The Batman Spoiler Discussion Thread

Oh Joker we have so much to discuss. :awesome:

You'll probably have to wait until Friday night, or Saturday. Or, just wait a bit longer and see it on the big screen.
Friday night? I was thinking today. Thousands of people are seeing it and I doubt none of them brought their phones. If not to pull it out and start filming, recording audio from their pockets. The venom 2 post credit scene leaked the same way.

I'm gonna try my best to avoid the clips. 2 more days for me :(

How violent is this movie? Do see any blood at all?
There is a bit of blood, but it's discreet.

The movie is not really graphic, for example, Pete Savage gets his face eaten by rats, but we don't see anything.

The violence, beyond the fight scenes who are pretty ferocious, is mostly suggested. It's still very effective. Riddler is scary as hell

(I also posted in the Resetera, so the BR2049 comes from there, just in case - but its all valid to SHH as well)

Just saw it (not sure if need proof at this point, but could provide, if need be)

I think someone in the thread made a connection to Blade Runner 2049 and that couldn't be truer than that. This is indeed the perfect description for the movie.

There are no "big" per se action scenes (bar the final one, but even so, not as big compared to some other movies or what we seen recently).

Its really like BR2049 in terms of pace and burn. The action is more "self contained" for most part.

The batmobile entrance, tho...

I think it was crazy inspired that the first reaction we see from Batman saving someone is in the shadows and the guy in complete fear. He just saved the guy but the dude is totally afraid of him. This is right by the start of the film.

The last reaction is exactly the opposite its Batman in the sun and the little girl is so thankful Batman is there. This is right by the end of the film.

This was truly a beautiful contrast.

I haven't seen The Batman yet so I probably shouldn't be spoiling myself.....

Considering I think Blade Runner 2049 is a masterpiece, this really pleases me.

Saw it last night through my LCS. Who else has seen it here? Not going to spoiler block this because it's a spoiler thread lol but there's clearly a link of some sort that flashes for about a nanosecond at the very end of the credits. Is that floating online somewhere?

Possibly WB will continue marketing stuff there

About the Waynes, during the movie I caught myself remembering a post made 4 months ago here, because this is exactly how it played.

Predictable in a way, tho. DC prefers to keep its main iterations relatively unchanged while allowing for elseworlds stories to better delve into these different angles - like we had in Joker (2019)

I remember when Morrison tried to explore this a bit more, suggesting their deaths werent accidental in Return of Bruce Wayne and ppl went mad and then Grant just kept the default story.

Since this movie is a mainstream work aimed for the general audiences at large, much like the main earth in comics, in the end, I didn't really expect DC to let them go "full evil" or "full corrupt" Thomas/Martha. The main story will always remain inspirational and idealistic as this is the story of a hero, and will have this element of "pure" around it, at least in the default version.

Another angles over them will always be explored via elseworlds (like Flashpoint, for example) or niche public (like Joker or TellTale) so it's not like we won't be fed different interpretations or portrayals. We have and we will, for sure.

The situation @shauner111 described really reminded of classic Corleone stuff in Godfather. Making favors, but in turn, "enslaving" people.

Can completely see Thomas going like: "oh, god... what in the hell.... I didn't mean you to off this guy... What have you done? I just wanted you use your influence or friends to press this guy dropping this story in his job or fired at most...." and Carmine going like "I'm sorry, my friend... this is how it is... too bad you didn't really specify so things happened this way. At least this is over, right? Remember I helped when you needed and I know this secret".

I'm probably in the minority but I'm really disappointed in that aspect.

I really wanted to see full corrupt telltale Thomas and Martha Wayne for this take.

If we're gonna explore the Wayne's again I'd rather see something radicaly different than comic accurate.

And just pointeal of Bruce learning that his parents were just as greedy and selfess and corrupt as the mob bosses he's fighting and there only redeeming qualities were loving him would be such a interesting arc and reason to change from "vengeance " to a "hero".

The Telatlie route for the Wayne's would have been aboubselty perfect for this specific movie and take the only creative choice I'm genuinely disappointed Matt Reeves did was going the Long Halloween route.

Not hating or anything just stating my opinion.

Just saw the clip Andy was so anxious to see, only for it to be dubbed in spanish. :whatever:

The clip is also so dark and poor quality you can't really see anything.
