watching the movie right now... i genuinely enjoy this film, so much nostalgia..
he's campy, but they got Batman SOOO right. . this Batman obviously doesn't work for today, but it's still undeniably Batman... i'm so glad this exists.

The villains are so perfect too! I love everything about this film. Gorshin's Riddler is a more impressive performance than I remembered

I found the perfect victim I FOUND THE PERFECT VICTIM!

The movie is a blast. I have it on blu-ray and pop it in every couple of months. It's the perfect movie to sit back and smile, laugh, and just have total fun with.

I love the Bruce/Kitka romance. In a way it's probably the most evil Catwoman has ever been toying with Bruce's emotions like that so she can use him as bait to get Batman. I love Meriwether's Russian accent. "My name is Kitanya Irenya Tatanya Karenska Alisoff" :D

I think Burgess Meredith's Penguin though was the star of the villains. He was basically running the show. His submarine, his henchmen, his jet pack umbrellas, he infiltrated the Batcave, he stole the Batmobile, he took out the security in the U.N. etc.

It was Joker who got the short end of the stick. He basically just sat around laughing it up and getting involved in the fights. That would be my only criticism with the movie. Riddler at least came up with the plan to kidnap Bruce Wayne, and fire off all the cool sky rocket riddles. Of course Catwoman had the whole sub plot with Bruce as Kitka. Poor Joker got nothing.

I used to live next to this bar/pizza joint that would play the movie in the background all the time. There would always be music blaring over it, but it was always cool to see it on in the background.

I like the film, although I find it falls flat in many places and I never really warmed to Meriwether as Catwoman. I much prefer the actual TV series; season 1 and 2 are for the most part comedy gold.

That is gorgeous. I love the use of gold cat from the show;

What a great thread. It was probably this show, more so then any comic book that got me into Batman and superheroes. Trying to find reruns on tv was really scarce for me during the late 70s and I had resort to a "viewmaster" to watch Batman. As crazy as it might sound, nothing since this show reignited my interest in Batman until the Nolan Trilogy came along. However Batman 66 will always have an important place in my heart. I hated having to pick just one villain for the poll, but I had to go with the Joker. I still think his performance is just as iconic as anything I've seen.

I love the Green Hornet/Batman art work. The episode they did on the show was lots of fun. There's a funny behind the scenes story where Bruce Lee scared the hell out of Burt during one of the fight scenes by pretending he was seriously going to use his Kung Fu skills on him.

Also has anyone seen this brilliant documentary about the show:

Thanks for the link! Adam West tells the Bruce/Burt story in his autobiography, and it's so funny. "Robin is a chicken". Also, the movie "back to the batcave" is fun as hell.

Man, the wait for this set is torture. I won't believe my eyes when I have this thing in my hands.

Do we think they'll include the 66 movie with the release or not?

I don't think they will. I know we won't get it before the end of the year, so the wait is less killing now.

Personally I hope not. I don't want to have to purchase it twice.

Our first ever glimpse of Newmar as Catwoman, and the only time I think she ever used a whip. I love the way they keep her face hidden in the shadows until she turns on the light.
