We need this man for Batman:

Make it happen WB!!!

Love the guy, but doubt very much it's going to happen. If this was the late 90s/early 2000s, I'm sure he'd be on their wishlists. Now?... Eh.

Lets just settle for the fact that he's more or less playing Batman on a weekly basis on POI.

Great actor, that's the most important thing, by far. His build? His build is perfect, he is taller than Christian Bale and Henry and could certainly put on weight if needed. He would look down on Henry.

That's the opposite of what I was saying regarding his build. He will look like a tall, thin, awkward kid out there taking down bad guys next to Cavill. Cavill is a huge mofo, not as tall maybe, but height is relative on screen. You're going to have to make Gosling wear football pads to look as big as Cavill. I think of Gosling, I see Hal Jordan or Barry Allen or Dick Grayson. I certainly cannot see him as Wayne.

I know the chances of it are close to zero, but I can dream...

The connection he has to Jonathan Nolan gives me slightly more hope than usual...

But yeah, he's probably too old.

My casting thread:
Karl Urban - Batman/Bruce Wayne
Walton Goggins - Joker
Christoph Waltz - Mister Freeze
Viggo Mortensen - Hugo Strange
John Hamm - Dent/Two Face

This is it for now :o

Hamm as Dent would be awesome, too. But still, he's got me sold on being Wayne. And he's a fellow St. Louisan, so I am admittedly biased.

Why too old? I don't think he looks that much older to be quite honest. Do we really want to see a 33 year old Bruce Wayne playing businessman? Jon Hamm has the acting chops and the look nailed.

I'd really not want an older actor because I'd like him to continue to be believable several years from now when they're still making Batman and Justice League sequels. That's the main problem with the people suggesting Jim Caveziel should be Batman. In only 5 years he'll be 50. No thanks.

I'd like to see a 35ish Batman. And I'd reall not want an older actor because I'd like him to continue to be believable several years from now when they're still making Batman and Justice League sequels. That's the main problem with the people suggesting Jim Caveziel should be Batman. In only 5 years he'll be 50. No thanks.

Exactly, I could buy Jon Hamm as a mid to late 30's Batman. I can't buy some young actor stepping in and trying to play senior to Superman. Granted we have no idea what age this Batman will be, I just think it logically makes the most sense to have him be a little older, a little further along in his career. He's been out there this whole time, he's just more of an urban legend.

Eh, he's 42. I think that's too old. Hopefully they're going to be making sequels several years from now, and he's a little too old for that to stay believable.

Darn your perfectly reasonable logic! :argh:

I'M HERE TO CRUSH YOUR DREAMS!!! :argh:

Walton Goggins is Zsasz, that's all there is to it. If you can find me someone else better, I'd have a laundry list why he'd be the best.

It goes like this.

-Fass is attached to too many franchises.

-Gosling is too fussy and may only work for Bruce Wayne. Plus he's busy directing.

-Luke Evans cant pull off the accent. Not enough of a draw?

-Manganiello as a good Bats, but a meathead Bruce Wayne? Not enough range?

-Hamm is too old. Good Bruce, corny Batman.

-Caveziel is too old. Too bad that's the only reason. (imagine him as Bats, Emerson as Riddler penned by Jonah Nolan? Yikes!)

-Bomer is good for playboy Bruce only, I think.

-Hammer sucks. Box office jabroni.

-Edgerton is a good choice I think. But not a box-office draw, which MAY be what Snyder's after.

I can honestly see 1 of these chosen and therefore ill give a mixed reaction. Well not if it was Fassbender! But I think the best bet would be to get an actor who is very obscure.

I say again, Casey Affleck. :o:up:

Or Ben, if he's into it (doubtful).

Ben would be an awful choice. Casey is more Riddler material (oops didn't see the sarcasm heheh)

We really are picky about this thing, aren't we? Hell, people aren't this choosy about their presidents and prime ministers.

I know, I know...this actually matters. *rimshot*

I just can't see Lee Pace as Batman for some reason... but I'm willing to be proven wrong.

Honestly I'm willing to put some faith in an unconventional choice... no one expected Keaton to be such a great Batman. It might help all of us to keep a relatively open mind...

Maybe because he has a baby face? He looks like a man child to me. Looks like he'd work better for Nightwing.

Yeah there are lots of baby-faced suggestions that just don't bear the darkness I think is needed for the character...
