The Batman Spoiler Discussion Thread

Probably just for promo material.

Sounds more and more like recent interpretations of Joker in the comics, stopping just short of basically having a completely stitched on face.

I wasn't really a fan of that look but I think it would fit Reeves' tendency to mix real and surreal.

I am fascinated though to see how they explain why it happened. Ledger's Joker didn't need much explanation looks wise. Leto neither, but this absolutely will have to be explained.

Probably just the chemicals again. Which comics would you point to for reference?

Well the stitched face, I'd imagine he'd be pointing to Scott Snyder's output.

He said "Just short" of the stitched face though. I assumed he meant visually anyways

Update:

I didn’t see any of obvious laughing - most of the stills I saw were him sitting there. There were some of him speaking, and I assume it was with Batman, but I didn’t see any of him smiling or laughing.

Andy, could you elaborate on this? You make it sound like you saw stills taken from the movie of Joker yourself. Not just shots of someone on reddit talking about it.

Ah, ok.

That was a copy-and-pasted comment replying to someone asking if he was smiling or laughing.

To be honest I'm not sure I like the idea of the Joker existing prior to Batman. The persona I mean. The actually Joker, I prefer his emergeance as a by product of Batman's war on crime in Gotham.

I obviously don't know anything more than what's been discussed here, but if Joker is in Arkham my natural assumption until proven otherwise is he had some kind of emergence (origin or otherwise) during the 18-or-so months Batman was active before this movie takes place.

I think the last shots of the trailer Batman and Catwoman fighting the Riddler look a likes is part of the final battle too stop Riddler. Would be suprised if its part of act 2 or something.

I'm not sure if this is real but on The Batman sub reddit a deleted post but Op is still answering questions.

She thinkst the "shocking ending" from the test screenings that people in test screening were talking about was a cut subplot revealing Thomas Wayne had a affair with Edward moms making Bruce and Nasthon related.

The test screening she went to say no longer has this plot point because higher ups and Matt Reeves decided to reshoot it and cut it out.

There's a lot of other stuff she's saying too.

Many of it lines up with what we've heard or at least speculated.

But there's also new stuff too.

It honey sounds really incredible.

Oh and Matt Reeves pulled a Dark Knight if this is true by showing the ending shot in the trailer lol.

Batman looking over Gotham is the last shot or something else maybe.
