The Batman Spoiler Discussion Thread

Hey guys I just realized something that I'm embarrassed I didn't realize sooner.

I've had a conversation with this exact user before.

The things he got right and match up came from things I shared with him from a private chat in reddit with him from information I got here in these boards.

So Op was fraud because he was asking me for info if truly did see a test screening he would already know everything.

Sorry for wasting everyone's time.

So thanks for messaging me. We've actually spoken on Reddit lol.

I'm looking at that person's thread right now and laughing. I'm about to embarrass them. It feels good.

Supposedly this person is legit? Never heard of this person. Also, I think we have heard this before from VA.

If it's true, it probably would be a logical way of introducing other villains as well. The Joker, in particular, will probably be one of several villains.

I want Riley Keough for Poison Ivy

How would they write her in a world like this? Is the movie strictly realistic with no fantastical elements or is there room for someone like like Freeze or Ivy?

That is something most of us said very early on because the footage we have which points towards it.
At this point, Do those scoopers even try making up stuff that sounds as if they have first Hand insider stuff?

Poison Ivy is one of the easiest villains to ground in reality. And yes this is going to be the most realistic DC universe. But ppl can't accept it , even when Matt Reeves himself says it, the fans try to twist his words.

Just make her a environmental activist who is thankful for the flood, and doesn't want the elite to rebuild the city because to her Gotham is being purified. So maybe she's not the main villain, she's just one of many. And she'll control a section of the city. Maybe an island. Like 'No Man's Land' she can have hippies of all ages living with her on that island. They worship nature and don't want any part of the rest of the city.

So you have Catwoman who takes care of the east end of Gotham. Batman checks in on her from time to time. Penguin could be the new mob kingpin in his mind but some gangsters like Ventriloquist or Black Mask types don't like the Penguin and want his throne. Poison Ivy has her own island. Maybe Joker controls Arkham? (Or is about to?). You can have Mad Hatter set up as a creepy drug dealer in one of the city's popular neighbourhoods. Don't know if Reeves would use him, but what about a Bermejo-esque Killer Croc dominating the sewers? Or Bane as a gangster going to war with Penguin?

The possibilities are endless. Mr Freeze doesn't sound logical to me unless you want to build the entire movie around him, and I don't think that's the idea.

Just throw in Abbott and its a perfect sequel. Maybe Taylor-Joy for Ivy idk
Although Riley Keough is my number one choice for Ivy, Anya is actually an interesting choice. You'd think she'd fit Harley Quinn more but as she gets older I can kinda see Anya playing Poison Ivy. But I just think Riley is the right age and has more experience in the indie world. She's been in movies with Zoe and Jeffrey and Rob so that helps me imagine her in those scenes. She just has that *something is off* vibe, which is why directors always cast her in roles where there's more than meets the eye.

For anyone that knows details about the movie, was that "Batman2022plot" guy from last year legit? I was scrolling through r/DCEUleaks and came across a post from BSL a while ago on his Reddit account and he claimed that "Batman2022Plot" guy was real. His story seems weird and he said some weird stuff about the runtime but it's interesting.

Old news, but yes he was legit.

The only wrong thing is that he said Harvey is mentioned, but in the test screenings this didn't happen.
But he mentioning big specific moments like the chase scene between Batman/Cobblepot and the last scene of the 3er trailer (8 months prior) make him reliable.
Take it as you like, either he got wrong the Harvey bit or that part was cut.

There are people on his profile saying that he was actually stealing copying someone else's leak, so he's not reliable at all lol
Sorry but I don't keep track of those things, I just remembered when some post of him was brought up when the trailer was released.

No. most of his info was wrong.

Anya Taylor joy as Poison Ivy is something that I now need haha. I've been a big fan ever since I saw her in the VVitch and I think she's one of those actresses that manages to balance innocent looking while also intimidating. She's incredible and she'd be a fine addition to this world. @shauner111 knows I'm a fan! Can't wait to see her reunite with Eggers in The Northman.

Honestly, i feel a bit dense saying that...but i dont see it.
I look at the Trailers and see a movie that is far less realistic and grounded than Nolans, yet people keep saying The Batman is the most realistic and grounded.

I look at the action scenes and all...and i dont see it.
I see a stylistic noir universe that hits the sweet spot between realism and fantasy quite well.

Its why im so for a sequel involving Mr Freeze, because it feels to me fanastical enough to pull of stuff like that.
To me, this World Matt Reeves creates, looks like there is room for some kind of Supernatural elements.

I never felt like this with Nolan.

Is it because the architecture is gothic? Lol this is a guy who builds a car and suit himself without billion dollar military tech. Where Reeves said he wanted to ground it like Year One. How is it more fantastical than Nolan’s?
