I’m curious about the presence of scallops in the cape. Can’t tell from that shot. The marketing illustrated image of him with batarang shows them off but I wonder if they’re actually there in the film.

It may seem simple, but that's one of the things I really hope to see: those damn batarangs being used properly for the FIRST time in 10 live action movies.:funny:

Yeah I know, I'd only shorten it a little, definitely not like Bale and Affleck's. It's just that sometimes Pattinson's cowl looks weird, specially in front, with the big skull area and wide mouth opening.
But overall, I love this suit so much, and I say that as a big Batfleck's suit fan.
Personally I think it always looks great and don't have the issue you mention about the skull area and mouth, but to each their own. That is definitely subjective.

However, I don't think it's possible to shorten the mouth opening "a little" in the way you are requesting. This style of mouth opening only works the way it does because the edge is fitted behind the corners of Pattinson's jaw. The jawline gives a natural edge for the cowl to hold against. As soon as you move that edge inward onto the surface of Pattinson's cheeks, you get that old gaping issue during speech and movement, which can only be mitigated by a hard rubber cowl. Then the actor looses the ability to turn their head etc. due to the material used.

Judging by the gif in your profile pic I don't think the cape actually has them and if it does, they're so small they may as well not be there. I'd assume the scallops are gonna be reserved for the gliding suit, that looked like it had them

Wow, I wish I had this bat-cowl knowledge haha. If that's for mobility, I'm fine then. As I said, not a big deal, it's just very different from what we've seen till now.

I remember when the first video came out of Pattinson in the suit, I was really unsure about the collar. Now I don’t even notice it and it blends perfectly into the suit.

Also what I like about the suit is, it really makes it not look like Pattinson as Bruce it feels like a different person and i think that having that leaner look he looks more beefy and bigger in the suit. Where bale felt opposite to me he was muscular as Bruce but looked slimmer as Batman.

this suit is unique in that the first time you see it, it seems odd looking and you might not even like it at first, because it is so different from what's been done before in live action batman.

something we aren't accustomed to.

but then your eyes adjust to it after that and it just screams "batman"

what's cool about the suit is that it evokes alot of different batman's across the character's history.

the cowl at certain angles looks like adam west's cowl.
and the stitched look of it and the collar also evokes gotham by gaslight batman.

the body armor takes influences from the arkham games, lee bermejo's art, murphy's batman: white knight and as well the nolan dark knight suits (as some have brought up - they basically improved the nolan suit with this).

and at times, the ears, cowl, and bat emblem gives it a original 1939 batman feel too.

it's really grown on me and is probably one of my fave batman costumes as of now.

Wtf that’s amazing. Best bodysuit ever. The cowl needs minor tweaks to the jawline, the expression, and the ears, but then this will be the perfect suit IMO.
I gotta disagree with you on these two points. My explanation regarding the jawline is well covered on the last two pages, so I won't rehash it, but the expression on this cowl is one of its greatest strengths. The blankness of it allows Pattinson's eyes to do all the talking, making this by far the most expressive we have ever seen. Vast improvement over the perma-scowl of previous cowl sculpts!

Im shockingly excited for sexy Batman Lips talk. XD

Yup, while i do hope we get a bit bulkier and expressive cowl, i cant deny that the focus on Pattinsons eyes is a fantastic idea.
On that, the blankness is such a good idea.
There is a reason why some of the most stunning and popular shots are those where his eyes do all the talking.
