I obviously love Donnie Darko. I am not sold on Jake as Batman, though, at least not yet. I think he would've made a great Kyle Rayner GL.

I actually really like Vaughn most of the time. I don't know why he took that weird trip into drama after he did Swingers (his BEST movie/role), but he came back strong with Old School. Since then, he has tried to play that same role in every movie, and sometimes it works better than others.

I agree. But as I said, I wouldn't dismiss Jake for Batman.

with all due respect to jake, I'd prefer it if they actually decided to cast a latino for rayner. its not say that i don't think he would be good in that role, but, a little color would be a cool thing.

I thought Gyllenhaal was fine in John Carter. . . but no, I can't see him as Batman.

I don't think JG should be in any type of hero movie after seeing Prince of Persia.

You're better for it. I only watched it for Ben Kingsley and Gemma Arterton

The only thing he plays well. :cwink:

I remember seeing Gyllenhaal playing a tough, world-weary guy in Rendition and just thinking, "this doesn't work for you at all." He and Leo have the same curse - Good actors, but forever boyish.

he was far better playing tough in jar head

i do think jake would be a great kyle rayner tho

I thought Gyllenhaal was great in POP; a truly sweet and humble hero. Problem is, that doesn't exactly scream Batman.

i liked him in pop aswell he was funny, charismatic, and had some great action do wish we got some more parkour movements tho

THANK YOU! I've been telling people that for years and no one seems to ever agree. Every movie is the same crap. Some are funny, but Vaughn has such limited range. Such a disappointment. He's on my short list of actors I just cannot stand

Honestly... Karl Urban but he's really good, he's serious about and he has that darkness to him. Also, he is a movie star. And he is free enough to commit to a Batman/JLA franchise, unlike Fassbender, and would do it if given the opportunity unlike Jon Hamm.

I would use the Dick Grayson character and build him up over the trilogy. He starts as just Dick Grayson, then in the second film he becomes Robin, and then at the end of the third he breaks away as Nightwing. I wouldn't try and rush the Robin concept into one film, or start Robin as an adult, in which case, he's not really Robin anymore is he? Let him start as a kid or else you end up with 'crash course in Batman' Batman-lite, or the cartoony kids-can-do-it-too! Dakota Goyo did great in Rock 'Em Sock 'Em - er, Reel Steel, and even his small part in Thor. Would love to see more of that.

I think if we go into the more cerebral side of Batman rather than the brutal emotional side, we need to have that psychology angle strong. It'd be fun to do it with Hugo Strange, but there are other villains I'd like to see more. More interestingly would be to pull together Bruce's childhood with his present in a visceral way with someone like Leslie Thompkins. At this point, Helen Mirren can do anything.

For villains, while building up Hush over the course of a trilogy in a Ra's Al Ghoul type way could be fun and interesting, I'd love to see Riddler most, paired with a very physical villain, like Killer Croc (circus connection with Grayson), to show Batman's detective skills and acrobatics, something the previous incarnation was sorely lacking, and will be quite necessary to team up with the JLA.

If Tim Burton made a Batman today.....

Batman/Bruce Wayne- Andrew Lincoln
The Joker/Jack Napier- Benicio Del Toro
Alfred- Geoffrey Rush

and by andrew lincoln as batman you mean johnny depp right? and by the benicio del toro as the joker you mean johnny depp right? and by geofrey rush as alfred you mean johnny depp right?

I'll shut up now.

yeah and Harley Quinn at the same time then Catwoman for the sequel.
