Every trailer I've seen for Battleship I thought the movie looks horrible.

You mean Battleship.

Yes, it's looking good. I'm looking forward to the aliens. I know everyone that invades us is either trying to take over the world or steal our resources (our both), but I'm really interested in what they come up with for the Regents.

Lol at myself for saying "Battlefield", yeah guys I meant Battleship wtf was I thinking.

It's a trailer. Trailers are supposed to catch a potential view's attention with the explosions, action scenes and quirky one-liners. You really can't tell if the movie will have "substance" from it, when it comes to action movies.

I haven't seen anything from Battleship before seeing that trailer just now and honestly I get a meh feeling, standard action movie.

Guys, guys, what if...

Hear me out, here!

It might sound crazy, but hear me out!

What if...

I said, what if...

Coulson is just Coulson, SHIELD agent and pretty cool guy?

Groundbreaking stuff, huh?

I would love for this to be the case, I say let Captain Marvel be someone else and keep Coulson as a badass SHIELD agent.

I think considering it's origins, it doesn't look that bad. People just have to keep in mind it's just going to be a popcorn flick (hopefully a fun one). Plus it has Liam Neeson, that alone is reason enough to check it out. I don't need to watch Mythbusters to know you can polish a turd, that guy is living proof. Some movies he that appears in just wouldn't be half as good without him.

Tadanobu Asano who played Hogun in THOR is going to be in Battleship, although his role is unspecified at this point.

michael bay action + mediocre to crappy actors (aside from Neeson (who will probably be killed off early) + pop singer in her first acting role... = 90% chance of crap

just sayin:oldrazz:

He was also in MONGOL, as Genghis Khan, great movie.

I saw Battleship, and yea I went meh but I will probably see it anyway

It certainly looks alot better than I ever thought a film based on "Battleship" could look.

lol. yeah but that isn't exactly saying much either...

True and it costs 200 million dollars so they better hope the audiences like it or they could have a GL or John Carter on their hands.

and there will be .. if elements of Civil War are ever put into film. Like i said before. It should only be dealt with if the story allows for it. There's been a lot of civilian deaths... there's no reason to showcase one in a film unless it's actually going to be touched upon.

lets also not forget this is the "dawn of heroes" in the MCU. Many of these events have been isolated (possibly even "hushed" by SHIELD), if they want a realistic take on these heroes... they're going to eventually touch upon what the public thinks about them. And most likely eventually touch upon hero registration.

Yep. My thoughts exactly. You have to raise the bar with this film being that it's the first of it's kind but you don't want to show all your cards.

Captain Yugi Nagata, a Japanese naval officer participating of the joint fleet exercises that predate the alien invasion, and the movie's foes-turned-bros with Taylor Kitsch's character, Alex Hopper.

Of course! But there's no fun discussing that. Especially since he, like, wears the same clothes all the time. Personally I think we're very overdue for Casual Coulson and Malibu Beach House Coulson

john carter is at least getting good word of mouth isn't it? i thought it had decent reviews.. and the people whom i know has seen it, liked it. So who knows.. its still has time for word of mouth (or future cult classic)

This just reminds me of how I wish some movies just didn't cost as much (though spend as much is maybe more applicable in some cases) because in some cases even when a movie is well received and does good business it can still fall short of it's budget. Which pretty much destroys any chance of a sequel in most cases. From what I hear, John Carter may be in that kind of situation or in danger of it.
