It'd be cool if Al Ghul was built up as a major threat...

if we see him again, he can be done a lot better, the supernatural elements should be intact

I agree about the building him up thing and bring in in the supernatural elements of the character. But I also think Nelson did great with what he was given. Also should Ras have been one of the ones too train Bruce in the new DC Cinematic Universe?

No, I don't think so. I don't have a problem with that being the case in BB, but it wouldn't really fit with Ra's being this shadowy figure hidden from Batman's detection, unless a future movie does exactly the same thing as BB again.

She certainly looks perfect for the role, but I know nothing about her, other than that she seems to be a lingerie model.

Thanks, by the way.
She's a gift from the Heavens, that one ;)

If she proves a good enough actress, then she might have a look in for the role. It's just visual as of now :hehe:

Nightwing/Dick Grayson - Richard Madden
Robin/Tim Drake - Asa Butterfield
Red Hood/Jason Todd - Jack O'Connell
Oracle/Barbara Gordon Shailene Woodley

Leslie Thompkins - Helen Mirren

Commissionor James Gordon - Bryan Cranston
Det. Harvey Bullock - John Goodman
Det. Renee Montoya - Michelle Rodriguez
Det. Sarah Essen - Robin Wright

Joker - Willem Dafoe
Riddler - Steve Carrell
Two-Face - Jon Hamm
Mad Hatter - Andy Serkis

Scarecrow - Jackie Earle Haley
Mr. Freeze - Mads Mikkelsen
Hugo Strange - Christoph Waltz
Catwoman - Charlize Theron
Harley Quinn - Jane Levy
Poison Ivy - Margot Robbie
Talia Al Ghul - Emily Ratajkowski

Great casting there, I love Two-Face one

Oh Rod, you forgot Talia's father... Given you heads up

Now THAT'S a head-scratcher for me lol :hmm

Given he's 55 and still in terrific form, and he has the vibe, I'd pick, Viggo Mortensen.

Great choice there, I believe he was up for Ducard/Ras role in BB.

He would be alright, but I think the tendency would be for him to seem like a poor man's Liam Neeson.

That would be cool, though I have come to prefer the idea of Ra's being truly "international". You shouldn't be able to place where he came from, in my view. He shouldn't be aryan, but nor should you be able to say with certainty that he is an Arab.*

*In fact, Ra's traditional origins are probably Berber rather than Arab anyway.

I think I read somewhere he's part Arab part Chinese.

Unfortunately I have no real suggestions for Ra's either way cept for BDT. But he's over at Marvel now

The idea that he has Chinese parentage comes from the notion that Sensei is his father. That has now been retconned to Sensei being his son.

On the other point, I don't think that doing something for Marvel/WB should rule someone out of doing something for the other studio. There is too much product being pumped out now to allow that to prevent some crossover.

I just googled Berber to remind myself what I was talking about.

Isn't that a perfect facial type for Talia?

Oded Fehr, not the greatest actor ever but I think he's pretty solid, he's had some good performances here and there. He definitely has the look and an accent that could work very well for the role. My first choice would still be Viggo Mortensen just because of his talent as an actor but I think Fehr could do an OK job. Can't think of anyone else that looks the part more than him at the very least.

He has a similar haircut, but I don't really see it otherwise.

Obviously not a spitting image by any means but I can't think of anyone that looks the part more than him. You're right that there isn't a ton of similarity between him and the drawings but what actor really looks like Ra's Al Ghul? It's a nearly impossible character to match, one of the hardest there is in the comic book world IMO. Obviously if Fehr was older, skinnier and his nose wasn't as thick he would look much more like Ra's than he does now but I see more similarities in his look than anyone else I've seen mentioned. Though I guess Mortensen could, if he got all made up for the role by some creative team.

Though I do agree with what I believe Rodrigo90 meant by "bugger authenticity", they should pick the most highly skilled actor they can over someone who looks the role but may not be a top notch actor. Though it would be awesome to get both, looking like the character is a huge bonus that really adds to the character on screen. It's why alot of fancasts are so similar, because they look for good actors that also look like the character they are envisioned to portray.

Javier Bardem, Timothy Dalton, Ralph Fiennes, Daniel Day Lewis or Viggo Mortensen as Ra's

Joker: Willem Dafoe/Adrien Brody
Penguin: Timothy Spall/Albert Brooks
Riddler: Michael C Hall/David Tenant
Two Face: Viggo Mortensen/Jon Hamm
Catwoman: Angelina Jolie/Charlize Theron
Mr. Freeze: Giancarlo Esposito/Mads Mikkelsen
Ra's Al Ghul: Javier Bardem/Timothy Dalton
Talia Al Ghul: Olga Kurylenko/Eva Green
Scarecrow: Jackie Earle Haley/Michael Sheen

Even though I don't want to see Two-Face on the big screen for a LONG time, Bradley Cooper would make a potentially interesting Harvey Dent.
