Well personally I don't need every single little detail explained to me like I'm five. Are you incapable of filling in the blanks yourself? Is it really that critical to shoehorn in a line about Rhodey being indisposed or busy elsewhere? The movie is busy enough as it is. No one but fanboys are going to care anyway.



yeah I'm sure Joe Average is going to come stumbling out of the theater howling "Where was teh War Machine?!? This movie is roooned!"

If they can shoehorn in of how Thor returns to Earth and why he doesn't look for Jane upon his arrival instead of leaving him on Earth at the end of his own film so you don't have to shoehorn in how he gets back, I think you can have a mention of what's up with War Machine.

But nevermind me, I'm trolling with a legit question.

Christ, it's like if anyone asks a logical question about the logic of the narrative and it actually makes sense, people get pissed that someone's ripping the movie, when in fact, I'm not. It's a reasonable question.

Logically you could scream about why Odin doesn't just come to Earth and stop Loki, or why don't Sif and the Warriors Three accompany Thor to help him defeat Loki.

It's not something that needs to be answered for the narrative to progress, all it does is divert time from the meat of the story. Like someone said make up your own reason he isn't there in combat, it's as good as any. Feige might insist that in Iron Man 3 there is a reference to it, then it'll be answered. If not then your made up answer will suffice.

"the war council" (some heads of state including SecDev) would have been against it. Fury defied their orders and enacted the Avengers Initiative. They got pissed and ordered military to drop nukes on the city which Iron Man needed to divert.
Rhodes is under their orders, not Fury's

How the **** is it "something to complain about"?

With an alien invasion, wouldn't you want as many "hands on deck" as possible to defeat the enemy? Hawkeye can be in the Avengers with a bow and arrow but War Machine, with tech EXACTLY like Iron Man's can't?

You introduce the War Machine but decide to leave him in the Iron Man world until Tony returns, then we Tony deals with a new villain in Iron Man 3, War Machine can come out to play.

That's just dumb logic. Again, a reference that Rhodey took damage on the battle field in Afghanistan (on some mission) and is on leave and he's the only one Tony trusts with the War Machine so no War Machine within this film and you wouldn't even here me bring up the damn situation.
