It would probably be torture for a lot of people if we had to wait 4-5 years to see the sequel to the avengers.lol

Marvel Studios' plan is really impressive, I have to say. Amazing coordination and networking between each movie.

Phase 2 sounds good, although I'm interested in how they'll tackle Dr. Strange, Marvel's second most magic-themed superhero, outdone only by Thor. "Smagic" again?

could see farrell doing a damn good job as stark

Kevin Feige talking to IGN about MCU "Phase Two":

"We've already announced Iron Man 3 and Thor 2; both of those will be spread out within 2013," explained Feige. "We haven't announced yet the 2014 movies, but we are working on a draft of Captain America 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, and some of these other ones we've been talking about for a while. Ant-Man I'm hoping we can get off the ground sometime soon. If these first group of films – "phase one" of this Avengers saga starting with Iron Man and ending with Avengers – has an overarching theme, which it does. As people sort of watch all the movies together and then watch The Avengers movie, they'll see this big picture we've been building towards... we have started working on the bones and structure and threading for a phase two. It does start with Iron Man 3 and if it all works – which we hope it does – culminates in another Avengers film."

LOL reading this is like crack to me. Guess I'll be glued to the message boards for another five years.

Theres the "Joint Dark Energy Mission" again.

Mark Ruffalo on Hulk in The Avengers:

"I think he has some team playing issues. I would definitely say that off the bat, yes," Ruffalo said. That may be an understatement, but how could the Avengers ever truly assemble if the Hulk wasn't going to play along? Ruffalo hinted at a more conscientious Hulk. "He might be heading more towards being a team player than ever before. He has some serious ball hog issues, I would say, in general," Ruffalo continued.

I'm really looking forward to kick ass Dr. Strange movie but I really don't care to see him shoe horned into Avengers2. He's always been an ally and I wouldn't mind a cameo or assist but that's it. I want any new members strictly used on classic Avengers.

I'm hoping the cosmic stuff is established seperately. It feels more like a big universe when you don't have to go to earth.

:wow: I've always thought of Dr. Strange as being a more magic-themed superhero than Thor.

So is it safe to say Dr. Strange will be in 2014?

Thor has the whole Nine Worlds and everything it carries. Doctor Strange has extradimensional monsters and bombastic enchantments.

It's really cool seeing Marvel already planning ahead, i'm intrigued as to what they'll set up in IM3.

Yeah, but this is the Sorcerer Supreme we're talking about here! Plus, Strange travels to other realms all of the time.

Iron Man's on FX in HD. My house got an HD TV recently, and it looks great. Especially in fullscreen.

By chance, are Blu-Ray DVD's fullscreen? Because it looks ****ing beautiful.

The idea of Loki needing that sort of transportation seems very odd to me. It doesn't suit his character, in my opinion.

Who says he wants to use the teleportation on himself? How about his "army"?

Idk about anyone else, but i'd rather have a black panther film than a doctor strange film

Why would you have to do that? Tony Stark IS Iron Man. There are more than enough stories to tell with him. No need to ditch the character just because RDJ steps away. No actor is more important than the character.

I totally agree with this. It would be unthinkable to replace an iconic character like Tony Stark, purely because the actor was no longer playing him. Batman has been played by four different actors, to greater or lesser effect, but no one would ever suggest ditching Bruce Wayne in favor of another character. Everyone knows that Batman will be recast after TDKR. There is no reason why Iron Man couldn't follow a similar trajectory.

All this talk of when RDJ might move reminds me that we almost had Tom Cruise as Iron Man. That just makes me laugh.

Am I the only person who remembers that horrible time when Nicholas Cage was attached to Iron Man? It was a year of fear before he moved on and Marvel looked elsewhere. Thank God for RDJ!

Indeed. With possibly your favorite following up the next year. :cwink:

The thought that both Iron Fist and Dr. Strange are in development is truly exciting, they have so much potential on the big screen.

I didn't say teleportation, I said transportation. Loki was on the back of a pickup truck in that gif that was posted. I see something wrong with that, Loki shouldn't need something like that to get around. Teleportation is fine because that suits him a lot more than getting around on some Midgardian truck.

Hmmm...With Phase 2 having the GOTG maybe the 2nd Avengers film's big bad could be Korvac?

The good news with Phase 2 is that if they introduce smaller heroes, they'd likely be less references to a larger universe, since the purpose of those were to set up Avengers.

I hadn't thought of Korvac, but if they are going with the classic GotG, that would be a chance to set it up, and that would be awesome.

I would think it'd be the modern GOTG, CGI Rocket Raccoon anyone? :awesome:
