The Avengers The Avengers: News and Speculation - Part 27A sub-se - Part 7

I don't know where the interview is but I definitely remember that Feige said all the mutants were with Fox and that the contract contained a "long, long, long list," under which I'd think Wanda and Pietro would be contained. But I've also read that Namor is technically considered a mutant and he's with Marvel so who knows for sure.

well he didn't say "all", the artical did. Fox has a LONG list of what they can use, it's all speculation until someone who knows say so.

I definitely got a whole bunch of questions from people who follow me on Twitter, and one of the things that a lot of people ask me was can you clarify which mutants Marvel owns and which Fox/Sony/Universal might have or is not something that you want to talk about?
Feige: Well, Fox has mutants and Sony/Universal…Universal doesn’t have anything. Sony’s got Spidey and Ghostrider, and those family of characters. And Fox has X-Men and Fantastic Four and Daredevil and those family of characters. But any mutants in particular? Mutants are X-Men.
Is there a possibility for any of the X-mutants that are maybe lesser known to be in a Marvel movie or is it all encompassing like the Fox deal?
Feige: It’s pretty all encompassing. I mean they’re very specific character by character. Every character they have the rights to have is named specifically in contracts. And it’s a long, long, long list.
Is there a thing…
Feige: So Dazzler for instance would be Fox.
Oh.
Feige: Because she’s a mutant.

But what i do remember is Scarlet Johanson saying there were a couple other roles she discused with Marvel. Blonde Phantom and Scarlet Witch. So who knows who has what

“There were different characters, like Moon, and…what’s her name, the Scarlet Witch?” Johansson said. “The Blonde Phantom, that’s another one we talked about, perhaps, unless I’m getting it all wrong. There were a couple that I kind of, like, looked through and thought, ‘OK, these are characters that maybe could work somewhere.’”

it's all incredibly cryptic either way... It's like Marvel is purposely not talking about Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver... when they're the 2 biggest mutants in question.

Never said he was, but he is in the movie, McFly. My main point was that you were reaching in your statement, just as I reached in mine to illustrate the point.

I wasn't "reaching". Even Hawkeye is in the poster, and he's got only seconds of silverscreen so far.

Black Widow not being there (and she's the only Avenger girl by now) is really noticeable. And not in a good way, I might add.

I just read that poster as a classic, retro design of the original, classic Avengers. Feel free to read into one artists interpretation though.

no not really...there are plenty of mutants that havent been in the movies...Apocalypse hasnt been in theses movies...is he at Marvel? Thunderbird, Warpath, Boom Boom, any of the New Mutants, Avalanche, Sabra??????

^ And also Cap.

It's not a big deal. Thor, Iron Man, Cap, Hulk and Hawkeye are more recognisable as an Avengers team. And the poster is awesome.

Awsome are only the gods in Mount Olympus. The poster is certainly cool, and the art is ingenious.

And it is chauvinistic. :oldrazz:

I would say the distinction is that Black Widow is an Avenger in this movie, Nick Fury is not. I get where you're coming from Merc, in that for some reason that poster includes 5 of the 6 Avengers from this flick, but I don't think it's necessarily chauvinistic.

You can't mention hazing around Tom Hiddleton. Do they know the fangirls the Thor movie has bred? Loki getting hazed by the Avengers is their primary kink.

i saw the most awesome entertaining Avengers movie related clip ever. AND YOU HAVE NOT! lol

Are we really not getting a tease until Christmas?!

I hope whatever they're planning on showing at Comic-Con, leaks online...again.

I would imagine that if that tweet is legit, it's what 'may' get shown at the LA times bash that's happening at the mo (where the Cap trailer will première tomorrow)

Maybe the Skrulls worship Thanos and alter their appearance (chins) to look like him? They are shape-changers afterall. A physical representation of worship.

Skrulls are scumbags, but they're no fools and they wouldn't worship an Eternal.

...really....?

Kly'bn was the last of the Skrullian Eternals, the sole survivor of the Deviant uprising led by Sl'gur't. He became the primary god of the Skrull pantheon, and a radical sect of his followers led the Secret Invasion of Earth.

In fact, I can easily envision a filmic version of 2008's "Secret Invasion" being the crux of the Avengers storyline, with Thanos replacing Kly'bn in the Skrullian jihadist mode.

since he's kinda confirmed. do you guys think he should have his own thread?

for me, he was the best part of thor. barely over hopkins and hemsworth.

all 3 Hs were amazing, really.

Triple H for Thor!! :woot:

That's a recent addition made to the comics no more than few years ago. Skrulls used to be one branch of the Deviants offshootsonly , who loathe the Eternals. In the article it states that the Skrull-Deviants(original Skrulls) tried to wipe them out because they were an Eternal branch of their race, which was my original point.

I doubt the Avengers movies would get so complicated into the different branches of the Skrull empire.

Basing the Avengers movie around the Secret Invasion is a good idea.
