Or 'Jackie Chan' as the Shield agent called him.

I'm thinking the same thing, it might be just one race- the 3 toed baddies with the metal visors. I haven't seen any of them using the Kree-looking weapons we saw from the set pics though.

Thats what I have been saying ALLL along, just one race haha.

Hill's personality in EMH is consistent with what she's like in the comics, I believe. From what Samuel L. Jackson and Clark Gregg have said, Hill opposed the Avengers Initiative and clashes with Fury and Coulson constantly. They're likely setting her up to challenge Fury for control of SHIELD later on.

Frankly, although I realize Hill's purpose I don't have any use for her in any medium. She's like Henry Peter Gyrich on estrogen. The writers seem to lack the ability to create adversarial characters with any redeeming qualities.

Exactlyy

(sorry for the multi-posts, I have multiple tabs open, the main page I am not logged in, so I can't click, "multi quote", instead, just open tab to respond, sorry guys, laziness. just wokeup after a late night

But having Jan romanically involved with someone else WOULD be developing their relationship. Adding a complication into the mix would be doing just that.

Its not a soap opera haha they wouldn't take it that far.

That Japanese Avengers poster is a travesty. Clearly they should have used Captain America front and centre to advertise to a Japanese audience :P

How would that be going TOO far in order to set up a love triangle?

Also, I hate to say it, but there is a great deal of similarity between Soap Operas and Comic books.

Don't even play. Sarcasm notwithstanding you know this movie's future depends on the placement of characters on a Japanese poster. Definitely shouldn't have the most famous actor in front

I get the feeling Hawkeye will not say much in this movie. More silent sniper than 616 Hawkeye. A pity, really. Well, RDJ will have to make up for it.

Too many snarky smart asses might be overload. Its like Singer's reasons for not putting Gambit in a movie with Wolverine. (even though we got that in wolverine's movie.) He said that two anti-heroes was too many and would take away from Wolverine.

Point is, is that, yeah, he may not know the Avengers, but thats part of the main plot, its the main reason for the movie. Jane on the other hand, was not really the MAIN plot/story in Thor, she was a side story. That movie was about Thor learning humility and how to be a better individual, and what it means to be an a true Asgardian. The Avengers is about this team, so I think its safe to say, you can't really compare Thor's relationship with his fellow avengers to his relationship with Jane, one is the pain part of the film's story, the other, is not.

Catch my drift dude? :word:
I do .
Well Said
It is just that between here and The Thor thread I hear this talk About Thor And Jane and how they only knew each other for two days .
Romance under extreme circumstances is a big part of action movies.
Take Speed , for example.
They only had HOURS to fall in love .
But, they did it .
It is done all of the time and it is not that rare a thing in the history of film
Somtimes I think fans would gladly write The Widow and other female characters out of this movie , As well as ALL Superhero movies in general .

anyone else think it was unfair for Volstagg not to get a nickname?
At first I wondered why he didn't but then (and I think this was a deleted scene, someone can correct me if I'm wrong), Volstagg apparently wasn't originally in that shot, it was just Sif, Fandral and Hogun and the 'reveal' of the scene was Volstagg coming up behind the 2 agents and knocking them out. When that scene got axed they put Volstagg into the scene (digitally?) but the dialogue remained the same.

The marketing team really needs to get fired. That Japanese trailer was WAY better than any of the US ones.

Japanese trailers are always better than the American counterparts.

The Japanese trailer had more footage but it wasn't necessarily the better edited trailer. The American final Avengers trailer was the best I think.

Although I agree that Japanese trailers tend to be way better. Brave's Japanese trailer for example was leagues better than any of the American ones.

So love triangle equates to a soap opera?

Okay, clearly I used the wrong word:woot:

what I meant was that it seems like people are trying to make the love story too much more than what it needs to be, considering its not the main plot of the movie. And I don't know about you guys, but I just get a bad feeling about romance in comic book movies. Am I the only one who wants to see ZERO romance in these movies? Like in the avengers. After the spiderman films, i just get so nervous about these marvel movies that have romance in them.

Which is why I am one of those fans who think romance needs to be written out of super hero movies, unless, its not major, and takes more than one film to develop a "relationship"

Huh, didnt know that,

So yea, I watched the Japanese trailer last night sans sound because I was in the living room at the time watching the movie

The Avengers doesn't really need a love story but it worked out perfectly fine for Captain America, Thor, Hulk/TIH, and the Iron Man films.

I don't understand the desire from some fans to see love/romance completely omitted from the movies. For me that would take out a lot of what makes these character focused movies good. It gives depth to the character and a large sense of humanity.

Anybody else notice Cap and what seems to be IM in the back. If IM is in the back then that's strange why isn't he flying?

[BLACKOUT]They're escorting Loki back to the helicarrier but Thor shows up and rips a hole in the quinjet and rescues Loki. This leads into Cap's skydive in the air and their fight with Thor in the forest.[/BLACKOUT]

My problem is that it's so overused now, pretty much every single superhero movie has a love interest storyline going on, it'd be nice to divert from the norm and explore the character in other ways besides the love interest.

I'm sure everyone in Japan wants to see the world war 2 veteran front and center. Nope. No reason for anyone in Japan to be hesitant to watch a movie about world war 2 heroes. Nope:woot:

Yep, my thoughts exactly. Especially in an ensemble film with so much going on. It removes a sense of realism from the storyline when every film forces an unnecessary romantic subplot. More important stuff is going on, no time for nookie.
