The Bond 23 Thread

Now that the hype of QoS is over with, i'd figure we could have a new thread for the 23rd installment of the Bond franchise. The latest reports suggest script work is starting this month with Moneypenny and Q set return.

What Craig had to say:

As for Bond 23, seemingly anything is possible now that the Royale-Quantum storyline has seemingly come to a close.

‘I love the idea of putting Moneypenny in the film,’ he said. ‘I’m dead keen to do it. And Q.’ However, Craig stressed that there needed to be some characterization to these two MI6 favourites. He said: ‘I work from the premise that there are millions and millions of people out there who never saw one of the earlier Bond movies. So they don’t understand the martini gag. Or the Moneypenny gag, which is a gag—it had ceased to be a character. So, let’s find out who she is. We can have fun doing that. And, don’t get me wrong, I’m up for a submarine base, as long as the gag works. The problem is that Austin Powers screwed everything up. He exploded the genre. Did I just say that? I did.’

According to producer Michael G. Wilson, preliminary script work is scheduled to commence this month, so keep your eyes on CommanderBond.net for all the latest Bond 23 coverage as it becomes available.

The Spy Who Fingered Me Twice

It looks strange out of context, doesn't it?

so did the original thread get to large?

Sweet I really hope q and moneypenny will be back.

That article with Craig was in 09...*resubscribes*

I think its time to re-introduce the characters to the cinemas.

I think part of the problem was that Quantum lagged too much from Casino Royale. Like it was weird to place the gun turret at the end. It felt like they were already in that place at the end of Casino Royale.

I'm reposting my comment here from the last thread for discussion's sake:

I've read your response to my comment on Craig playing a thug-like Bond, and like I've said, Casino Royale is a great film and wonderfully acted by Craig, and I would really like it if his character is not named James Bond. Because that's how I feel, that he really doesn't played James Bond at all. Sure, the other actors played a brutal Bond, but the high class, sophisticated part of the Bond character is still there. I just don't see the point why do we need to see Bond without that part, when even in the CR novel, James Bond is not like what Craig portrays in the film.

Hmm tron legacy old thread is open again and not bond.....

I'm reposting my comment here from the last thread for discussion's sake:
Why, we have discussed it before and come to the conclusion that you dont like Craigs Bond while the rest of us love him,so why do we need to discuss it again??

And if you are wondering, Judi Dench will be back as M.

Further pressed for details she said, "Nothing... my lips are sealed. I can't tell you anything at all!"

"Of course, I'm looking forward hugely to working with Daniel [Craig] again and with Sam [Mendes] who I've only ever worked with in the theatre. So that'll be all good fun to do! I'm so glad it's coming back, it's wonderful."

Dench in any film is worth seeing. Great actress -- the bright spot of the Brosnan 007 films and a highlight in the Craig 007 films.

Excellent news about M. Also, I really hope Rachel Weisz agrees to play the Bond villian. They could do alot with a female nemesis of Bond.

Would you guys ever want to see Blofeld again? I really want to see Daniel Criag duke it out with Bond's archnemesis. I have no idea who I would choose to play him though.

I just hope they tone down the action scenes and insert more undercover spy-bond-being-dry scenes.

They can't do blofeld if I recall, just like how they can't do spectre.

After the action orgy that was QoS we need exposition in the next film for sure. Enough useful dialogue to keep things moving, flowing and making sense. I want intrigue, atmosphere and most importantly, I want to feel like I wish I was James Bond again. These days, I'm wishing I was Don Draper (not a bad thing) but I'd rather be Bond and I want to something that makes me feel that way.

I think what Bond really needs is for people to forget Goldfinger ever happened.
