The Dark Knight The Batmobile Thread, Only Better.

OK... That's a better explanation than batman 72's... But the problem is how would they retrieve it from the impound?? They'd need a big truck and cranes etc!

Also, if they were to rebuild something like the pod... Wouldn't it just make more sense to build it from scratch as opposed to using twisted bits of metal?

It doesn't matter how it gets transported. Thats something you never have to show. A page of conversation and 30 seconds of footage would solve that. The point of how and when it gets moved is irrelevant.

I read in an interview a little while back that the Batpod was to be 'custom built for batman' and wasn't something they already had. I'll see if I can find the link.

Edit:
This isn't the link but its very interesting:

Okay. I said that in my last post as one of the other possibilites.

Look, there's no need to get riled up over this ok!? We're all good in the hood. I completely agree.

All I'm saying is that from what I've heard, and from what I've been told, the pod comes out of the tumbler, and what i'm doing here, is postulating how that happens...

If it doesn't come out of the tumbler, then OF COURSE the more sensical explanation is that the tumbler is made from scratch, so we are in agreement!

OMG! IF YOU LOOK IN THE WINDSHIELD YOU CAN SEE TEH VENOMZ!!!1!11!

Ahem. That being said, it would seem that the badpod's frame would either have to be very slim, or the Tumbler would have to be bulkier for it to come out of the side, or the front, or where ever. Due to the space inbetween the wheels in the front, I doubt that's where it could come from. As for the sides, it still seems like a reach because in that picture the side panels look very slim. Granted, there could be another Tumbler (created for the movie, not in the universe of the movie) that is bulkier on the sides to allow for it to come from it. But from that picture, I doubt it.

I'd love to see the old Bob Kane Batmobile (the one also featured in the killing joke) at some point, maybe as a relic relegated somewhere in the batcave.

Then it wouldn't be so much a bat pod more than a bat trailer?

You're the one that embarrassed yourself! It's there in my post for everyone to see! It's called contradicting yourself, and you did a very good job of it!

Wow, you're practially hyperventilating. You're so caught up in your ridiculous theory that you'll make any claim to defend it. You go through your life like that? Do yourself a favor, stop now while it's this meaningless. Seriously, you can't go through your life doing contortions to try and make everyone else seem wrong when you know it's really you. Learn to cut your losses and walk away. You'll learn from your mistakes and grow.

But you're right about one thing, your posts are there for everyone to see. More's the pity.

What are you, 15? You're the one getting all riled up?! I'm just saying what I think happens to the tumbler and here you are giving life lessons!!!

It's a discussion about a fictional Car, DAWSON!

hmm...cant really tell from this angle...

This is what I'm saying, the seat comes out of the middle, from where he launches his weapons, and rotates around so that it lines up with the pod!!!

That does make perfect sense. When he goes into missile launch mode , its very similar if not the same as the riding position in the batpod. Good call. Its just hard to picture from an engineering standpoint because those are both FRONT wheels and it needs its own fuel and its own engine. the rear wheels of the batpod are different from the front.

Strange, I coulda sworn this thread the title 'Batmobile" and not "Batpod", yet i see a discussion of 3 pages about the batpod...hmm

Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing something like teh TAS version of the batmobile. No, that's not because I think TAS is godly or anything, I just always liked that design of it. Long, thin, jetpowered missle on wheels.

Or maybe what Tim Butrton was going for back in 89. That one always seemed to have something missing from it...

Can I just take this moment to say that having compared pics of the tumbler and the pod, what i've been saying for the past three pages isn't exactly the strongest argument.....

Especially seeing as how the Tumbler would need to house a large seat that doesn't especially look like it could collapse. Now, being built by the remains of the Tumbler is still very plausible.

Not really... No part of the pod looks like it was made out of a blown up tank.

I'm not saying it's a definite, but that it's plausible. Granted we don't know where it comes from or even if it comes from the remains of anything. Chances are it doesn't, but I wouldn't discount it especially if Bruce only had the Tumbler as his mode of transportation.

Hmmm... Maybe if it was a cuban batman, but I'm still not seeing it.

It obviously wouldn't look all blown up when its done being rebuilt. Its not like they're going to take the wreckage and just screw it together. The metals will be melted, reshaped, remodeled, and the hydraulics can be reused. Which is why the Batpod is so large and which is also why it uses the same size wheels as the tumbler. The only reason I say its made from the tumbler scraps is because of the tires and its general styling.

Anyway...

I'd love to see a sportier batmobile!!!

I really really would!!!!

What are they going to replace it with in the third film?

By the third film I'm willing to bet Nolan will have him drive something leaning more towards a comic like "Batmobile". He should have it evolve by then, especially if that rumour about the Tumbler in TDK is true.

this is true, i'm not causing a rukus, there will be 3 different batmobiles in this movie.

1.Tumbler
2.Tank (kind of like TDKR
3.Classic (by classic I mean 1989 Tim Burton Batmobile.)

How do you know this is true? Where did you get the Tank from?

At this point, anything is possible. i think that largly bepends on how/when the 3rd take place, what happens, ect.

For example...Batwing? Maybe so. Slicker, sportier batmobile? I'd bet my money on it. No batmobile at all? Possibly...but we just don't know enough about either 2 or three to make that kinda lep just yet...

I talked to one of "Rory's first kiss" crew members. He was (and still is) cool about telling what he saw. Like who dies, Joker's plans etc.

Not even close. Tumbler? Yep. Tank? most likely not. Classic? Not a chance.

Batman is Bruce Wayne on his spare time, not a mechanic.
