The placement of the ears matter, too.

Affleck's were too far forward-in the middle. Bale had wonderful placement and length... for his suit. Just put shorter ears towards the back on this new suit. Middle only works well in the comics.

No, short ears on the back of the head look horrible in live-action. It creates an egg shape to the head. See the Justice League cowl for reference.

Yup. The '89 cowl suffered from this as well. Begins had the perfect shape and placement for the ears.

I don't know why but Affleck's makes Batman look like a Build-a-bear

Am I the only one not having problems with past cowl shapes and not being bothered with how the ears were positioned?

Most past suits were rad.

But for variety's sake, I would love to see longer ears again, a la Tim Sale:

I used to defend Batfleck's short ears because we'd never had them before, and they just fit Affleck's big build better for some reason, but now that we have Pattinson and a noir-driven story that calls for a more mysterious-looking Bats, the long ears are a must.

His Bats also kinda resembles Pattinson now that I think about it:

this is outrageous. Absolutely perfect. And I like the semi-opaque lenses in the second where you can see just enough of his eyes to humanize him but clearly enough to mask iris scanning tech.

I just think the cowl can work. The rest of the suit I don't really care about.

I have a lot of love from Batman's OG look, but I don't ever really want to see a cowl like that in live-action. At least not in a main-line Batman movie.

Because we've had 9 films with the more traditional/modern shape ears. I don't see what's wrong with trying out new stuff


It would be something we've never seen on film before and keeping things fresh is always a good idea. The cowl could get a revamp in thr sequel to go back to the more traditional shape but i'd love to see a Kane/Finger-inspired for the first film

For me, it's just the OG factor . Plus, if they ever use that suit, I don't want it to be a literal translation, I want them to update it to modern-day standards while still keeping all the design elements like the flared cowl and purple gloves.

And that particular cowl just looks cool in shots like this to me:

This is probably the first time you and I agree on something batsuit related but yeah, this can totally work. This manip alone honestly looks more intimidating and badass than any live action cowl so far.

Lots of productions want to do a promotional image instead of on set photos leaking. That's the main reason I think something might be released soon, if it happens.
