Batman should start out as gay, then Catwoman should turn him.

various lobbies would go berserk.

Wow 3 straight pages of racial and sexual orientation debates regarding actors playing a fictional super-hero, this thread is fun...

Yeah, it's awful, but I've come to expect such awful from SHH casting threads, so... :o

That's what Goyer said, yes.

Clark is in his late 20's in MOS. Bruce has always been a few years older. So unlike the comics where Bruce became Batman at 25, and in Batman Begins where he was 29, I imagine this Bruce to become Batman in his early 30's.

Luke Evans would be awesome. Still think Armie Hammer is the best choice though.

Never thought of Jane as Harley, but that gif convinced me.
This is where I stop listening to you regarding Batman. :o

So I'm assuming we'll get another origin story out of Bruce then. I just hope they don't dedicate much time to his origins this go around since Begins wasn't that long ago.

I doubt it'll be an origin film.

Apparently the plan is to introduce Batman in JL, which means he'll already be established.

The solo films will follow on from there I imagine.

Yeah I actually think I remember a scene in Man of Steel they establish Clark is in his early 30's. Considering they pretty much rehashed Superman's origin yet again on film they at least did it in a unique interesting way by basically making that part an action short starring Jor-El. I doubt they are going to go the same route as Begins and basically make the first half of the next film about how he actually became Batman. It could easily be relayed through flashbacks or an opening credit sequence...but then again I had to rewatch the same damn thing in The Amazing Spider-Man so who knows.

I believe we're going to get the Batman 89 treatment with how they deal with the new versions origin. Whether they do that in Justice League briefly in the beginning or wait until the first solo film, I don't know. But it's going to happen im sure.

I may as well start a petition for Jane Levy as Harley Quinn, Bryan Cranston as Commissioner Gordon and Michael Madsen for Harvey Bullock. Im very adamant about those choices. Especially those first two. Bullock's casting doesn't really matter in the long run, they can surprise me I guess.

I would prefer it if Joker was brief in the next series, but still a thread in each of the films somehow. I really can't say who should be cast as Joker. Chances are they'll surprise us.

Besides my usual picks for Bruce (Evans, Gosling, Bomer, Fassbender)...I do think that's going to be another surprise casting choice that makes us all take a step back. I have a feeling it's going to be somebody none of us thought of.

Chastain would make for a great Vikki Vale.

I REALLY don't want them to use Lucius Fox in the reboot at all. But the next time we see him, I think Denzel Washington should be the choice. It would have to be a good role though for him to do it, and I don't really want to see that for a long time.

Don't feel like seeing Renee Montoya since Ramirez was kind of Nolan's version. But Rosario Dawson comes to mind for some reason.

I wonder if Sarah Essen would be a character in the reboot? Something new for Gordon's character that we haven't seen. Don't know who to cast for that.

Riddler and Penguin will probably be unconventional choices I think. Same with Black Mask. Hugo Strange? I think of Christoph Waltz.

Then there's Alfred. Ahhh. Sooo many choices.

Eh, he has the qualities I'm looking for in the next Batman. Tall, handsome, deep voiced, good actor. And he's young, so throughout the next decade or so, he'll grow into the character even more.

Bomer, Evans, Urban or Hammer. But to be honest, I'd prefer an unknown over all of them. Cavill was relatively unknown before Superman, Garfield before Spider-man, Hemsworth before Thor, etc. It's the best way to go, imo.

I found Lois' role as the audience's representative in MOS to be quite interesting, and to an extent it mirrored the role of Vale in B89. Using the eyes and ears of another character to piece together the details seems to be an effective way of introducing the 'hero' while avoiding a ponderous origin story. You could use Gordon (a la Year One), or even Alfred to do the same in a future Batman movie.

Aye, much in the same way that Wolverine was used as a tool to introduce the X-world to the audience in X1.

I guess if Clark is 33, then this gives what the fans want. ..an older Batman!

Bruce Wayne/Batman- Josh Brolin
Alfred Pennyworth- David Bowie
James Gordon- Bryan Cranston
Hugo Strange- Mads Mikkelsen
Harvey Bullock- Stellan Skarsgård or Brendan Gleeson
Vicki Vale- Jennifer Connelly or Liv Tyler
Sarah Essen Gordon- Cate Blanchett or Carrie-Anne Moss

Haters gonna Hate

I think Hammer could do great.

His voice is in no way that much deeper than Gosling or Gyllenhaal, who are both better actors and better suited for the role than the block of wood Hammer.

I completely agree :p

Hammer and Jake G are just too "dopey" in looks, etc for my Batman tastes.

Armie is a dope!

Jake has a meek vibe about him, and puppy dog eyes . No good for Batman.

Luke Evans is my personal favorite, he has that edge about him. One thing to consider however, is that Evans and Bomer seem to have a pretty small faces, at least thats what I see. Their jaw/facial structure, although pretty defined are still small. Really small compared to Cavill, Bale, etc. I have no doubt they can easily bulk up to a superhero physique, but I'm not sure how their faces would look in a cowl.

Thoughts?

Not true. Armie's voice is much deeper than Goslings or Gyllenhaal's. Ever hear one of them yell? Their voices get really high pitched and crack, especially Gosling. If I heard Batman's voice cracks as he yelled "NO JOKER, STOP!", I'd laugh all the way out of the theater.

Hammer is a damn good actor, too. He just hasn't found the perfect role yet to establish himself as a great actor. But I do believe he'd make a great Batman, possibly the best we've ever seen on screen.
