Why? I don't think there is any point in Gordon being dead.

If Gordon is gone and [BLACKOUT]Dick Grayson as we have some evidence for[/BLACKOUT], both would help to put Bruce into a truly dark and rage filled place. This could help to explain any number of things both character and plot wise.

would love to see a new gordon, but whatever is best for the story.

tho for the sake of the future bat fans who will have bvs be their premiere experience in dc world, i think it'd be a pity to have jimmy boy gahdan six feet under.

I think I'd rather Gordon be dead than Dick Grayson. I mean, we've never really had Dick Grayson in a Batman movie, unless you count Chris O'Donnell's horrible portrayal or JGL's partial Grayson in TDKR. It just seems like a wasted opportunity.

Chris O'donnel's portrayal is far from horrible imo.

Scoot McNairy is a good actor to just be filler or a victim. He could be Metallo. Lex promises a new pair of legs? Metallic legs. Laawd.

Totally thought of this after reading your post...

"All I've ever cared about was video games and they made me a millionaire. So maybe I don't know what the Civil War was, or who invented the helicopter even though I own one, but I did beat The Legend of Zelda before I could walk. I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it. "

JP from Grandma's Boy

And the only reason anyone surmised that he is because it looks like he isn't in this movie. Hardly a good reason to assume he's dead.
It's stupid, really.

I actually think the Mulvey will just be Lex's muscle, much like he was a henchmen in CATWS. I don't think he'll turnout to be Metallo or Doomsday. He may be a minor villainous character from the comics, but I really don't think he'll be a big secondary villain to Lex. I also suspect McNairy will play a Metropolis victim testifying in support of Superman infront of Holly Hunter's Senator. I even thought I heard his voice in the teaser as the guy saying something like, " Maybe he's just a guy trying to do the right thing". He had a brief yet memorable appearence in Gone Girl as well , so I wouldn't be surprised if his role is to that extent, an extended cameo as opposed to a major supporting role.

I still suspect Malone is Carrie Kelly, though it would also fit into the DCU and Suicide Squad universe if she were a crippled Barbara Gordon/Oracle who was a victim of Joker's rampage ala the Killing Joke.

It would certainly make the dead Robin story alot stronger if Batman didn't have a Robin in current time, and that Bruce and Barbara were both mourning the loss of Grayson. She could also be in Batman's ear as oracle is in the comics, providing logistical and technical support.

As for another villain, at this point i'm not sure I buy that Doomsday or Metallo are gonna be in it. I really do think Lex will be the villain, just behind the scenes with much of the conflict being Batman vs Superman. In the end, he may put on the powersuit which requires Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman to take him down , in addition to Wonder Woman dukeing it out with fellow amazon Mercy Graves.

Chris O'Donnel has more Jason Todd/Tim Drake qualities than Dick Grayson. i thought he was decent.

sucks he got stuck in those terrible Schumacher films though. he pretty much disappeared after Batman & Robin bombed and the guy was actually an up and coming actor

He made movies, nothing of substance. He has starred on NCIS: LA (or however long it has been on...I dig the show quite a bit) for the past 5 years though so he isnt in destitute ;)

I thought O'Donnel was very good in scent of a woman (great movie to check out!), so I personally think he's a solid actor if given the right material.

Not a great actor but I wouldn't necessarily say terrible either. I also agree wih those that think he did a good portrayal. I enjoyed him in the role

Okay, it took me 7.569 views of the trailer to finally conclude something (I am very observant, am I not?) - it doesn't seem to be night in the shots of the Superman statue, as little part of blue sky can be seen in the right corner, but what it appears to be a nuclear winter - similarly to one that struck Gotham in TDKR. There are also snow-like fragments falling from the sky around the statue...

This was probably brought up before and I missed it though.

^ I don't think so. TDKR has a nuclear EMP blow all the circuits and clearly all the lights are still on. I think it's just fall and sunset and leaves and litter are blowing blown through the air.

Good point. And it does look too "clean" for it t o be an aftermath of the nuclear catastrophe.

I am actually relieved that this is "debunked". It was a rather unpleasant thought, as I am not big fan of that being in the movie and I also don't want another Metropolis catastrophe anytime soon.

Those are some grim and dark clouds though. I wonder if they're edgy as well...? :hmm
