The Avengers The Avengers Post Screening Review & Discussion Thread (SPOILER FILLED) - Part 5

YES - He looked VERY red to me. Maybe it was the 3D glasses. But my first thought was "Red Skull...???":wow:

I think I have the answer; you got passed these at the cinema entrance, didnt you?

:cwink:

Just joking.

To clarify, in the movie 'T' was about as purple as a purple thing can be.

Some people did ask that. My Dad soon corrected them...

Ok so I watched the movie last night and I honestly have to say I am going to give it a 7/10 at best and that is being generous. I felt like the movie was very poorly put together
and it was all jam packed in for the last 30 minutes of the movie for the "war" which did not last as long as I had hoped and for it to all end in the classic lets use a nuke tactic was kind of a cheap easy way out. I have never been a fan of the Whedon comedic relief I felt like it was not funny the little lines that they used to make fans laugh the only part I can really recall laughing at was when Hulk got his hands on Loki and of course when RDJ talked. It was overall a good popcorn movie and I would buy it on DVD but for as being as good as everyone made it sound it was not the case I will not be watching it again, nothing really stuck out to me in the movie. My favorite scenes were the scenes with the hulk and Hawkeye the rest of the scenes seemed forced and fake. I will say I was excited on the small easter eggs and the set up for the next movie but I wanted to be honest about what I thought of the movie.

I might be stupid here lol, but wasn't
the Nuclear missile actually a tesseract powered missile?

Unless I missed something, or just interpreted it differently lol

Regular nuke. They still weren't able to Harness the power of the cube.

Ah right, thanks.
I thought
because the tesseract power in the sceptre was able to penetrate the force-field around Selvig's device, that the only way to destroy them was with the tesseract WMDs.

Thanks alot for clearing that up. Can't wait to watch it again!

They simply didn't know. Their Philosophy was, when everything goes to hell, nuke it.

Question -

How long is this interview sequence near the end of the film? Is it one of those montage things where they show a number of civilians giving their reactions in short order (like in Spider-Man) and establishes each Avenger as well-known to the public at large?

question ?

i havent seen it yet but why does it seem from the clips that Loki seems to know who all the super heros are like the Hulk..I read somewhere he knew exactly who Cap was..was Loki on earth for some time before the movie..from all the clips and spoilers it seems little odd loki seemed to just happen to know who everyone is ?

Like less than 3-5 minutes. Its a montage of reactions, Stan Lee's cameo is in it, but mostly dwells on the waitress that Captain America saved. Establishes the Avengers as well known.

It's all shown on the flat screen computers inside of the hellcarrier; with various channels/clips shown of various things:

1. You see crowds of people thanking each Avenger or talking about the heroics that they saw displayed from each member

2. You see people using street art to create their faces and logos onto the walls

3. Some are getting haircuts and tattoos that represents their favorite hero.

4. We have some asking on where they've gone now, while another clips shows a congressman saying on how the so called "heroes" need to answer for the damage that they've created.

I'm assuming that he learned all of that info by either seeing/learning all of that info from Selvig's perspective before his arrival on Earth or from hearing about it from Hawkeye from when he was under his control. Loki mentioned on how he learned all about Natasha's back story (her bloody past) from Hawkeye.

There are a ton of bootleg clips all over YouTube.

Hulk smashing Loki
Banner returning for final battle and turning into Hulk
Hulk punching Thor
Hulk chasing Widow on the carrier then fighting Thor
Iron Man Thor fight
Tony-Loki confrontation
Tony on the carrier bridge (Galaga scene)
Hulk catching Iron Man at the end

Not hard to find. A bunch came up as "related" when looking for trailers and interviews. Proceed at your own risk....

I'm saddened the scene with Captain America and Iron Man fighting Loki in Germany hasn't made it up yet.

That's the only thing I don't like about Hulk punching Thor, it's probably going to garner some stupid "Hulk owns Thor" comments.

Your opinion is invalid :o
I give it a 10 out of 10. My only complaint is that there weren't enough easter eggs. I wanted to see AIM on the attackers of SHIELD and a quick hint to another Marvel character. Apart from that, it was perfect. I was so proud to be a Marvel reader.

Well, you clearly missed the part where they said they spotted Loki in Stuttgart. And the whole "The last time I was in Germany..." line from Cap. Not to mention the green Police Car that says "Polizei".

Lol, I guess I didn't take it that literally at the time. And yeah, I missed the rest.

So, in the footage I've seen on youtube, there's...

Soldiers assaulting the bridge of the Hellicarrier. Who are they? Terrorist organization, or just former crew of SHIELD under Loki's control?

Well he did owned Thor in that scene :woot:

No seriously, that scene works on a comedic level, after it has been acknowledged that Hulk and Thor are on par with each other. Hulk just doesn't like competition... and has an attitude about it.

Wait ... a newly created member (with a handle which makes it clear he's a Star Wars and Batman fan) is trashing the film? Go figure.

Man some people seriously have no lives.
