I know he's kinda chunky now, but I honestly still wouldn't mind Marilyn Manson as Scarecrow tbh . He at least has more experience with acting by now.

Idk would he also be the kid from The Wonder Years and also share every other ridiculous and old ass rumor that was fabricated against Manson in the past lololol

Here's my picks and my reasoning:

The Riddler : Benedict Cumberbatch
Jim Carrey played the Riddler more like the Joker in Batman Forever - too over the top. I think he has to come across as playful but in a more methodic, focused and calculated way than the frenzied joker - highly intelligent and articulate but a little eccentric perhaps. Cumberbatch can do that in his sleep.

Ras Al Ghul : Pedro Pascal
Foreign exotic looks, measured and extremely self confident. All qualities I felt Pedro Pascal showed in GOT.

Two Face : Nikolaj Coster-waldau
Handsome (on one side at least!), suave, but capable of flipping between good and bad at any point. Another GOT actor who can do that. He's actually not a million miles in looks away from Aaron Eckhart, which I think isn't a bad thing as he played a great Two Face.

Penguin : Eddie Marsan
Terrific actor. I think the Penguin role is difficult to cast as there are some strong physical/aesthetic considerations, but Marsan could do it justice.

Scarecrow : Stephen Merchant
Scarecrow is usually masked so facial resemblance isn't a consideration here; more so the fact that I want an actor who's fairly lanky/thin, and who can do a convincing job of being creepy and a little unhinged. Merchant just did a great job of Caliban in Logan, and I think he could manage this too.

Hugo Strange : Bryan Cranston
I mean .......... it's just gotta be? With a little bulking up.

Remember the days where we all used to go wild over fan castings? I miss those days...

Good list, Elgaz. I particularly like Marsan as The Penguin.

Sorry, Eddie Marsan has a role in the upcoming Deadpool 2 (2018), an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Deadpool, distributed by 20th Century Fox and directed by John Wick and Atomic Blonde's David Leitch. He is no longer eligible to play The Penguin, a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman.

I really think Cranston as Hugo Strange (and the main villain) would be electrifying.

for this DCEU era, hmm--

so much of this era is way darker than previous iterations. Plus, this batman has had a 20+ year career already-- so fortunately older actors would seem to have preference for certain characters.

Penguin- ? Simply having a heavy-set actor isn't good enough. Get someone who can be charismatic.

Riddler- ? someone who can play a more intellectual interpretation of this character would be good.

Catwoman- ? making her 25 probably wouldn't be a good idea.

King Tut- ? I'd like to see an updated version of him.

I'd like to see the Grant Morrison-era villains brought in. Might as well switch things up a little.

Haha aw man, y'all just bought back some memories from 6th grade. It took me a while to even recognize that was MM when he appeared on SoA. I could see him as Scarecrow, but that casting would surprise me for a big blockbuster film

Yes if Dwayne Johnson could pull off the Bane accent he would be a convincing Bane but he is already playing Black Adam anyways so there's that but Nathan Jones I think if he were cast as Bane I think he would be able to pull it off

What about Batista for Bane? He's been in some similar films, the new Bond and Blade Runner, for example. Definitely has the look

Having just seen Baby Driver...

Hmm, I could maybe see it. Its not like Bane is an especially sophisticated character, after all. The main thing is, the actor needs to be able to come off as intelligent. A big, scary, compelling presence, but also one who can play chess ( metaphorical or literal ) against Batman. I suspect Bautista could do it, his work as Drax so far has been really pretty nuanced.

No to any wrestler as Bane, come on now. Most comic characters have big muscles, you can find a wrestler for all of them really.

Why not Randy Orton as Batman? Or Cena as Superman while you're at it.

Because Cena needs to be Shazam.

Unless, they decide to go the Hulk route with the character, find a wrestler or musclebound actor with some science background like Dolph Lundgren :oldrazz:

They hust need someone who can be physically imposing next to Batman. Hardy pulled it off despite being smaller than Bale. Jackson owned it as Wolverine as well. Size is arbitary and irrelevant.

Ah, the old 'wrestlers cant act' stigma rears its head again - it's surely a sweeping generalization, no? Are you saying that there has is not, has never been and never will be someone who has worked as a professional wrestler who has shown some kind of acting ability worth a damn? Because I could name a few undertakers, waiters/waitresses, sales assistants, cooks, milkmen, hell, guys dressed as chickens who were probably told the same only for them to become some of the most highly regarded and successful actors ever.

Yes, there have been some awful wrestlers turned actors in the past but equally, there are terrible actors out there who never set foot in the 'squared circle' - being a bad actor is not mutually exclusive to wrestlers and the likes of Johnson, Cena and Batista are showing that. But yeah, lets just say that they are all terrible and if it shows on their CV that they were a wrestler at any point in their life reject them for an audition. :whatever:
