It's fairly likely the 3-hour cut was the assembly cut -- where the editor puts together basically everything that was shot in the order of the script. These are usually truly terrible... read enough interviews with new directors and you'll find them all talking about how terrified they were when they saw the initial assembly. It doesn't just mean "45 minutes more of awesome!" The stuff he cut is likely all the awkward pauses, botched transitions, scenes that made the film drag, character moments that didn't quite work, and all the other things that go wrong on any movie. And cutting out 45 minutes is not unusual. I was just working on a small indie film where the assembly edit was 2.5 hours and virtually unwatchable. The final cut ended up being 95 minutes and pretty good.

I vaguely recall references way back to their being some minor easter egg references to both Wendell Vaughn and Carol Danvers. No guarantees, of course, but it'd be easy to fit both in as SHIELD agents.

John Carter is going to be one of the biggest flops in history so Disney needs this and Brave to save the year for them badly.

Brave will be interesting. I mean it looks great, but Cars 2 didn't perform to expectations and got bad reviews.

Yeah, I think Pixar needs Brave to prove they're still tops. I'm really hoping its back up to their usual golden standards.

I don't even think TDKR will be that long. So it might be a bit too long for the general audience.

That is horrendous. Where did this come from? I don't see how this could be an official release. Even in the other crappily uber-Photoshopped one it was crisp and clearly defined.

Most people who saw LOTR probably didn't read the books... I didn't until afterward and those are my favorite movies of all time.

So Cap is going to appear twice in the same banner, once behind Widow and once front and center? Where did this poster even come from, I can't find it on any news site.

EDIT: Not taking a personal jab at ya pal, just need to see/hear it at the source what with all the Photoshop gurus around. The quality on Widow's hands in particular is terrible unless this was a photograph/scan of a lenticular poster
