The Batman Reboot Casting Thread - Part 7

Yeah, I'd take Hamm as Dent anyday, over Bruce.

I'm the exact opposite, personally. But to be fair, the majority of actors who could play Bruce could probably very easily play Harvey as well. Both look similar and both have the same foundations for the performance (i.e. dual identities and mental torment).

Sterling K. Brown - Two-Face

I like this a lot.

Otherwise, Caleb Landry Jones as Jason Todd.

That Beyond the Sea episode of X-Files with Brad Dourif is soooo awesome. He should really play a Batman villain.

Brad Dourif would make an incredible Mad Hatter

He was on Burton’s list for Joker. I think I fan cast him here as an older version of Scarecrow. I really like the idea of a Batman movie where the villains are all psychological threats. He’s be suited for a number of those.

Brad Dourif in Exorcist 3 is totally proto-Ledger Joker.

Brown would be wasted as Lucius. Lennie James is more my speed for that character.

Justin Hartley from This Is Us fame I could actually see him as Bruce Wayne/Batman if they decide to go younger

Yeah he's only younger than Affleck give or take a couple of years but still he doesn't even look old and Hartley has comic book experience. He played Oliver Queen on Smallville and he has proven that he can act on This Is Us. I mean his career is taking off in Hollywood so why not cast him as Bruce Wayne/Batman?

Would that mean that Milo Ventimiglia plays Thomas Wayne?

Hartley is 41? Wow, I thought that dude was in his early 30s. Anyway, I don’t think he’s right for Batman but the dude is definitely a good actor. I could see him as Hal Jordan or Barry Allen.

Justin Hartley I actually believe it or not can see him as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern and whoever suggested that just now it actually is genius

Thanks! Seriously, it would be gimmicky as hell but you could cast Hal Jordan and John Stewart with Hartley and Brown.

I remember Hartley playing Oliver Queen(Green Arrow) on SMALLVILLE.
I could seeing his playing a police Lt.

He also played Aquaman in a failed pilot episode for a TV show. :hehe:

I felt so bad for Ving Rhames watching the trailer for this thing.

Bruce Wayne/Batman ... Tom Cullen
Alfred Pennyworth ... Pip Torrens
Jim Gordon ... Kyle Chandler
Lucius Fox ... Lennie James
Leslie Thompkins ... Emma Thompson
Silver St. Cloud ... Tatiana Maslany
Selina Kyle/Catwoman ... Ruth Negga
Edward Nashton/Riddler ... Jimmi Simpson
Hugo Strange ... Lars Mikkelsen
Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin ... Michael Emerson
The Joker ... Ben Foster (unless they nab Joaquin)

Bruce Wayne/Batman ... Tom Cullen

I am right there with you on Tom Cullen

If they are to recast Bruce Wayne/Batman I would love to see Tom Cullen get a shot. He was absolutely amazing in Knightfall, and is an overall amazing actor, likes to play those dark brooding characters, but can be very charismatic as well.

Lithgow as Ventriloquist is awesome thinking! :hmr: He's probably too tall, but that'd be a totally-nothing nitpick, not like it matters. But he'd rock that big-time.

Banderas as Ras? That's...really interesting! Don't know if I love it or hate it, but that' pretty inspired & cool. :mnm:

Agree. I also love Foster as Zasz, although I don’t want him in the movie, and Cooper as Thomas Elliott is inspired.

Batman in the style of a classic swashbuckling adventure featuring Oscar Isaac as Bruce Wayne and Antonio Banderas as Ra’s is the thing we need the most of.
