Reality is most people don't want to sit for a three hour movie. That's why it was cut.

There is no way WB would've okayed a three hour cut for such a risky important film in theaters, especially when it needed to be PG-13. Even the Dark Knight Rises was only 165 minutes.

How was the over-all atmosphere?

It was dope man! People were still cheering for WW first appearance! People was laughing at the humor points, and we were very much engaged to this film. The Ultimate Cut is totally a different film, way better that the theatrical cut!

Plus.. the people seating further down was Jon Schnepp, ColliderFrosty and Umberto! LOL! https://***********/Powerless_ness/status/747608713117130753

How was it?? Did the crowd enjoy it?

Yes the crowd enjoyed, we all were at awe on how incredibly fresh this new version was... even this group: https://***********/Powerless_ness/status/747608713117130753

Don't hate me for this, but I actually enjoy listening to Umberto talk about this cut. Only because he's letting his inside-geek outside. By that, I mean he's pretty much like "When Batman came out and was all kaplow. Then that stuff blew up and it was all skiboosh!!!" He's just so hyped that he's not even trying to sound like a movie buff or anything. He just really loved the damn movie.

I bought it on Amazon, and wow, I love it even more. Much, much better! My biggest gripe about the TC, was the transitions were pretty rough at times, but this movies was smooth.

And I didn't think the warehouse fight could get any better. Good god, were the additions better. Can't wait to see all the special features on the Blu Ray.

A three hour runtime didn't stop people from seeing Avatar, Return of the King, and Titanic, and then going back and seeing them again and again. I think it's a bit of a misconception that people are less interested in long films. This film certainly doesn't help the argument against long films, WB clearly made a mistake not releasing the UC considering how much better its being received.

the problem is that by cutting the movie they butchered it big time. they took out emotional and narrative elements that made the rest of the movie feel unfinished. i mean i don't remember there being a line about the wheelchair being lined with lead thus making it impossible for superman to stop the explosion on time - simple and effective. and there is a dozen of examples of that nature where just a little thing enhances the finished product.

Yeah, he was really just geeking out instead of reviewing the film. It was cool to see.

It was a terrible decision for sure just to make the film at 2 1/2hr's sake.

It's so sad Zack, Ben and Henry had to endure such a harsh and totally unfair criticism just because WB wanted a shorter cut.

Whoa What!?!? That was you next to me? You with your girlfriend??? LOL! What's up man!

Lol yeah it was! We were in the front row on the left and were fortunate enough to get moved back to those seats next to you. I just want to apologize because I hadn't eaten and was going in on some popcorn. Hope I wasn't too distracting haha.

it was unfair criticism. i liked BvS but it was average at best - great ideas terrible execution. now, it's a fantastic film, not a 10/10 but a solid 8/8.5 at least. i had it below x men : apocalypse, but now they are on par for me (you don't have to agree, it's just that x men are my favorite franchise and apocalypse had my fave jean doing a great phoenix - that in itself gets a 7/8 out of 10 from me )

Yup same here. I grew up in Glendale and been going to Burbank AMC for a long time. I remember when Burbank AMC was located on the other side of the street and that downtown area was dead. Lol.
