The Catwoman/Selina Kyle Casting Thread - Part 1

I feel bad for Matt Reeves or anyone who has to direct the next Batman movie, because they don't get the chance to cast Catwoman, Batman, Joker, Harley, Deadshot, Alfred, Gordon, Deathstroke...i mean jesus christ.

Problem with trying to ape Marvel and creating an entire inter-related universe instead of making individual movies that stand on their own

Tbh, I was hoping for brunette, skin tone don't matter, late 20's to mid 30's. Must be a good actress.

Technically 29 years old is considered late 20s.

Let's start getting angry when we get real news.

Anyway, I've been thinking... if this Batman is 45 years old and Bennett gets to play her real age, they obviously can't go with "Year One" approach when it comes to them meeting at the very start of both of their careers, as Batman probably began (pun intended ) when he was 25, which would make Selina 10 years old at the time. So, with this scenario, Batman meeting Selina while he was a rookie is out of question.

However, if Bennett gets to play, say, five years older than her age, making Bats "only" ten years older than Selina, she'd be 15 years old in "Year One", which would mean that them meeting early in Batman's career would be doable, if they don't go for the first year, but few years later. In that case, there should be plenty of history between the two of them. But Selina being 35 years old seems to be the lower limit.

Casting is probably the last of DCEU's problem, well except for Leto and Eisenberg.

I don't think Leto was miscast. I just think that version of the Joker was a s***ty one.

Ugh. I'm willing to give her a chance because she might end up being a great Catwoman, but i'm honestly getting angry just thinking of the DCEU having this opportunity to finally show an aging Catwoman, and they blow it all away.

There's still a chance that she's trolling or wanting the part really bad.

Keeping my fingers crossed it's the latter because this an opportunity the DCEU really doesn't need to throw away.

I still don't know what to expect from a David Ayer-helmed GCS film, but casting a quintessential Catwoman type like Headey would certainly be a step in the right direction.

I prefer no Catwoman. Hasn't she stolen enough to live comfortably? I'm half joking. I just never liked the character. She's a good pick though. I agree.
