Infinity War The Avengers: Infinity War Part I & II The Official News and Speculation Thread

I think the Russos are talking about Avengers that aren't the original six. The supporting Avengers are likely the new heroes getting their own movies in phase 3, plus a couple of movie-less Avengers like Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Wasp.

It's a risk, but not one Marvel isn't prepared for. There's a reason why they're introducing so many new characters on phase 3. If the audience likes them, then they'll be fine with new Avengers replacing the old ones.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the newer heroes having a more prominent role in the second movie, compared to the first one.

That means, he is just talking about the Avengers?

Some of the "big four" retired from the Avengers and Vision, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man etc. and Black Panther, Dr. Strange etc. take their place.

Okay, if he said this - i am okay with it!

I thought, they meant, that phase 4 will be without "the big four".
That would be too risky.
But the Avenger team without - for example - Thor, Hulk and Iron Man, no problem. There are enough other great characters. (although i like to have guys like Thor, Iron Man and Captain America in the team)

Iron Man could join the Illuminatis...
Thor could support the Guardians of the Galaxy, or have a story with Beta Rey Bill :hmr:
Hulk could be the threat for the Avengers (and Illuminatis)...
And Captain America could retire and return...

And Black Widow/Hawkeye will finally get a movie together (i do not think so :cwink:)

2. Jane isn't in Infinity War. Thor is on Asgard, or what's left of it and he is with Sif. They are lovers. Jane who? :ilv:

Probably not gonna happen. Sif might even end up getting murked come Ragnarok.

3. When is Daisy going to beat up Coulson and become Director of Shield? After the last midsession finale, it's clear Phil has gone off the deep end. Daisy shows up in Infinity War as the Queen Boss ***** runnin' this **** and she butts heads with The Avengers.

Clark Gregg's Coulson is pretty much the main reason anyone watches the show so probably never?

And if anyone is expecting SHIELD to have a massive presence where we'd have anyone "butting heads" with the Avengers, prepare to be disappointed. Absolute best case scenario is the Agents of SHIELD take part in a montage of the heroes of Earth fighting Thanos' aliens.

A couple of things...

1. Still feelin' the range whenever people call Carol Ms. instead of "Captain"

2. Jane isn't in Infinity War. Thor is on Asgard, or what's left of it and he is with Sif. They are lovers. Jane who? :ilv:

3. When is Daisy going to beat up Coulson and become Director of Shield? After the last midsession finale, it's clear Phil has gone off the deep end. Daisy shows up in Infinity War as the Queen Boss ***** runnin' this **** and she butts heads with The Avengers.

4. Ant-Man showing up with all the world's ants to do battle with Thanos would be epic. Ant-only is the only hero resurrected by an infinity stone.

5. Is The Watcher Stan Lee?

1. Keep frogettin. Im just used to callin her Ms. Sorry.
2. Yeah, yeah, forget everyone hates Jane withna burning passion.
3. Huh. Regardless it'd be nice to see Coulson and Fury in IW just for kicks y'know.
4. Antony, yes maybe Quicksilver too
5. I WOULD KILL HUNDREDS UPON THOUSANDS FOR THAT. STAN LEE WATCHER? YES PLEASE.

I hope you realize how big of a scale film this is gonna be.

Btw, the Russos are interested in having Black Widow get her own solo movie. I know that idea was originally considered to be the kick-off movie for the MCU before IM1 was chosen to be made instead, and I understand why it wasn't. At the time, movies based on female superhero characters were considered a bad idea thanks to dreck like Catwoman and that rushed-out Electra spin-off.

Granted, had they gone with a Black Widow movie instead, it would've made her appearance in Iron Man 2 seem a little less out-of-nowhere as she would've been pre-established at that point. However the point of doing Iron Man first was that people went in thinking it would be another stand-alone movie and that the MCU/Avengers lead-up revelation at the end was a game-changing surprise (for better or for worse) that got people excited for stuff like The Incredible Hulk and the rest of their projects.

The idea of a cross-movie continuity that wasn't JUST sequels was revolutionary, something us geeks had only DREAMED about until then. Starting off with a mostly little-known character like Black Widow instead of someone more recognizable like Iron Man wouldn't have been a good kick-off idea. At worst, it would've been like how the 2011 Green Lantern film was originally intended to be the kick-off of DC's Justice League universe (even though THAT movie had no hints towards that idea at all, so I'm glad Man of Steel and BVS are the kick-off point instead). Still, a Black Widow movie right now would be a decent idea for Phase 4 if we have a good story for it!

I doubt it. Sif is a fun character and it would be a shame for her not to show up in Infinity War, especially with the lack of superheroines. Besides, we've hardly seen much of the character outside of her appearances on Agents of Shield.

Really, because I'm more interested in Daisy and the Inhumans. Daisy pretty much shares the lead with Coulson on that show. People watch the show for different reasons. Coulson is just one reason. Others watch it because of Daisy and The Inhumans, Fitzsimmons, badass women such as May and Bobbi, or even Mack with his axe. But, nobody watches the show for Hunter, because he sucks. Oh, and then there's Ward. He's been a great villain.

I was only joking about Daisy beating up Coulson and becoming director, but I would love to see her and Coulson show up in Infinity War. Marvel knows fans love the tv shows, and if they can, I believe that they will incorporate them into the movies.

We can hope. That marvel has the common sense to give all the big TV and Film characters. ATLEAST a cameo. No more than like 2 minutes. Like for theb characters on AoS have the camera pan around a new fully operational Hellicarrier showing all the Agents as members. For Defenders show them taking down crime in NY on Earth while avengers are in space. For Agent Carter, flashback from Steve. For Gaurdians they and the Avengers should be the main part of the plot.

That's because she and the Warriors 3 aren't big draws. In a movie featuring the Avengers teaming up with the Guardians and Spider-Man, relatively few people are gonna be going to see it for Sif. If she survives Ragnarok maybe she gets a cameo.

Not to the extent that we have a whole subplot about them butting heads with the Avengers, no. If their stance before was that they've excluded the Agents of SHIELD because they don't want to waste screentime for the main characters explaining who these people are, do you really think they're going to give them a significant role in a movie with this many heroes?

As I said before, absolute best case scenario is a cameo during a montage of fighting.

If the Russo's are really considering puting 60 something characters in a film, then I don't see why the possibility of Sif being in the movies all that far fetched.

If you read my last post, you should know I was only joking about Daisy becoming director and "butting heads" with The Avengers. The tv heroes won't have a significant role, but if they are in Infinity War, it's going to be more than a brief montage. As you said, screen time would be needed to introduce those characters. A cameo of no more than 5 minutes is fine. If there's one movie to tv heroes to be included in the Marvel movies, then IW is that movie.

‘Captain America: Civil War’ Directors on Landing Spider-Man, ‘Infinity War’ Shooting Schedule (they also clarify the "67 characters" comment)

“We were being figurative when we said [67 characters] and people took it as literal but there’s a lot of characters. Infinity War is meant to be the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe up to that point. It’s very ambitious in its scope, it wants to take everything that you’ve seen before and coalesce into some kinda of climactic ending. It’s complicated , ambitious storytelling…We’re not talking about lead characters, just people that make an appearance.”

“We start shooting both of them later this year in November and we’re primarily going to be based in Atlanta again. That’s where we’ll do out stage work and some exteriors. There will be locations from around the world involved as well. We actually relocate to Atlanta in late July to finish up pre-production there. We don’t come back to L.A. until the following June.”

“We’re shooting them concurrently, meaning that some days we’ll be shooting the first movie and some days we’ll be shooting the second movie. Just jumping back and forth. We won’t look like this next year.”

What can I say,I liked AoU more than A1. I know,I'm weird like that. I just find the Whedon backlash appalling.

Agreed

I guess that's why they decided to bring four guys to do the movie this time instead of one :hehe:

I mean the dude worked his @ss off for five years and now everyone hates him. Like the movie or not, that's unfair. I wonder if CW is perceived just as a good movie what people will say about the Russos.

What's funny about the whole damn thing is that after the first Avengers film, people were like,"All hail Whedon". After AoU, they wanted to lynch him. It went as far as some people claiming that Whedon didn't respect comics or something like that. I was like wow. Like you said, apallinh to say the least.

Awesome, cant wait to hear the theme for Thanos
