He's an amazing actor. I defy anyone to watch Tennant in End of Time part 1 and 2 and tell me he wouldn't be amazing.

Agreed, he is an amazing actor. I even watched the BBC showing of Hamlet (mind you it also had Patrick Stewart amongst others for an added bonus). I'll admit to not finding Shakespeare readily accessible and it went on for a really, really long time, but Tennant puts on a good performance.

Tennant was amazing in the 'United' drama over easter

I missed that one, but I did see the adverts for it. It does seem that Tennant really gets into character and doesn't simply play a version of himself in different films like a lot of actors do. And by that I mean looks and personality.

he is good at getting into his characters....

and the United drama is definitely something to check out if you're a fan of Tennent or Manchester United FC

I'm a big fan of the bard and I loved that Hamlet. He is an amazingly transformative actor, but not even a character actor, he just seems to be able to bring a lot of unique emotional intensity and range to his characters. It's awesome because not only do you get to enjoy each of his characters as their own, living entity but then when you see him talking normally as himself he's still quite different from all his characters but just as awesome. Having him involved with ANY Marvel film would just be a huge, huge boost to the MCU. I could really probably see him in many roles (before Ruffalo was cast, I thought he'd be a good Banner too), but Dr Strange definitely fits to me. He can play brooding and disconnected really well, and there are a lot of similarities between Strange and The Doctor as far as their grand importance goes. I don't think Strange is quite as tragic and lonely a figure as The Doctor though, or as self loathing.

Btw, out of curiosity, does anyone know how Doctor Who has been received in America? That is a franchise that deserves to be so much bigger (although it's perfect the way it is now anyway).

I'm not against Shakespeare so much, but I can find it a bit hard to understand at times. But I do like watching Brannagh's films (I liked Much Ado), plus I really want to see that one with Brian Blessed where they've changed the setting to feudal Japan.

I agree with what you're saying about Tennant. I wasn't sure if he was a character actor though, that's something I associate more with largely comedic actors like Ronnie Barker (doubt much of his stuff made it abroad though). Plus I couldn't really tell what the exact definition of it was, but my guess was that he wasn't quite doing that. Still he's definitely one I keep an eye out for if he's in movies.

Though funnily enough I've not seen Macbeth, but I've seen Akira Kurosawa's version of it 'Throne of Blood'.

That fan made Avengers trailer kicked ass. If it's anything like that then I will explode.

As far as I can tell it has a cult following much like Firefly, Warehouse 13, etc. I know 2 people who watch it regularly. Its still mainly a "cult" thing though.

Its a good show though, I agree.

How can he be an amazing actor when his face is constantly stuck in this expression: :wow:
His eyes are always popping out and his eyebrows are always raised.

You mean thats what he always looks like in the promo pics for Doctor Who? Or when he's in a jolly mood? Because otherwise, you clearly don't know him that well.

Well i've only seen him on Dr Who and he's always like that. Like "OMFG is that Cthulthu?"

Well again, you obviously haven't watched all that much of it because he was probably one of the most grim and human doctor of recent. He would switch so quickly between sombre or viciousness. Incredibly dynamic. Thats why I referenced End of Time 1 and 2. No smiles there.

Also, I think everything else i've ever seen him in has been quite serious and dramatic too

I've seen a few episodes and i'm guessing that he has that eye condition or something. I mean i doubt he's expressing himself like that on purpose. So that doesnt mean that his Doctor is bad, just that his eyes are distracting me.

Sorry Wolvie.

That's okay. It's just pretty easy to be judgemental and dismissive of something at a glance. I notice you have a Robin avatar..... He's pretty...cool

What do you mean? Are you being sarcastic? I cant tell.

I love your avy btw. One of the funniest parts of the movie!

Merely pointing out that from my perspective, having only read a couple of Batman comics, Robin looks like the lamest character ever. I KNOW that he's probably got a lot of depth as a character who's been around lot, but as an outsider it's easier to be dismissive than actually read any comics to understand him better.

But i'm only judging his eyes. I just said that his eyes pop out for 80% of each episode of Doctor who and that's more of a fact than an opinion. Its like he's always going "WTF is this?"
