Metallo.

This is all a trick. Snyder won't let us hear the real batvoice yo!

I was thinking that. That we think it's Batman, because he's in frame at the time, but it's really one of the villains - it's not really a Batman kind of line anyway.

One thing, and it's not a nit pick or anything. The teaser looks awesome, the film looks great, but I was kind of hoping they would lighten the tone just a tiny bit or at least not get too dark, but it looks like Supes is in for a really **** time in this movie, and while that happens to pretty much every superhero, I was kind of hoping that he would get a slightly easier ride.

I mean, in TDKR Bruce loses pretty much everything (well, everything he had left after TDK), and like I said, I was kind of hoping Superman would get a slightly easier ride ( I mean the guy had to save the human race and kill the last surviving member of his own race on his first day on the job). The teaser makes things look pretty damn bleak for Supes - who's only trying to do the right thing. Sigh.

Now I'm not talking about a similar tone to the Donner movies - because that time has passed, rather just a slightly lighter tone, or maybe even the same tone as MOS ( because personally I didn't find it too dark) but

Okay, it's just a teaser, so who knows ? I'm sure I'll go see it a bunch of times anyway- and like I said it looks awesome. If I had a point in there somewhere I've totally lost it ...crap !

I think I am ready for more mature and less rosy Superman tales, but that's me. I at least want ones that deal with his place in the world and his power seriously. This seems to fit the bill. Again, those are my druthers.

I don't like light hearted stuff so i'm very pleased.

What i'm worrying too many rushed things and explaning instead of making us feel it. I think that was one of the problems with MOS. His father, Kodex and all jazz etc.

If you are gonna go gritty, dark stuff you have to make audience part of it, caring for characters even side ones. Like Nolan trilogy did with it's characters.

Dude, I agree that it shouldn't have the same campy tone as the Donner films, but the trailer seems even darker than TDK - which is quite a dark film. One thing I think Superman films should end on is a high note - I mean, the ending of TDK is one of the all time great superhero movie endings, but essentially Batman has lost as much as won. The end of MOS worked for me, as Supes had found his place in the world, with that "Welcome to the planet" line it was clear that he'd found himself at last - so a very hopeful note to end on. Superman is about hope, so I feel like his films should end that way. I'm really hoping that B v S ends with them shaking hands, or a similarly hopeful finish - but from the trailer, that might not happen.

I kind of feel like Superman had plenty of ups and downs in MOS, and could use a bit of a grace period before everything goes to hell. From the trailer it looks like Lex, Batman and the media are all out to get poor old Supes, who's just trying to do the right thing. As I said before, I think MOS got the tone right - I too think of Superman as quite a serious character who carries a heavy burden of responsibility- I hope that B v S doesn't go for a darker feel than that. Ah well, have to wait and see.

Ladies. Gentlemen. I can't get over that shot of the soldiers, bowing before Superman with the insignia on the shoulders. I just can't.

If that shot doesn't make the final cut, I'm gonna have a problem...

I simply love how dark this teaser is. All the better in HD! We have a hulking Batman in a scratched and battered Bat suit. The tone fits.

I think this teaser is essentially Batman's POV -- we see the people, the world's reaction to Superman channeled and amplified through Batman's eyes. A weary, bitter and angry even Batman. The next teaser could be from Superman's POV, how he views himself in relation to the world and how he perceives the Bat, and maybe Lex. A Wonder Woman cameo as well.

I feel the same. Bring it, BvS!
Although, I also hope to see superman's point of view in all of this and how/why he embraces people in an unconditional way (and I have no reason to believe I won't get that).

I would have the same problem. It's beautiful. I am so eager to watch scenes of people embracing supes and their reasons for it. I'm also morbidly eager to see how Lex and the public in general tries to destroy that. It has TDK level of drama potential, IMO.

I see the beginning of the trailer as a trailer to the MOS. If it was just a normal solo film you could end it there. But then there is Alfred telling you why Batman is in the film. This fever has awaken something.

"This fever has awaken something..."

This is why we don't need a Batman origin and why his existence in this sequel works. So happy Alfred's dialogue is in the trailer. It's the simple justification of Batman in the story but eloquent as hell.

I'm glad, as the studio said, that the DCU will be grittier and darker than the MCU. Plus Batman, events like Flashpoint, etc work best in a grittier cinematic universe.

I think there will be some lighter stuff for Supes in this movie, but it will be piecemeal not all at once. Remember this has to be a world where Batman exists and finds issue with Superman.

Remember also some of the only set pics we got were of Clark Kent who isnt in this trailer. Clark may investigate the dark parts of the world but he can still be the light, giving Superman a part of the world to enjoy.

I honestly think the tone will be lighter than we think. Especially if that will you bleed line doesn't come from Bats (though I totes think at least the question is Affleck's voice, if not the answer)

Imagine if there really isn't a knockdown drag out brawl, but just supes and bats on opposite sides, with a minor skirmish ala the worlds finest movie.

There could be more bromance and positivity between them than we think.

That would be so underwhelming on so many levels....

Yeah I don't see that happening. Imagine Batman going through all of that trouble designing the suit and everything, then just goes, alright Clark, sign this, we're going to court.

Can anyone say, BAIT AND SWITCH? The film would tank BO wise after a week once the reports came out that the big draw for the majority of the audience was simply swept under the carpet.

I'm just saying, we don't really know enough to be sure of the direction of the film. Many of notions could be wrong. I'm confident that Snyder's gonna please us, and that he won't underwhelm on the Bats/Supes showdown, but anything really goes.

If he's misdirecting us on the Batvoice, there could be other misdirections.

Ummmm.... Considering most of the GA probably wonders why Supes and Bats would fight, I'm not so sure people would really care, as long as the film is good.

After all, it's historic enough to have Bats and Supes on screen together. That's a huge draw in and of itself.

But I was just musing, and don't think Snyders doing this. So moot point.

I am sure my guesses, your guesses, everybody's guesses are more than a little off right now Punz. That said, I just think the opinion that if the film does not deliver a best, two confrontations between the two that there's been a bait and switch, would spread like wildfire and severely hurt the film financially.

Snyder already confirmed there will be a fight between the two.

Well there you go. Don't mind me and my ramblings.

I was only just trying to say that the tone might not be as dark as the teaser implies. Which is why *****ing about it is cart before horse logic.

While I know that DCU needs to have a point of distinction from MCU, and it appears to be the gritty feel, I think there is such a thing as "too dark" for a superhero film.
I mean, the Crow is an incredibly dark film but still manages to be incredibly watchable - due to the characters and the "light" performance of Brandon Lee, who makes twisted jokes as he punishes his killers.

Gotham is a very dark show, but very watchable - as it too has a twisted sense of humour. Arrow is a pretty dark show, but has characters like Felicity and Ray who lighten things up enough to make it watchable.

Even TDK, BB and TDKR have a few jokes in them here and there - just enough to make it watchable. I mean that "Tell me where the trigger is, then you have my permission to die." is the biggest "in your face !" ever.
Hell, Catwoman cracks a joke just after putting a bit hole in Bane. And of course " You know how I got these scars ?" "No, but I know how you got THESE !"

MOS has a few jokes in it here and there too.

What I'm saying is, that if B v S is as serious as the trailer makes out, it will be tough to watch. At the end of MOS Superman wins, and I hope he comes out on top at the end of B v S as well.

I think that it's as much the confrontation as it is the two being together that's a draw Punz. The teaser ends with the set up for a donnybrook, wouuldn't you agree? So, if the other trailers follow this theme, but when you get to the theater and that's not something delivered on, I think lots will cry foul. Sort of like when you go back a revisit the campaign for GL. Those trailers make you think the Corps. and space are going to be a big part of the film. The final product betrays the trailers in a big way so of course on top of being a mediocre film, it baiting and switching was a key part of it's failure. That's how I see it anyway.

Its called Batman V Superman. There is obviously a fight.

Good point....lets move on though. As I said, I was just rambling and didn't mean to imply a serious suggestion.
