Yeah, this and the classic Adam West Batsuit are big reasons why I personally cringe at the idea of a fabric-based cowl. Especially if most of us here are in agreement with the idea that the longer Bat-Ears should make a return.

With that cowl I honestly feel like Batman would be scarier without it... that's a big problem.

I feel like if I had that thing staring at me I wouldn't feel scared at all. I prefer the cowl to be intimidating... this one just looks meh.

I really like John Regan's fanart but goddamn do I hope that the cowl doesn't look like that. It doesn't look intimidating at all.

That's how I want the lenses done! They could possibly be a little more mirror-like, but yeah, something that shows the real eye but can also be used to bounce a light off to give the white eyes look.

It's definitely a toy. The Battfleck cape couldn't do that - The cape was actually stitched into the "folded back" look permanently.

I still hate it. The batsuit should be something so awesome if shuts everyone's doubts about Pattinson at first glance. You do a batsuit with this cowl and if anything it'll just solidify all the complains the haters and skeptics have.

The batsuit for this movie, however it looks like, ideally should be a huge crowd pleaser. It should be something that is uniquely Batman, that represents everything people have come to expect the character to represent.With a casting so controversial (Although so perfect) and the franchise in the state it is right now this is not the time to do weird Darren Aronofsky/JL Mortal experiments with the batsuit. It should be soemthing uniquely Batman, and that makes people say when they see it "**** yeah, that's Batman, that's awesome."
It certainly shouldn't remind people of Adam West.

Like I said, it'd be a gigantic shame if the first image released had the same result as Leto's reveal as the Joker in which it was controversial as hell.

It's also worth noting that much of the intimidation factor stems from Bruce's psychological training overseas.

That said, I have to agree with IJ on this. Regan's a godsend, but that "fabric-based" cowl is just wrong for Pattinson. The mouth opening, in particular, is too small.

Maybe for the mask they should take a similar approach to Daredevil in which it's basically a helmet and they have some other materials surrounding the neck and ears... it doesn't look bad, it allows the actor to breathe, hear and move. A couple of modifications to adapt this to a Batman mask and it could look gret.

It could be a similar type of material, but using the same suit in two different incarnations just ain't gonna happen.

Because Pattinson and Reeves are clearly doing something completely new, and don’t want to be saddled with the aesthetics and baggage of something not many people liked?

Batbale almost carbon-copied Burton's era batsuit. BvS suit is easily the best batsuit (and more cb accurate) we have ever had.

And I wholeheartedly believe rubber suit is sillier.

...hate to break this to you, but the BvS suit was as much rubber as the others. It was just a different colour. Those weren’t really Ben Affleck’s muscles.

Theres no reason the new suit cant be comic acurate and still look completely different than the snyder suit. Just like the nolan suits are all black suits like the Schumacher suits and are completely different.

I didn't said it wasn't. Just that it was the best we ever had and was really cb accurate. And that if Snyder already paved the path of the best batsuit, what's the purpose of doing it again?

Of course it will not be the same, but I wouldn't mind if it was in the same venue.
