Many people say there isn't an audience for black superheroes and they might have a point. There hasn't been a mega-successful black superhero movie without Will Smith.

But the Marvel Cinematic Universe is more popular than ever. Even the B-list GotG made over 700 m worldwide.

So will Black Panther reach the heights of the Thor and Captain America sequels? Will if flop? Or fall somewhere inbetween?

200 DOM, 400 worldwide = 600 M.

He is going to be a key figure in CA:CW

400 m isn't playing it safe, it probably isn't even in the game.

I'd say 600 m +. If the movie's great it'll be huge.

And Guardians is no longer B-list. Not. Even. Close.

Avatar 3 and JL follow in the 4 weeks after release.

220 DOM

178 OS

Between 615 and 780 mil in the WW box office. He'll have alot of buzz coming of Civil War. Add in the Marvel Logo and a role for another Marvel hero joining the cast to bring in more fans and we have a hit on our hands.

Hello have buzz from Civil war which is a good decision from marvel to introduce him in that. But I went with 400m+ because JL comes out two weeks later which will hurt the legs.

I think it might make more than what people suspect. I think with having the first black superhero, it'll be huge and very well should be. Not to mntion it'll be coming off hopefully other succesful Marvel films.

Depends on who else is in it, adding in Hawkeye and some other MCU notable will have a huge impact and I figure as a PG13 movie its got to be able to make more than Django Unchained right? So I'm saying 500 to 800 WW

That was about my estimate. I think it'd be pretty cool to have this movie based during the time of TWS and have Hawkeye in it. Have Cap's shield get broke in AOU and have Hawkeye suggest Wakanda to get it fixed.

600 million worldwide is what I'm going with.

Forgot about JL being so close. That said, BP will probably already have about 150-170 m in the domestic till before JL hits, so I'm pretty confident it'll be in the 220 range domestically when all is said and done. Internationally I'd bet around 350-380 safely. So overall in the 570- 600 range, close to my initial 600 m prediction.

Again I'll say 600 m.

I think it will do well

Domestic - $180 Million
Worldwide - $550 Million

Though I think it would earn more if its gonna be released in the summer season.

Domestic: 275 Million

Overseas: 535 Million

World-wide: 810 Million

Cap 3 will have made over a billion and people will associate him to that because of that connection.

Guaranteed bank.

While I agree on that, I don't want to get too carried away. Many assumed post Avengers and IM3, that Thor: The Dark World was destined to be an $850-1 B Movie.

I'm going to go with Thor 1 numbers for a poorly reviewed BP, and Guardians numbers for a universally acclaimed one. Using that I'll split the difference and vote $600 M ww.

BP is one of the most anticipated and yearned after Marvel comic book movies to date. Even more so that GOTG. I'm sure if done right it will gross more than Cap and Thor.

I'm going for 600-700mill, if it is very good. BP will kick ass in Cap 3 and will draw the fans in. I would actually suggest higher if Justice League wasn't coming out 2 weeks later.

I'll reserve judgement until i know more about the cast and who's directing. Films with large black casts have little success overseas. The Disney marketing Machine is gonna have to crank things up.
