I have a question wich is a bit dificult i guess for those who are not familiar with Whedons work at large.

In the trailers i have seen two of the actors who worked with Joss on his series Dollhouse.

Who plays a policeman and the other is Ashley Johnsosn.

I remember her from Growing Pains. Damn she grew up to be so hot.

as Thor would say....

EBERT IS AN OLD MAN AND A FOOL!!!!!!! :yay:

Of course he is ;) Has some valid points but well... some things are just not for artsy people :D (understanding of modern fantasy is one of those things... I have some very open minded and well respected art professors at my uni that can interpret the s*** out of any blank canvas but when confronted with fantasy they begin to stutter XD)

Does the element Tony discovered/made in IM2 factor into the story?

is it downey and ruffalo filming the scene?

if so i think it will be just some extra scene with the two of them hanging out at stark's apartment, just chillin like new best buddies :yay:

maybe they got some hot girls over or they just discussing science or maybe they drunk haha (can banner get drunk?)

To add fuel to the fire, io9 posted that Hemsworth was apparently part of the mysterious post-movie post-credit scene, too, as he was seen with "battle damage" makeup on heading towards the same shoot that Ruffalo and RDJ were allegedly going to. Allegedly.

The situation with Rhodey...is there a plausible reason why he isn't present in this film, considering he's a soldier who takes orders and has the War Machine?

War Machine or even Rhody is never mentioned once in any way. It was best for them to stray away from the problems of the individual films as much as possible.

This is it's own film.

War Machine & Easter Egg answers

No mention whatsoever. I didn't see any easter eggs either, but thats not to say that there were some. I think Whedon wanted to focus on the story at hand and not setting up the next story.

If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me guys. I'll be happy to answer them.

Well, that's just stupid. A global invasion and you need all the help you can get and you don't even reference the War Machine?

Knock number one....

It's not stupid at all J. Howlett. And it wasn't really a global invasion.

Also J. Howlett this happens in comics all the time, where are such and such heroes while all this is going on? Get over it dude.

If nothing is mentioned, you could quite easily make up a reason and be right because there is nothing to contradict it.

Rhodey's suit ran out of power and the military couldn't figure out how to work it. There, it's that easy.

Okay, maybe it's not a global invasion but if you're Rhodey and you see your best friend knee deep in an alien altercation and you're in position of the War Machine, do you at least think it's worth a mention why Rhodey isn't in the flick?

I'm not saying he should be part of the team but at least mention why the hell the War Machine isn't in the fight.

That's just basic movie logic if you've been following the MCU...

...but, I'll let it slide, I guess.

Considering the last time we saw him, he flew off with the suit, that doesn't really work....

Quick note on the Hulk and people who had some questions(mainly cause I haven't seen anyone make this connection yet)

So I saw it was questioned why Ruffalo's Hulk kinda loses it in the midst of what's going on in the Helicarrier while he seems to have a certain level of control during the finale battle.

1) As someone else pointed out, it was Loki's goal to incite a Hulk incident on the Helicarrier. There's a big argument between the heroes dealing with some of S.H.I.E.L.D's activities that seems to be partially influenced by Loki's scepter in the room with them. Lets just say it heightens the emotion in an already tense situation which added to Bruce losing complete control.

2) But as far as him having a semblance of control is concerned. Remember that TIH is still part of the continuity here despite the recasting. And if I recall correctly, the last scene of TIH actually alluded to Banner learning to control his transformation and the Hulk himself. I think this is actually a clever nod to that idea.

Oh give me a ****ing break. You're just looking for things to complain about.

...but, I'll let it slide, I guess.

That's very kind of you. I'm sure everyone at Marvel Studios just breathed a collective sigh of relief.

No one watching the movie gave a **** that War Machine wasn't there.

How the **** is it "something to complain about"?

With an alien invasion, wouldn't you want as many "hands on deck" as possible to defeat the enemy? Hawkeye can be in the Avengers with a bow and arrow but War Machine, with tech EXACTLY like Iron Man's can't?

You introduce the War Machine but decide to leave him in the Iron Man world until Tony returns, then we Tony deals with a new villain in Iron Man 3, War Machine can come out to play.

That's just dumb logic. Again, a reference that Rhodey took damage on the battle field in Afghanistan (on some mission) and is on leave and he's the only one Tony trusts with the War Machine so no War Machine within this film and you wouldn't even here me bring up the damn situation.

Christ, it's like if anyone asks a logical question about the logic of the narrative and it actually makes sense, people get pissed that someone's ripping the movie, when in fact, I'm not. It's a reasonable question.

Even my wife asked why War Machine isn't in the film and she's only seen the films, like me...

Iron Man and War Machine are too similar, so what is the point in them both being in the film

Better to have variety

War Machine is better suited to being in Iron Man solo films, as either ally or enemy

Who is the principal waitress who looks out the REstaurant window while destruction inssues outside on the trailer.

I am curious as if they have at least one line or two on the movie, even if Ashley might be the famous waitress everybody is talking about, or they are just a "blink and you´ll miss them" cameo for Joss and Dollhouse fans.
The waitress has a line at the end about how Capt America saved her talking to a news crew

That's not a good reason to a general audience member. At all.

Well personally I don't need every single little detail explained to me like I'm five. Are you incapable of filling in the blanks yourself? Is it really that critical to shoehorn in a line about Rhodey being indisposed or busy elsewhere? The movie is busy enough as it is. No one but fanboys are going to care anyway.

yeah I'm sure Joe Average is going to come stumbling out of the theater howling "Where was teh War Machine?!? This movie is roooned!"

"the war council" (some heads of state including SecDev) would have been against it. Fury defied their orders and enacted the Avengers Initiative. They got pissed and ordered military to drop nukes on the city which Iron Man needed to divert.
Rhodes is under their orders, not Fury's
