Captain Marvel The CAPTAIN MARVEL Countdown Thread

Yeah, he’s been doing a great job.

Thanks guys. Not to brag but I am indeed quite proud of my cover-posting skills.

Ms. Marvel One-Shot Vol 1 #1

"Binary"

In which Ms. Marvel meets a creepy bald kid who can make anything he imagines appear.

I was supposed to post this cover weeks ago but I forgot. The story is set at some point during Civil War, before Carol began her relationship with Wonder Man.

Ms. Marvel Special: Storyteller Vol 1 #1

"Return of the Storyteller"

In which Storyteller, the creepy bald kid returns, and he's still creepy... actually, he's become much creepier.

This special is nowhere near as fun as the cover makes it look. The only good thing it does is establish that HYDRA was studying Storyteller. This will be important later.

51 days until Captain Marvel

MM 2 35.jpg

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #35

"The Death of Ms. Marvel: Part 1 of 3"

In which Carol Danvers does some investigative work with the help of... her boobs.

Interesting look for her ::up::D:

MM 2 36.jpg

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #36

"The Death of Ms. Marvel: Part 2 of 3"

In which Norman Osborn recruits Ghazi (the man who tortured Carol back when she was a pilot) to kill her.

uh.jpg

And the reason she did was because you had captured her, threatened her with rape, stripped her to her underwear, tied her to a chair, electrocuted her and broken her arm, but what are facts anyway?

Seriously, I hate this dude. **** him, I'm glad he's about to die.

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #37

"The Death of Ms. Marvel: Conclusion"

In which Carol Danvers dies. And she dies after learning that her very first love, Michael Rossi, never actually loved her and has been working for Ghazi the whole time.

sad.jpg

Yep, that's definitely the face of someone who just had her heart broken. Poor girl.

The good news is that Rossi doesn't make it out of this issue alive. Ghazi does, though (for some reason I remembered him dying), but Carol does at least get to burn him alive.

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #38

"Meet the New Boss..."

In which Karla Sofen, our new Ms. Marvel, isn't too happy about people trying to take pictures of her butt.

tf.jpg

And so she murderer her mom in her sleep. That's... yeah, that's definitely evil.

Determined to be awful. :hehe: I want her to be the villain of Captain Marvel 2 so bad.

MM 2 39.jpg

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #39

In which Storyteller 2.0 (an army of fetuses with Storyteller's powers created by HYDRA) starts resurrecting Carol Danvers.
And I say starts because at the moment "Carol Danvers" is three different beings of energy (but there are more). And one of them melts some random guys alive.

Panel of the Day: Karla being subtle.

MM 2 40.jpg

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #40

In which the energy beings go around beating various people up, both enemies and allies.

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #41

In which Ms. Marvel becomes whole again... or does she?

MM 2 42.jpg

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #42

"War of the Marvels - Chapter 1: First Engagement"

In which Karla Sofen and an incomplete Ms. Marvel beat the snot out of each other, and Karla wins.

Why incomplete? Because Carol Danvers' more human and level-headed side is still separated from the rest. Her name is Catherine Donovan and she doesn't know what the hell is going on, either.

The red, black and gold colours look great.

MM 2 43.jpg

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #43

"War of the Marvels - Chapter 2: Tactical Dispositions"

In which incomplete Ms. Marvel, who is constantly angry and looking for fights, is defeated by a pregnant, regular woman. How embarassing.

42 days until Captain Marvel

MM 2 44.jpg

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #44

"War of the Marvels - Chapter 3: Weak Points and Strong"

In which the Dark Avengers bravely come together to fight a worthy adversary: Catherine Donovan, a woman with no powers. Needless to say, she loses.

Meanwhile, incomplete Ms. Marvel is growing more unhinged by the second.

unh.jpg

Also today's cover sucks, and the scene it depicts is not even in the comic. That's all.

MM 2 45.jpg

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #45

"War of the Marvels - Chapter 4: Variations in Tactics"

In which Norman Osborn blows Catherine's head off, but Storyteller 2.0 resurrects her again... or rather, he resurrects her mind and puts it into Karla's brain. How many twists does this story have.

spicy.jpg

Proof that Carol Danvers is one of the most relatable superheroes ever.

MM 2 46.jpg

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #46

"War of the Marvels - Conclusion"

In which incomplete Ms. Marvel finally stops being incomplete and Moonstone gets what's coming to her.

This story arc is kind of a mixed bag, but the ending is legitimately good. Even Sana Takeda's art seems to be better than it was in the previous issues.

I want to read the whole incomplete Ms Marvel storyline.

Ms. Marvel Vol 2 #47

"The Amazing Spider-Date"

In which Carol Danvers buys Peter Parker dinner, because of course he has no money.
He's the one who asked her out and now he doesn't even have the money to pay for his own dinner.

put.jpg

I'm so glad that these two never became a couple, they're better off as friends. Thank you, Dan Slott.

:funny: and agreed.

I mean, we all know their relationship wouldn't have lasted anyway, and I really don't like the idea of Carol joining Peter's army of former love interests.
