I haven't seen X3 since 2006 and all I remember was seeing it at a midnight show with an enthusiastic crowd so I felt I had a decent time. Went the next day to see it again so I could properly take it all in at a matinee and I literally walked out halfway through. It was just so blah. The uninspired dialogue, the wooden acting, the stupid humor and....Ugh! I just couldn't take it. I felt like I had ants in my pants, I just wanted to get the hell outta there. That was the day that I learned just how bad Brett Ratner is.

X3 is a true cinematic abomination. Uninspired characterisation. Mangling of characters built up in the 2 previous movies. Forgettable dialogue. Boring action. The list of negatives goes on and on.

It was really torture that second time. Hell, even with Batman & Robin I can watch it all the way through just to laugh at it(which to me means it has some entertainment value). X3 just like Spidey3 I simply can't get through, period. I don't hate them. I'm not emotionally or intellectually invested enough in them for that. But they have the same effect on me. Their bad, really bad. XMO:W is the same way for me as well. The only compliment I could really give them is that at least I was able to make it all the way through them at least one time. With something like Catwoman or Elektra, I literally had to mute the movies and just watch them with the captions on....so bad was the acting & delivery in those.

LOL. Dude, you don't have to go that extra mile to absolutely prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have incredibly poor taste and that your opinion is of no value whatsoever.

WE ALREADY KNOW THIS!

You are Alexei Belyakov. LOL.
hey look at it this way, the dvd's been selling great, not to mention both Cap and Thor trounced GL. lol

It wasn't "OMG NOT FAITHFUL TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL!!!" that made X3 the crapfest that everyone (including me, quite vocally) says it was. Instead, it was:

a) the fact that the driving force behind the success of the first two X-movies --- Singer and his team of writers --- left the project for SR;
b) the fact that Tom Rothman was such a *****e that potential replacement directors were rejecting X3 *in public* because they refused to work with Fox again;
c) the fact that Fox went ahead and rushed the project and willed it into being, giving it less than half a year for production, even without a director or script attached at all;
d) the fact that Fox's last minute draftee scraped the bottom of the barrel, Brett Ratner (I'm sure Uwe Boll was their alternate choice :oldrazz:);
e) the fact that the script went through over two dozen rewrites in its short, battered existence;
f) the fact that the finished steaming heap of "product" clocked in at an hour and a half runtime, even though this was supposed to be the "epic" finale.

X3 was a complete waste of celluloid. Utterly.

Well stated!

The entire X3 project was a big middle finger to Bryan Singer and co. for not taking Rothman's bs and moving on to SR.

X2 was a monumental success, both in BO and DVD sales. It cemented the comicbook superhero movie genre in place amidst other established film genres. Rothman (who never supported the genre) was loath to give Bryan Singer his deserved due and, well, we all know the rest.

CA:TFA is my fav movie in ages. It's such an enjoyable fun film with emotionally investable characters and tremendous rewatchability. And I have never been a CAP fan; I love it more than XM:FC and I'm a huge Magneto fan.

Shadowlord, when I read your posts, I have ZERO doubt that you are under the age of 18. That's what I truly despise about the internet. In order for me to have ADULT debates with people I am occasionally [almost always] forced to stomach the outrageous viewpoints of children who just don't have the maturity (yet) to engage in meaningful discussion. I really wish it was a requirement on these boards to verify one's age & have it listed publicly. I would know who's posts to completely disregard.

I have also never been able to watch X3 a second time and as a long time X-MEN fan, I don't even own the DVD.

You deserve real points for being able to watch B&R; I've never been able to watch it even once. I'll take some flack for this but I have also never been able to watch tdk a second time; I find it too boring and intelligence insulting.

XMO:W is a bad movie but I think I had gotten used to the fact that the franchise was going downhill so I can tolerate it; mainly for a good performance from Liev Shreiber and just to see Gambit cinematically.

Well we're dwelling on the last piece of real info we received, which was who was scoring it. As soon as some new stuff comes in then that'll be the subject of the hour.

I think its pretty insane that people post in this thread lamenting about how people aren't talking news and speculation when they themselves have nothing to add to the subject.

Like you said we have no news so people will talk about what they want to talk about.

LOL. Then you would need to ignore your own posts but I'm not sure if that' possible. LOL. Just to let you know I'm 40 years old, a qualified medical professional, and university lecturer. Feel free to ignore me as I'm pretty sure I cannot help you improve your taste.

Oh...

As this is the MOST important day of the year, a.k.a. MAH BIRTHDAY, Wolverine wants everyone to go back talking about Avengers.

Pretty please? With a cherry on top?

Also, CA: TFA rules :cap:

AB, I love all kinds of music myself, just not as knowledgable to music as I am in art. Tho I did play a Coronet as a kid. lol
I just don't see any problems with the score.

Well happy Natal day Suzanne!

I think AB is on some sort of flame bait lunar cycle. His once-a-month thread derailments are like clockwork.

Anyway, enough of that.

I'm encouraged that they've announced the Avengers composer so far in advance. Gives me hope that they're really going to concentrate on having a strong product.

Well happy Birthday Suzanne78. Though I'm afraid the only thing this board has been managing to talk about for the past week is apparently the score. Something I find a bit mind numbing after about ten minutes. Don't get me wrong, I love a film with a great soundtrack, but I just can't find a conversation on it interesting for long.

Too subtle or not enough? lol

I really really really really wish they would release another poster for this movie. That "A" is not that eye catching to the uninitiated. We need butts in seats for this movie. I want it to blow away everything in its path next summer. And...oh yeah, right, if the movie is good too then thats just a plus.:whatever:

Well with the main characters having thier own themes, I'm sure coming up with something wouldn't be that difficult.

lol both

Personally, I'd prefer more concentration on unique themes in the movie rather than attempting to call back too much to previous scores for each of the characters. Let those belong to those franchises. The Avengers is it's own franchise to me and needs it's own unique sound.

Don't take this the wrong way, but let's just try to keep cool.

Thank you! I'll just hope for something Avengers related this next week... or month. I've staked claim on all of November as the Month of Suzanne, so I will take it as a personal gesture of goodwill if Marvel releases something Avenger-y at any point during the next four weeks.

Hey, so who ARE the villains in the Avengers, then? Loki and the Skrulls? Or the Skrulls and Loki? :cwink:
