I'd be OK with the Telltale suit, which always felt to me like a slimmer, more streamlined version of the AO suit, which I love.
The Batsuit isn't just armor. Heck, it wasn't armor for a good 40+ years. It's a symbol rooted in theatricality. Him coming across as a creature that preys on criminals is more important than the Batsuit being a suit of armor and nothing more.
The prosthetic cowl works for the same reason the ears, scalloped cape and bat symbol works. Ditto for the eyes
Umm, white eyes contrasting the moody lighting and atmospheric, shadowy cinematography would look perfectly ominous and fit Noir aesthetic. I'd argue even better than just a plain cowl with his eyes exposedI don't want to beat a dead horse, so this is all I'll say: of course a prosthetic cowl and lenses could work, I'm just arguing neither is the best choice for film.
And this is not the same thing as the doubt that a grey and black / cloth-based suit could work in live action; both an emotive cowl and lenses will directly impact the viewer's experience. It's also adding an unnecessary technical hurdle. It should also be considered that that kind of visual is very specific and not necessarily (or likely) fitting with the aesthetic Reeves is going for.

This is what a Noir aesthetic looks like. Now Batman with white eyes would THRIVE in a visual style like that

I think those images would be just as effective if his eyes were completely blacked out, but that's just me.Umm, white eyes contrasting the moody lighting and atmospheric, shadowy cinematography would look perfectly ominous and fit Noir aesthetic. Batman does wear armor. But he has tech advanced enough that it looks identical to cloth.
In an universe with poison ivy and mister freeze, I don't think cloth-like armor is that incredulous. Just make it look like cloth and have alfred or Bruce say that it's actually super advanced armor. Done.
While I love that shot, I do think white eyes would have made it better.I think those images would be just as effective if his eyes were completely blacked out, but that's just me.
The scene in BvS where Batman confronts Luthor in prison is perfect just the way it is. White eyes wouldn't improve it.
I'm totally cool with "detective vision" drop-down lenses. I just don't want them as a permanent fixture. For what it's worth, I am not against them. In fact I've advocated for retractable lenses for years. I want a mix of both, because I do think there are benefits to seeing the actor's eyes at times.
