The Batman Spoiler Discussion Thread

No he wasn’t. It was a great performance, but far from being perfectly portrayed. Batman killed him before he could even fully evolve. There is so much more to Two-Face that deserve to be on the big screen.
You can believe that it wasn't a perfect performance. But, if Prison Mike believes that it was, that's his opinion. it is NOT a matter of Right or,Wrong, it is what HE believes.

I second the Two-Face addition. You can even do a different parallel. See, in the Nolan movies, Dent and Wayne were paralleled in terms of being White Knight vs. Black Knight. Harvey was the public figure who was able to bring down the mob and clean up Gotham.

Why not parallel how/why behind Batman and Dent's fight against corruption? Both are essentially lonely men in their quests, with a key difference. Bruce fights because he has an obsession with needing to know that his actions will positively impact Gotham, and you can make it so that Dent has an obsession with needing to overcome his own challenges and prove that he really is a competent lawyer (assuming you take the mental illness approach that was explored in comics). That's just one example.

Maybe you should go back and read my post thoroughly before coming after me.

I really can't see Woody as Freeze. I know he worked with Reeves but Freeze shouldn't be southern.
I was thinking about this the other day. I think Woody could pull it off and I wouldn't be disappointed if he was cast, but I wouldn't necessarily be excited either.

Bryan Cranston would be a fantastic Freeze, I reckon.

Oh gosh, the shot of Batman sliding down the pillar and ****ing up Riddler goons is playing endlessly in my brain.

High five, my dude!

When Batman comes crashing down from the rafters and uses his grapnel gun to reel in those Riddler goons and he flips backwards while that Batman motif starts to blare; I was in such heaven. I know some felt the third act finale felt tacked on, but I loved everything about that scene.

The climax is great. I love that scene. He has to take out multiple assassins and uses every tool at his disposal to do it. It's so satisfying because its so earned as Batman has now seen the biggest picture. This is classic hero Batman the film is building towards. I hope we see more of this in the sequel.

Not to mention, the climax has a De Palma, Frankenhemier, and Hitchcock influence.

The climax reminded me a lot of how Batman had to dispatch of the two swat teams and the Joker's goons in TDK. And the shot of the Riddler goons dangling from the platform gave me flashbacks of the swat team members dangling from the side of the building after Batman roped them up.

Hands down two of my all time favorite Batman scenes.

I loved how they showed his suit can withstand a lot… but Bruce sometimes can’t. That shotgun blast ****ed him up.

I like him but that's such a boring choice and I'm not sure he'd fit entirely with the rest of the cast

Well I don't know about boring, but it's a step closer to what I'd like to see over Woody Harrelson. I want to see someone who can channel deeply relatable tragedy while balancing a cold menace, and BC is just an actor who I know can do that (and I think is largely underutilised in films atm).

Any other actor who can handle cold, restrained but intellectual malice would be excellent.

Curious why you don't think he'd fit with this cast though?

He's slightly too "TV" to me for this honestly

LOL I have to say that the food marketing tie-ins feel especially goofy with THIS Batman movie. Did anyone catch the film at the Alamo Draft House and have the GOT HAM Chicken Sandwich?

I think if I had to cast Mr. Freeze in this franchise I'd probably go with Daniel Craig or Giancarlo Esposito as a very close second.

So... Is that green juice Batman injected into him proto-Venom or just adrenaline?
