Hoechlin is alright as an actor, nothing special. But he seems a bit too young imo.
I'm still pulling for Witwer, he's 35 years old and 6'1 with a good frame. And he's a better actor than Hoechlin.

Witwer looks nothing like Bruce Wayne, imo. But he'd make a great villain.

Dat jaw.

Doz pursed lips.

Hmm, Zionite1's picture kinda sold me. I'd only seen him with a buzzcut until now, couldn't really picture it.

I buy Witwer as Bats/Bruce.

Not to mention the voice. He's a damn good voice actor.

Yeah I think he can do the laid back playboy bruce along with the serious. But I really think he can the batman growl down.

Giuntoli is a black hole of charisma in Grimm. No thanks.

AICN seems to have heard that they are looking for an unknown actor in his early 30's for this, which, if true, would rule out all but one of my picks. Dammit. :(
I think he is a mediocre actor and has the wrong look for Bruce Wayne.

Caviezel is probably too old for the role. Unless they can get a big star I don't see WB going that old.

I really feel we need sort of a gravitas actor for Batman. I really hope they don't got for an unknown or just rising star. Cavill himself is still sort of in the rising star category or just out of it and i'd like to see him play off someone more veteran, to give the film some balance in that regards. I think the public would take it more seriously as well.

Good to see a few people like the suggestion of Caviezel. Ill definitely have to watch The Thin Red Line.

I can definitely see him playing Batman, especially since I've started to watch Person of Interest. I also like that he often talks in a sort of whispered, raspy voice on that show that kind of reminds me of Keaton's Bats. Detractors of the Bat-growl would certainly be pleased. :oldrazz:

He's also got that intense/obsessive look in his eyes that's needed for Batman IMO. The only real factor going against him is his age. But I'd be over the moon if he was cast in the role.

Someone in one of the many versions of this thread suggested Wes Bentley.

Something clicked, for me. He has this absurd intensity, and you feel a life marked with personal breakdown may equip an actor with something to bring to such a dark and nuanced character.

He'd be a huge risk for any studio, but fascinating to see.

Caviezel would be awesome in the role. And this is Hollywood...they can make him look a bit younger.

I'd be fine with Witwer as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

The only major problem D.C. and WB face with the immersion of Batman into a Superman film is that we're going to have to have a prequel to see Batman in his prime and "Man of Steel 2" will be a sequel not only to Superman but to the Batman reboot as well.

To me, both companies would've been smarter reintroducing Batman and then going forward where like Marvel, familiar faces pop in and out. I'm excited for the film but it's going to be a hard mountain to climb.

Caviezel? No way...don't see it at all. Same as Ryan Gosling. If WB is scraping the idea of rebooting Batman with a young actor and origin film and are simply going to introduce him in the Man of Steel sequel as an established character then an actor in his early to mid-thirties would be just fine. In that case I would have to go back to my original choice for an actor around that age to play Batman and that is Michael Fassbender.

I like the Witwer pick. Very nice call there. I think that finally cured me of my Giuntoli fixation. Thanks!

I hear Fassbender might be in a Assassin Creed movie so that's another big franchise he will be in. Caviezel is better choice then say Armie Hammer, Jake Gyllenhaal or Ashton Kutcher lol.

Jake Gyllenhaal can actually act though

the only reason i am not 100% behind him is because of his voice. it just doesn't scream Bruce/Batman to me.

True he's a good actor I give you that as you said he doesn't scream Batman he looks like he could play Flash.

If they go with older which I think they will:

David Boreanaz is my choice.

Boreanaz is past his prime, unfortunately.

Witwer though..... Uhhhhhhh <3 yes please.

Glad to see witwer is getting some love for this role. WB should seriously be looking his way.
