Damn these threads go by fast! & here's my Avengers 2 roster wishlist:

Captain America
Iron Man
Thor
Hawkeye
Black Panther
Hank Pym
Wasp

I think Black Panther is a MUST! He's one of my favorite characters & he could add alot to the team. Just watch the Avengers show to see why he's such a badass.
This would be my line up as well.

Agreed with the second half. He's awesome on that show. Loved when he owned the entire team and Wasp was upset that he did so. :awesome:
I don't know much about BP besides what I see from the EMH's show, but I love the texture/detail Sideshow put in the statue that I would love to see this exact costume in the movie

BP's suit can easily go from comics to big screen. His suit is to Wakanda what Cap is to America. The highest honor and ceremonial garb. That's a great statue and this is the suit I'd like to see also.
I have faith in a BP film. All we need is the right director and cast.
Exactomundo. :word:

(?)
Yeah but... he was black.
And if he was a white actor, there wouldn't be any interactions or history plot points regarding his skin either.

yeah, which add to the fact that he was a cookie cutter character and can't be lumped into the "black superhero" category.

its like Bishop when he first came out in XMen. He was just a generic character who had black skin. They didn't flesh him out for almost 10 yrs.

Is Black Panther one of the films that is supposed to be coming out in 2014

I'm not getting my hopes up but if phase two is supposed to happen after 2013 then the logical thing to do would be two have Ant Man and BP as the two films IMO. Then they join The Avengers for the sequel. It'd be the similar pattern like Cap, etc. I know some people don't want that to happen but I can see them continuing that route.

Namor has potential, mayve thats why wer not hearing about it.. Marvel wants to get it right? I dunno

What materials would be used for a BP suit? I agree that seeing BP on screen in a proper live action film would be amazing, hopefully Marvel knows that.

It's because without significant storyboard/shot preparation, any water dwelling superheroes will look stupid when they talk "blub, blub, blub" complete with air bubbles underwater with marine wildlife swimming around.

Not to mention the expense .
Lets not forget about Waterworld.

Question: Assuming this is an invasion, and Thor was able to return to Earth via Rainbow Bridge, will The Avengers receive any form or type of reinforcement such as the JLA has aquired in the past with New Genesis, Legion of Superheroes, Suicide Squad and the Green Lantern Corps.?

Agreed, and Thor 2 will be even bigger.

Heck yeah it will, Kevin Feige said it will be the biggest (in terms of scale) Marvel Studios film so far besides The Avengers of course.

Who's gonna help them since they're technically the only known superheroes in their universe so far.

What about Thor's entourage?

If this is a full scale invasion (with Loki at the helm), I would assume that Odin and Thor's allies would join in the fight.

A Namor movie would have the potential to be utterly visually amazing on a level not seen in superhero films.

And I bet it would out-gross Aquaman, too. :lmao:

they probably would...if they were able. kinda hoping that's not the case.

That would steal a little bit of thunder from the concept of The Avengers forming to take on this threat.

Also Odin has no reason to intervene, since his primary concern is Asgard not Earth.

That didn't stop him from intervening all those centuries ago, and this time it's his own son doing the damage. You'd think he'd take a little more responsibility, lol.

Honestly, I hope there's a situation where the bridge to Asgard has not been re-established, and Thor somehow ends up here another way. Because I don't want to see Odin involved, but his lack of involvement would otherwise seem very...odd.

So, let me guess: you think a "black superhero" has to be African or 'hood? One or the other, right?

News flash: there are very few superheroes, period, that "require" a certain race to portray them, other than consistency with pictures in the funny books. There is nothing inherently "white" about Nick Fury, Kingpin, Catwoman or Heimdall, and yet there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth when black actors/actresses applied for those roles. Same with the new black Spider-Man in the comics....nothing about Spidey is inherently "white." (And before you racial purists try to back up the Heimdall argument with, "but...but....he's a VIKING god"....then the same argument needs to apply to Australians, Brits, Welshmen and Americans playing the roles of Norse gods as well.)

I actually agree more or less, but the bolded I disagree with. Being an acting student myself, the entire issue of race for a role only goes as far as appearance when you're casting someone. If the character needs to be African American, they need only appear African American. It doesn't matter if they're half white, so long as they appear appropriate for the role and can act it effectively. The same with the issue of Norse Gods. They have to appear Norse. So basically, they have to appear as a White European would look. That's all that's required.

Out of the entire group [Avengers], Thor is the only one with divine powers. Ironman, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Nick Fury are primarily human. It is yet to be seen how the Hulk will affect the battlefield's momentum but an Alien Invasion is serious business. From everything we've discovered and witnessed, it is certain that Loki is manhandling the entire squad.

Precisely my thoughts. Loki returning and the Bridge being repaired might bring forth intervention from Odin [himself] and Thor's squad. In fact, hasn't Odin played the role of peacemaker and commander-in-chief to situations and worlds outside of his own?

The Asgardians are locked out of Midgard because Thor shattered the Bifrost. We've assumed from hints picked up about the movie that SHIELD and NASA (possibly helped by Selvig) manage to bring Thor to Earth by means of some device, perhaps powered by the Tesseract. Loki either got to Earth by other means or took advantage of a brief opening to follow Thor. The rest of the Asgardians are still incapable of coming to render aid, presumably.

Yeah he has, and his forces have payed the price for it so he pretty much only worries about Asgard now.

It would not out-rabid the Aqua fans though. Aqua fans got angry when I say both Namor + Aquaman would look silly on screen without cinematic precautions.

However, this isn't just a random opponent. It's Loki. Odin might feel obligated to fend off his son's advances once more.

That would make sense because I don't see Odin nor the Warrior's Three and Sif sitting this one out.

Yet, if the bifrost bridge is indeed operational by the end of the film, I expect to see a fellow ally of Thor's or Odin making a visit.

Look at this.
http://nerdbastards.com/2011/10/16/...sion-of-the-hulk-will-look-like-mark-ruffalo/

Have you guys seen this yet? I was speculating that the Hulk show might still be in the film continuity, explaining what Hulk goes off to do. It doesn't exactly say that, but says the Hulk in the show will look like Ruffalo. And pretty much tells us which characters are featuring in shows instead of movies. And could hint that Ms. Marvel may not make the cut for the avengers.
It says Carol is planned for the small screen in AKAJessicaJones. But who knows, maybe the character could show up in both the tv shows and movies like Hulk.

I really think they're taking this even further and connecting the shows to the film universe. Why have the character look the same? The connections wouldn't have to be major, but they want Cloak and Dagger and Mockingbird on tv too. Maybe this is like the short films idea. And if we don't see a heroes for hire movie we could get a show.

I also remember from a while back that Tim Blake Nelson still has a contract for more appearances as Sterns/The Leader if they need him. Likewise with Abomination. Those actors may actually agree to reprise their roles in the show to fulfill the contract or something. I haven't heard anything about Ruffalo having a contract for future marvel movies/appearances. Anyone know for sure?
Did they plan it this way because they knew Hulk would only be prominent in this first avengers?

I didn't say anyone was, it was a simple statement...how it could be all that different.

Seems like I can't say anything about Thor without it being taken the wrong way these days (geez).

Atlantis would look radically different from Asgard, just from the ocean setting alone. The colors and buildings would be absolutely beautiful. Asgard looked great in Thor, but they didn't show it off as much they should have. I think if Atlantis were done in an MCU movie, it would be more visually stunning than Asgard. I won't know about the other 9 realms until they've been in a movie, though.
