Hahaha I certainly am jaqua. Going on 7 years now!!! In retrospect I would've picked a geekier name when setting up my Hype account but this one stuck lol.

Most of the 'spoilers' in here are just teases :P

Yes, and they've maintained that they aren't a huge player and the race doesn't realy matter. As to why they kept it a secret; good promotial tactic. Think about it. Nerds raged for months on imdb, here, cbm etc... about who they were. Discussion = awareness.

And revelation=disappointment.

I'm still going to see this movie, and I'm still going to enjoy the hell out of it, because I mainly want to see the heroes anyway, not the villains. But by building up the hype for the villains over months and months, and then when the "big reveal" turns out to be a dud (unless this is the point at which, suddenly, thousands of "fans" crawl out of the woodwork and reveal that they've always loved the Chitauri all along....:whatever: it's gonna happen....) , then there's going to be more than a little backlash from fanboys who were expecting someone/something else.

Would've made far more sense from a hype standpoint just to fess up about the villains from the beginning, or to just invent a new race altogether for the film (since that's essentially what they did; these things bear no resemblance whatsoever to Chitauri).

I think the more likely scenario is that Marvel Studios was juggling this with lawyers and Bullpen (and studio) politicians from the beginning, and they had no idea who "Loki's Army" would turn out to be until the last minute. As people have pointed out, the first drafts *did* feature the Skrulls, and plenty of early toy and game tie-ins pointed towards Skrulls. At some point, they realized/decided they couldn't use the Skrulls, so they backed up and punted.

Sweeet, I know I derailing the topic, but I have one name I have to bring up to you, withyou being a drummer...John Bonham?

If I could go back in time I change my name to "KingThor" instead of "BigThor", oh well I guess it's gonna have to do.

I think at one point, the aliens were the Skrulls and at another part they were from the Annihilation Wave. Because they seemed the most obvious. But, I still kinda believe that Skrulls were never in the movie, only in Zak Penn's script and then Joss re-wrote it.

Yep. They sold ASM merchandising rights and won't be paying for ASM 3D glasses...meaning if you go see ASM in 3D, you now have to pay for the glasses. If ASM isn't a hit, I think Sony Pictures goes byebye.

Holy crap.

Bonham is my idol. Top tier among everyone. I plan on getting his Zeppelin IV symbol as a tattoo within the next few years! :woot:

I think you're missing the bigger picture in all this

Loki has an Army....that is the draw....super powered/god guy wants to conquer earth and uses even more superpowered god guy's Army....this A) makes for an interesting reason to assemble a team of super heroes, B) It sets up a sequel involving Thanos and C) I think most importntly saves the Skrulls for the 3rd movie

everyone is concerned that they won't be able to top Thanos.....two words: Kree's and Skrulls.

I've never felt who the army is is as important as the fact that it is an army.....so much time is going to be spent on our heroes that we don't really have forever to develop this alien race this time around...focus on Loki and just acknowledge the fact he's got an army and invade the earth....when we have more time to develop something in future movies we can focus on the race of Skrulls and Kree (maybe in an Inhumans movie?)

Sony Pictures will be gone by the end of the year, and that's a FACT. Lemme find the article. Idk why people still say Marvel will never get the rights back to Spider-Man....... The rights are basically in their hands.

I was one of those. It's not. NEVER even crossed my mind.

So, this is Joss Whedon's Jaws (Spielberg was mostly a TV man before he made his theatrical debut with Jaws, and we all know how that turned out for him!)

you people seem to forget that this is all working under disney now.hence the huge budget for avengers and a much bigger film then previous 5(hulk,iron man 1,2,captain,thor)
and seeing how disney lost a couple of big possible franchises-prince of persia, sorcerers apprentice ,john carter and you cant really make a sequels to alice in wonderland-i see them giving big money on marvel films.
that is why i think iron man 3 will be as twice as big as previous 2 in terms of action and locations around the world and thor 2 to be an even bigger film then avengers.
not to mention that avengers 2 idea from whedon to be a smaller ,personal film will never pass

Thor - the original mullet

Somebody on CBM is claiming that the post-credits scene involves Loki looking for the Infinity Gems and deliberately trying to get caught so he can return to Asgard to collect the Gauntlet. Apparentally, one Gem is in Wakanda and another is on Attilan.

I don't want ASM to bomb, but I do want Spidery to go back to Marvel Studios. :spidey: Maybe if it makes money but didn't live up to expectation, then Sony will sell the rights back to MS.

And Serenity was his Duell, a tv film that opened on cinemas in Europe (and i supose it did so in USA too?)

BTW: I dont think Serenity looks like tv either, at worst like a low budget movie, wich for the genre it was, at points; but for some people it does. Duell doesnt look much like a tv film either, really. Perhaps sometimes...

Lets not forget people like Frankenheimer and Lumet; theur movies looked like tv too, acording to some critics of the time... Nobody care nowadays and they were very influential.

And I trust him, as he leaked Walking Dead spoilers repeatedly and was always correct.
