Based of Twitter, it seems like everyone got their phones back and the movie is over.

The Avengers - Epic. EPIC! Everyone fights everyone, but it does deliver. Marvel's movies get better every single one. Hulk! HULK!!

Yet, X-Men and Hulk had famous tv shows. While TIH and First Class raked in modest numbers at the Box Office, they still remain far more popular in the GA's minds.

I think the big green muscular beast is just as recognizable as Supes.

world wide, the most recognizable heroes are easily Supes, Bats, Spidey, Wolverine, Hulk, and Wonderwoman imo.

To be fair he specified Wolverine, not just X-Men.

True. But what I was thinking of was all of the hype and "blockbuster" status assigned to X:FC by fans and critics, when in fact it made significantly less than CA:TFA domestically and less WW. It doesn't make sense to me when you compare the performance of the two films.

Also, despite Hulk being an overwhelming favorite among comics fans, his films have performed woefully at the box office. That suggests to me that the character doesn't resonate with the GA in quite the way fans (and studio execs) assume that it does. That can chance with a proper script, of course, but as of now he has not demonstrated the popularity most ascribe to him.

A random fan loves it...

Just got out of @Avengers. Whedon did not fail us!

...as well as the famous Mr. Beaks!

THE AVENGERS. Finally, a Marvel film with a rousing finish. I'll deal with the first two acts in my review.

:awesome:

Peter from Slashfilm and Steven from Collider are probably standing in the cellphone line together because they both have yet to tweet and both promised to when it was over, lol.

Well, Smallville may be popular here in the U.S., but I don't think it has a global audience like the way blockbuster movies have. If The Avengers really turn out to be a huge phenomenon, people will start mistaken Green Arrow for Hawkeye.

Yeah, people couldn't care less about GA.

Looks like another random fan:

Just got out of the Avengers premiere. My favorite superhero film ever, no hyperbole.

This one cracks me up :D

Finished watching #Avengers but can't get up on account of this visible erection.

I'd tweet about The Avengers but my body is still recovering from non-stop geeking out. So, so, so much fun (for the most part).

Reads like some enjoyed the hell out of it but there's some noticeable flaws in it.

Iron Man already is on the list, IMO.

I'm not so certain on that yet. Iron Man just recently got into the spotlight in 2008. Spiderman, Superman, Hulk, X-Men, Batman and JLA have been on tv for years, on the other hand.

I agree. Iron Man will probably be on that list soon.

I usually explain my list by the idea of "if i take an image of this character to any part of the world.. who are the most recognizable... even in third world countries.

Sounds like there are some reservations about the first half of the film, but they don't seem major.
