You mean something like this?

They nailed Odin in Thor and General Ross in TIH. SLJ doesn't count He's playing a character that was actually based off of him. :funny:

Hiya guys - first time poster by long time reader.

Reason for posting?? Because I am the guy who put THIS together.

I noticed a few comments and questions about it. So if you wanna ask about it or think that the whole thing is wrong then please let me know.

All I will say that although it is a work in progress and nothing is ever perfect, it isn't thrown together either. Everything about it is well thought through - although some of you guys made not always agree with the results!

Anyway - looking forward to your comments.

Darn... This thread moves too quickly these days lol

They didn't nail General Ross in TIH. Elliot's version was better. Hurt's version was just a cliche, one dimensional, firebrand military General. Ross should have some conflict in him.

Anyway... I didn't realise Paltrow was in this until i saw the Japanese trailer. Good to see her return, would have been a bit iffy with her complete absence I think.

:wow: yes! can't wait till they bring out the Capt. America and Loki/Thor one's. wonder when they'll be released?

Idk about that; I mean with Hurt's Ross, I remember actually seeing that he cared about his daughter in his own way, and the whole ending where he allowed Banner/the Hulk to go (for the time being) showed some kind of development imho.

oh and the new images are flippin awesome! love the locker ones.

OMG I about died watching that interview with Hiddleston. I LOVE it when Hiddleston does impressions of his cast mates (and he always seems to get Evans' perfectly *lol*)

Also does anyone else think he seemed...I don't know... uncomfortable during that interview? I've watched plenty of interviews with him, even ones that tend to be a bit silly, and he's usually fairly relaxed and easy going, but this one, like I said, he seemed a bit uncomfortable. Maybe it's just me though.

And oh my goodness, freshman... all the new pics you posted :wow::hrt::wow::hrt: *LOVE 'EM!!!!* especially the Hawkeye ones (he's definitely in my top 3 for most anticipated characters in this - the other two being Loki & Thor)

He only seemed to care about her after she nearly died in the helicopter crash, which he was responsible for.

Then after that at her house he didn't seem to bothered about arresting her as a fugitive.

Are we really comparing the marketability of Marvel's longstanding #1 most iconic character to Ant-Man? Really?

I only brought it up because both of their names are ridiculous. You can't say Ant-Man will be a risk because of his name, not when Spider-Man, Iron Man, Superman, and Batman are out there (and popular). Most of the character names from the 40s, 50s, and 60s are awful.

"What does he turn into?"
"A giant, sir."
"Call him...GIANT MAN."
"Genius."

For the record, I can't stand Pym and couldn't care less if he's in the Avengers franchise, but I love me some Wasp and, unfortunately, you can't have one without the other.

Those high res pics are AWSOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait

The monitor on the left. Is that Asgard? Can anyone decipher what's on the other monitors?

That Hiddleston radio interview made my day. Funny guy.

Just listened to it, great interview. Especially when he does that impression of Samuel L Jackson LOL

Not seeing anything in your link. Perhaps a link to the post, or to the thing you put together?

oh you created that! dude well done, i think the only thing someone else mentioned was the birth of Hulk was actually in 2003, not 2006, but other than that it's great!

Yeah, Ross stated that he'd been on the run for 5 years prior to the events of TIH(assuming TIH occured sometime in 2008).

What Poni said.

Also, although I understand your point, JB, I don't think even the pre-existence of SHIELD makes it any easier to introduce Hawkeye and Widow. Although we as fanboys assume that everyone's already seen all the prequels, Joss (and any future Avengers director/writer) isn't assuming that at all. They have to operate under the premise that most, if not all, of their ensemble movie is brand new to the audience; they're not going to require you to see the other movies in order to understand/appreciate this one.

Therefore, even if you wedge an Ant-Man solo film in *before* Avengers 2, again: the writers/director of Avengers 2 can't assume that audiences will have seen that film.

Re: Hawkeye and Black Widow, its not quite the same thing. They still require characterization and establishment. . . but what they *don't* need is selling the audience on some new element of phlebotinum. All the audience needs to know is "elite SHIELD operative", and they will go "okay, badass normal, gadgets, gotcha." As opposed to if someone flew in and started shooting energy blasts, where it would take a lot more than three words to sell to the GA where the hell they came from and why they can do that.
