct with Thanos and his Black Order.

I agree on all that totally. But that isn't related to whether deaths are needed to raise stakes. You just need good writing.

(The rest of the post is just a general response to this topic, not really a response to your post)

Quicksilver died in AoU and that raised the stakes roughly..zero per cent. Coulson died in the first film and we're expected to believe people like Thor who've seen countless of his own people and other races die in the wars of his past are that moved by the death of some guy who he just met and barely interacted with. And then he comes straight back into his own TV series!

Death is a massive emotional concept and so far the MCU have used it in a very strange way that doesn't provoke any of the feelings you get when important characters die in real films (I'll use the example of Top Gun as an example). Can you imagine if they did a fakeout death of a different character before the real death? People wouldn't have that emotional reaction when the important character dies (not wanting to feel naive/dumb for believing in what could also be another fakeout death) and you can never get that opportunity back again.

If people (including the GA) are ok with a particular character never being seen again in this version of the MCU then having that character die in a dramatic way and staying dead could add something. Not to the stakes (which is all about writing), but to the drama and emotion of the film.
