The BATSUIT Thread

I've always been fond of David Finch's Batman Incorporated suit. Some variant of that, albeit with reduced musculature, would do nicely IMO.

Me, too, though I don't prefer the oval.

I actually have a feeling we're going back to all black, tactical, and ugly.

We'll see. I hope I'm wrong.

Same. I’m hopeful he’ll go for a more stylized aesthetic, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s basically the Nolan suit.

I hope the next time someone interviews Reeves they ask him about the aesthetic because right now we honestly have no clue as to how he'll go about designing the batsuit, batcave, etc

I too have this sneaking suspicion that we may be going back to an all-black suit.

Nailing the cowl / cape is the most important thing to me, but I would hate if they moved backwards to the black suit.

I have no problems with an all black suit. Its worked before and it could work again.

I do think theres a chance we may get some dark grey thrown in there though.

The manip going around here is great except the mask covering his chin, please don’t do that, RP has a great chin for the role, I don’t care if its more “realistic” to have it covered.

Not sure who originally made this, it was back when the Gyllenhaal rumor was peaking. But given the interest in a 1939-inspired suit and a more old school noir aesthetic, pretty cool to look at.

Ironically I'm probably the only fan here who actively wants to see a return to an all-black Batsuit on the big screen, but I haven't ever thought it could happen. It'd be a pleasant surprise for me. :funny:

Hopefully we get some sort of concept art or something before the year ends and have a better idea of what Pattinson's Batsuit will look like.

Looks like John Regan's work. Here's his Battinson variant.

I dunno. The more I think about it, the Kane/Finger design probably would have fit better with Hoult or Gyllenhaal, as their jaws sort of taper off to a more pointed chin. Their facial structures would have really complimented the flushed-out ears.

Pattinson's jaw is almost a perfect square, so I think he's made for an Aparo/Adams cowl. Long ears pointed straight up. Sharp and angular.

I would welcome an all-black suit again, but I actually don't see it happening. I still prefer the Burton suits to Snyder's. Maybe it's just because it's the first Batman I ever laid eyes on and it's the most iconic to me, but I think it looks cool AF on screen and really turns Batman into a creature of the night. Black and grey is cool too though, of course. I don't think we're going to see it revert back to old school rubber suits though, superhero costumes have come too far as have the audience's expectations for movement. Wouldn't be surprised to see some new type of innovation this time around rather than relying strictly on things that have been in done in the past for superhero suits.

One thing I definitely do not need to see are the 1939 outward-pointing ears. Please, no. If it took place in the 30s or 40s, sure. The design is just so rooted in that time period that it's hard for me to picture it working in a more modern context.

Read my mind.

At the risk of betraying my "black-and-grey" brethren from the Nolan days, I wouldn't mind a return to all-black. Now that we've finally gotten a black-and-grey suit a few times, I'm more open-minded in regards to color scheme.

Just give me something sleek and streamlined. And get the oval back in there if you can.

Yep. I've thought for ages that Reeves will probably go for something more akin to the Neal Adams look... though I'm a bit skeptical that he'll do a blue-grey suit.

Agreed across the board. I still prefer the Burton suits and the Begins suit to either of Snyder's suits myself.

I want a blue-and-gey suit, but my head tells me that ain't happening.

Something vaguely similar to the Batman Returns suit then?

Yeah, I think we're far too deep with the "Batman's Cowl is Black" mentality for that to change anytime soon.

Nothing would make me happier than to see the yellow oval back again. But I really don't see it happening unfortunately.

That is one thing that is pretty crazy about Batman when you think about it. You have an iconic, default logo that you see on every t-shirt, yet Bat-logos are constantly re-designed for various iterations. I think that really speaks to the constant reinterpretation of the character that it seems to thrive on.

I wouldn’t mind an all black suit if it were fabric based.

Actually I wouldn't be very surprised if we do finally see a return of the yellow oval here. I'm not outright expecting it, but I think Reeves is far more likely to go for it than Affleck would've been.

Something like a more professional looking take on the Netflix Daredevil suit then?

It could happen. Just don't want to get my hopes up lol.

But if Reeves wants to instantly slap the audience with something iconic that hasn't been seen on screen in a very long time, there ya go.
