The Batman Spoiler Discussion Thread

Also…

…would it be too far-fetched to think that it is actually the Joker Batman is talking to in the interrogation scene and they CG’ed Dano’s reflection on the window to throw us off?…
Laugh is Edward. And the interrogation is Bats and Edward.

Can someone who was actually at the screening watch the Japanese trailer and tell us if that was the Riddler laughing?

Probably too specific to be sure, but could the people who attended the screener verify if The Joker's mouth in the Arkam scene looked anything like this creepy mystery figure in the newspaper clipping?

This is probably gonna sound dumb, but I kinda wish they didn't have Riddler laughing since the Riddler/Joker comparisons have already been done enough throughout the character's history as it is. It's even why Nolan chose not to do Riddler in the first place.

I sympathize with what your saying but I think Reeves so far has done a tremendous job and separating this Riddler from Joker.

I wouldn't worry about people comparing the two Riddle is a zodiac killer who's taking out corrupt people and is more misguided and suffering from PTSD it seems than insane.

He doesn't even ware a nicely tailored sutie in this take further separating the two.

Plus in my opinion the laugh sounded nothing like Joker it sounded muffled with hint I'd rage in it.

Jim Carrey Riddler and even Cory Smith's gave me Jokers vibes at times but Paul Danos really hasn't for me.

I’d like to know when Bruce starts throwing **** in Wayne Manor.

I'm guessing when he comes to terms with Alfred
being in the hospital and his father's mistake.

Riddler can have himself a giggle, just as long as he isn’t a cackling buffoon. This version of Riddler seems more cold than amused. I trust that Matt knows exactly how differentiate the two.

Since it seems like a lot of cops will lose their lives, what do you guys think of Essen or Bullock coming into the sequel to help Gotham/Gordon out?

Personally, I'd rather Essen be in GCPD for a limited time, where she either dies or skips town before the events of The Batman. And then bring Bullock into the movies.

I know it's not the casting thread but I can see Jason Clarke as Bullock.

Would they still call Bullock "Harvey", or would they change it in the event they plan on introducing Dent?

I'd just call him Bullock or Detective Bullock. No need to drop first names. Only keep him on the job.

Bullock could work, but I think I would want him to either die or come really messed up. I could see something where he gets lost in trying to capture Batman and ends up making things worse where the villain accomplishes a major goal because of his actions. Then when trying to make things right in the end, he pays a hefty price.

Bullock, Allen, and Montoya will surely be in the GCPD Series no?
Doubt it. Bullock for sure won't be. Unless they want to kill the character in one season. Bullock fits the movies better while Batman is active and interacting with Gordon. You also don't want to repeat the Gordon/Bullock thing from the Gotham show. I'd rather see Essen.

I'm not expecting Montoya and Allen either because they're nowhere to be found in The Batman. Plus Birds of Prey used Montoya. I want new characters.

People in the other thread talking about how it might be harder to identify Bale's Batman but I disagree. Pattinson's Bruce was trained by Alfred and so he's been a sorta recluse since his teenage years and most of his 20's. Then suddenly there's whispers of a Batman figure beating the **** out of criminals. All the while Bruce is still behaving the same as he's been for decades. Plus he's building his own stuff, muscle cars included. Stuff that doesn't immediately make you think "rich boy, rich tech". Unlike TDK trilogy where in his first month of being Batman he's on the news with this futuristic tank. Declared dead for 7 years and the playboy returns the same month as a Batman debuts.

Your completely right but change is always controversial at first.

This reminds me of the whole permawhite/makeup but on much smaller scale.

Or even the whole Batfleck killing thing. (although that it something I personally agree is a issue"

Now, don't tell me you didn't notice your boy out therrre PANcaking cop cars on the evening news.

If that WB UK breakdown of upcoming movies is anything to go by (and I'm sure it is) then it seems like they've just confirmed that Keoghan's Joker is in the final cut.
