The BATSUIT Thread

Am I the only one tired of rubber cowls with black eye makeup? I'd like to see something different View attachment 28705
This with some changes could work..

That one struck my fancy for sure. It seems a bit more rudimentary, while still cool-looking. Something that looks like it could actually be peeled back from his face I'd be all for.

How would you guys feel about this Telltale-ish suit? I think it's pretty good, I'd just change the most Affleck-like details of it.

As for that fabric cowl... it depends how it'd be executed, that example that was posted is god-awful and would make for the exact same reception Leto's Joker look had. Looks more like a bumblebee than a bat.

I'd prefer something like this:

Anyone saw that Batman x Fortnite trailer?!

The Batman's chin there heavily resembles Battinson's.

That's a little out there. He doesn't have "Orphan'd" written on his forehead, it's just a different-looking cowl. A novel approach to something as minor as the cowl would set the right tone. People have fun being opinionated, but they also get used to things fast.

I know they'd have that reaction because every time I've seen that fanart posted to "medium sized " audiences on Facebook, Instagram or reddit it gets laughed at, rejected, say it doesn't look scary, it looks ridiculous, like a bumblebee, feminine etc.

Because of how controversial the casting already is, Pattinson needs a suit that blows people's minds and make them say "That's Batman". You can make something new with the design without it receiving a ton of backlash like it'd with that one that was posted. Ive seen other cowl fanarts that get a far more positive reaction and even have changed people's opinions on Pattinson a bit. The cowl is one of the most important parts of the costume, it's Batman's face and this is not the time to do weird experiments. He needs something recognizable.

You can do that in a fair few ways, to be fair. I feel like the best thing you can do, for live action, would be to make the cape and cowl more comic accurate. Have it naturally envelope the body, like in the Animated Series or Arkham games if you wanna go more "practical", rather than the weird folded version over the shoulders we got in BvS. I'd even argue that they should go back to semi-longer ears. Not necessarily Arkham length, I'd argue the perfect ear length would be the Batman Inc suit in Arkham City or even the 70s suit in Arkham Knight. I'm also 100% someone who wants them to try the white lenses. Do any of these things and you've already got the exact reaction you're talking about. It's different, but recognisable.

Behold, Batman costume from Justice League Mortal

Love George Miller, wish we could have seen Justice League: Mortal, but that concept art is a big ol' bag of yikes.

Sometimes logic has to make way for coolness. I've always dug the blue and grey look.

It looks good, but it doesn't look intimidating, Batman looks his best when he's intimidating and just runs with the creature of the night motif.

The only reason anyone would prefer the blue over black is nostalgia.

I mean, there is also the age old argument that blue's actually more stealthy than black due to how the human eye processes color in darkness and the like. Plus, Bruce himself was trained as a ninja in modern canon and it's well documented how much they wore blue for the sake of stealth. Does that mean they should go for a light blue? No, too bright and it looks kinda ridiculous. A very dark blue would be fine though, something akin to the Arkham City suit.

If they currently prefer the blue over black that pretty much means they liked it back when those comics were first being released. So not nostalgia really...some people legit like that color scheme. I personally like it a lot but do prefer the black and gray.

We all know demonic, elemental creatures of the night can't be blue. It's physically impossible.
