I really don't think they'd keep the Red Skull a secret, the point of keeping the bad guys or bad guy a secret is b/c it'll be the first time we see them in the MCU.

That's actually a good point. I think they could want to keep Red Skull a secret, but at such lenght... Why Red Skull would be such an important secret when Loki wasn't?

A shame, 'cause Red Skull and Hydra makes a lot more sense than aliens...

How could they keep multiple scenes and filming with Hugo Weaving a secret?

I'm gonna hang to that... I'm gonna be like those guys that said that Phoenix killing Cyclops could be Psylock messing with Jean's head :(

I feel like the days of big surprises like this are done, damn the internet. I'd love it if they could pull off something like this but if a tiny Sam Jackson cameo like in Iron Man gets ruined before release I don't think there's any way. Too many people involved. Seems like the only answer is to stay off the webs. :(

Well they kept certain things a secret... as I said the details of Thors Hammer being at the end of IM 2, the details of the cube being at the end of Thor

Marvel has been getting better, I mean face it as some one else noted the last 'leak' was 5 minute Thor Comic con shots.... since then Marvel security has been very hard to get past

Waiting for this trailer is killing me.

I have IM, TIH, Thor and Cap on Blu-Ray (though IM is regular DVD). I'm lacking IM2.

I've only seen Thor & Cap once. :0

I really need to get the DVDs of those two & IM2 before the week that Avengers comes out. I already have IM & TIH on DVD.

I've only seen Cap once, but that's going to change whenever I buy the DVD/Blu-Ray.

Yeah, but Heroclix already issued movie-specific figures back in the summer to coincide with the movie releases. I don't think they'd just repackage the Thor and CATFA movie packs and say, "OH LOOK, AVENGERS MOVIE PACK." Heroclix players aren't *that* oblivious to paying for the same product twice.

Plus, it's worth pointing out that Heroclix is also currently promoting a Guardians of the Galaxy line (possibly Marvel Studios' next big non-sequel project), which prominently features the lovable, huggable Thanos.

They're doing that exactly right here: http://heroclix.com/heroclix/the-sentinel-of-liberty-reborn/ They're not saying they're only repackaging Thor and Captain America movie figures. They're doing those in addition to new ones for The Avengers.

Look at this ad:http://dl.dropbox.com/u/80851/HCRealms.com/images/poster_mav.jpg You can see a preview of the figures specifically for The Avengers movie. And if you look closer, each one has it's own ID#.

And this forum http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=344191 Has accumulated a list of the figures so far revealed as well their ID#, one of which includes the Captain America WW2 suit (CA:TFA)

Known Figures:
Agent Coulson: (Coulson Ad) New!
Black Widow: Looks like #007. (Advertising poster)
Captain America: (Alliance blurb) Looks like #001, maybe. (Advertising poster)
Captain America: #018, rare, WWII era Cap, different sculpt than the one on the set poster. (Preview)
Hawkeye: Looks like #009. (Advertising poster)
Hulk, The: Looks like #014. (Advertising poster)
Iron Man: Looks like #006. (Advertising poster)
Loki: (Alliance blurb)
Nick Fury: Looks like #035. (Advertising poster)
Red Skull: (Alliance blurb)
Thor: (Alliance blurb) Looks like #004. (Advertising poster)

The toy description also mentioned HYDRA, but no sites are saying Red Skull And HYDRA could appear in Avengers.

The bottom line is that a lot of footage was shot on soundstages, behind closed doors, far from the prying eyes of the geekarazzi. We don't know who showed up to film what kind of soundstage/greenscreen scenes, so there could be several surprises still in store that never got leaked.

In any event, I strongly doubt Red Skull would play a huge role in the movie, if at all, but I could see him making a cameo easily enough. Both Thor and CATFA featured the villains meeting a very similar fate --- i.e., both Loki and Skully vanished into the cosmic void. The setup is right there --- easy enough for them to cross paths and join forces (or butt heads, for that matter) somewhere in another dimension.

Plus, a 21st century HYDRA would likely look entirely different than the WWII costumes. Geekarazzi wouldn't know what to look for in spy pictures.

As far as the WWII-era CATFA HC figure: I'm still wondering if there's a WWII flashback somewhere in the Avengers movie. Keep in mind that IMDB (credibility issues, yes, I know) *still* lists "1940s Soldier" in the cast list.

Not necessarily. Look at Geoffrey Rush at the end of Pirates of the Caribbean 2. No one was expecting him to come back so when he showed up at the end, it was definitely a :wow: moment.

If he does show up it's gotta be a cameo or something similar.

If Skrulls are in the movie maybe we'll get a mix of 616 & some of the Ultimates backstory where they have connections to the Nazis. Cue Flashback. Maybe have them handing over some tech.

The only Coulson Figure that would matter to me is one with that snazzy bullhorn of his. ;)

Happy new year! this means we might get a new trailer this week! yey!

Yeesh! Gotta save something for the Avengers sequel man!! How about the Cap sequel sets up Red Skull and Hydra in modern times then have them be the Big Bad for the second Avengers movie?

"THIS summer some assembly required"

I think it's very possible that the Red Skull may have a cameo in this movie; it may just show his return to Earth. It's also possible that it may have been deliberately left out of pre-screenings (like the one Jordanstine's friend attended) because they know that despite their best efforts reports from pre-screenings hit the net. Thus they might save the small but special surprises.
